The coordination was seamless, and everything ran smoothly all week long. They thoughtfully planned a fantastic itinerary that perfectly balanced time on the water with well-timed shore excursions, keeping the teens engaged, active, and excited each day. What truly stood out was how all of the captains approached the experience as educators as well as leaders. They didn't just sail the boats -- they invited the teens to become part of the crew. The students were actively involved in steering, navigating, understanding how the boat moves through the water, tying up at the dock, refueling, handling lines, and learning the mechanics behind it all. It was hands-on, immersive, and incredibly empowering for them. Watching the teens grow in confidence and capability over the course of the week was amazing. The captains were patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about teaching. This was…read morethe worst experience of "fishing" I have ever had although I'm not quite sure you could call it fishing. We went for a half day trip with 6 people and 4 of the people never even touched a rod! And the only reason one of them did was because the mate was busy. The other person that touched a rod was handed the rod once the fish was already set and all they did was reel. That's not fishing that's being treated like a four year old and just catching. The mate never spoke to us and it was the most awkward boat ride I have ever been on. The captain spoke to us a little bit but by the end of the trip we still didn't know their names. The boat had one kind of bait and that was it and after about an hour at one spot with no bites another boat came within like 20 yards of us and was catching every time their lines were in the water. I understand that sometimes fish don't bite and that's fine but obviously they were there and biting. We weren't even fishing for half of the time because they were just driving around. It was a very bad experience and a complete waste of money and there is no way on earth that we will ever be going back!

Wayne and his mate were very accommodating and helpful during the entire process from organizing the trip, while on the water, and cleaning the fish. Our trip was just this week and we caught our limit in 3 hours. All very nice stripers! He told us prior to leaving the dock that the group he took out that morning had caught their limit in just under 2 hours and he wasn't sure how we would do that afternoon. Wayne does have a fish finder, but like any sport: fishing, hunting, etc. it really can be unpredictable. We had an awesome day and my customers loved the experience. I know a lot of other sales reps that also utilize Wayne and his expertise to take their customers out fishing. I have never heard a single complaint or bad experience about Gatling Guide Service. You can bring food and drinks on the boat though they do have a bar full of options to choose from if you want a beer or cocktails. No food options to purchase on the boat. Everyone was nice and my son even was able to take the wheel for a while. A positive was that we were able to jump on the boat with no reservation. There are 4 large booth tables and plenty of other folding chairs and tables to relax by. They have a bathroom on board the ship with its very own window. I'm not sure if it's normal but there was no music playing which I liked since I was able to have conversations with my family. Tom & Steve are the owners and very nice and welcoming.

Dolphins, osprey with fish in their talons, lighthouses, a drawbridge, and a chill approach to life. He navigated us Tilghman island... let us rest, eat and swim... then returned us safely to our lives in DC. The 38 ft sloop is awesome, well cared for and handled great in some chop. I will absolutely sail with captain Paul again. I highly recommend sailing with him.
