The checkout with Dave was one of the most thorough and helpful that I have experienced, including not only specifics on the boat, but also navigation tips on the Rock Hall harbor and other places of interest. Having chartered in the past from other Chesapeake companies, Haven is the best by far!!

This was…read morethe worst experience of "fishing" I have ever had although I'm not quite sure you could call it fishing. We went for a half day trip with 6 people and 4 of the people never even touched a rod! And the only reason one of them did was because the mate was busy. The other person that touched a rod was handed the rod once the fish was already set and all they did was reel. That's not fishing that's being treated like a four year old and just catching. The mate never spoke to us and it was the most awkward boat ride I have ever been on. The captain spoke to us a little bit but by the end of the trip we still didn't know their names. The boat had one kind of bait and that was it and after about an hour at one spot with no bites another boat came within like 20 yards of us and was catching every time their lines were in the water. I understand that sometimes fish don't bite and that's fine but obviously they were there and biting. We weren't even fishing for half of the time because they were just driving around. It was a very bad experience and a complete waste of money and there is no way on earth that we will ever be going back!

You can bring food and drinks on the boat though they do have a bar full of options to choose from if you want a beer or cocktails. No food options to purchase on the boat. Everyone was nice and my son even was able to take the wheel for a while. A positive was that we were able to jump on the boat with no reservation. There are 4 large booth tables and plenty of other folding chairs and tables to relax by. They have a bathroom on board the ship with its very own window. I'm not sure if it's normal but there was no music playing which I liked since I was able to have conversations with my family. Tom & Steve are the owners and very nice and welcoming.

I highly recommend unless you want a berating for simply asking about accommodations (what/if any were available), that you do NOT bother reaching out to Paul. Dolphins, osprey with fish in their talons, lighthouses, a drawbridge, and a chill approach to life. He navigated us Tilghman island... let us rest, eat and swim... then returned us safely to our lives in DC. The 38 ft sloop is awesome, well cared for and handled great in some chop. I will absolutely sail with captain Paul again. I highly recommend sailing with him.
