I have also participated in three of the five summer alumni reviews, and my family members and friends continue to be part of the LVP community to this day. In short, my family and I are lifetime customers of LVP's product: a fun and high-quality musical and theatrical outlet in Northern Westchester. But in long, I have gained so much more from the LVP community. LVP is unique in Northern Westchester in its unparalleled programming, propelled by innovative and thought-provoking material and inspiring, fun, and caring personnel. Adam, Steph, Galit, Amy, Marcus, Jocelyn, and all members of the LVP faculty helped me to understand the difficult material we were working with, as well as helped me to loosen the chains of my timidness and to express myself in ways I never thought possible. Without question, LVP is one of the pivotal organizations in my life that helped me to define who I am. My wonderful experiences helped me to realize that I forever want to be part of the performing arts, and my returning to shows in the seven years since my graduation from LVP and seeing young students grow helped me to identify my passion for music education. I use much of what I learned from LVP faculty in my elementary music lessons in my career today. Overall, the artistic education I received at LVP is priceless, and in my returning to participate in alumni shows and in attending performances, I have seen that LVP in its growth and expansion has not lost sight of its goals of eleven years. I HIGHLY recommend LVP to any families in Central and Northern Westchester who want to participate in a meaningful and unique theatrical experience. I recommend it for those children that are shy and timid and looking for a safe environment to express themselves. From the first rehearsal she can home with such an enthusiasm for the music, plot, story and characters. The whole house lit up in the evening with the sounds of "I'm a Believer", "Story of My Life" and "I Think I Got You Beat" to name a few favorites. Every minute of every rehearsal was spent learning intricate choreography, staging, belting tunes and growing in skills. As a mom, my favorite part to hear about was the feedback she would receive in the rounding out meeting at the end of each rehearsal. She would often get feedback on what she was doing that made the production team proud or a share about how she was a role model, she would get positive feedback from other kids with accolades about what they wanted to celebrate of each other, she would give herself feedback publicly about motivating personal growth moments and she would receive feedback about what she could refine in a positive and supportive way to help her to grown into the best version of herself. This grounded her in confidence and helped her grown in both her vocal skills and acting skills. Not only did she shine on stage under the leadership of the most gifted and talented production staff, she also developed as an actress and singer with their guidance as well. Socially, the friendships she made have been lifelong and across age cohorts because that is the environment that has been created, one of acceptance, safety, celebration and belonging. Every time my child performs in another Open Arts Alliance production, I think I couldn't love the show more than the previous one, they could possibly top the last set design, the costumes and makeup and they couldn't replace the songs from the last production I have been singing and reminiscing about. Yet, every time I am in awe of how the talent and team continue to raise the bar with new technology, trickier choreography, well thought out casting and attention to intricate details. As an audience member, Shrek reminded me so much of the story and movie I had grown up loving. I found myself wanting to sing along, I felt all the emotions of the characters and I was transported to another time and place. This last season, and every season before, are the reasons we are so committed to the program. My child continues to thrive here and build a love of theater with every new production and we look forward to all the upcoming seasons that will encompass the brilliance of the power team!

For starters, the facility is clean and inviting, but the staff and teachers make this place go round. Jade and Tarika are incredible directors. They are always available for a chat - about both good things and concerns - and take the time to get to know each child. They are also extremely vigilant about when a child might be sick, which I appreciate. Additionally, they are responsive via email. I know that if I have a quick question, they are ready, willing and able to help. Lastly, our son loves his teacher, Miss Gia! He has never cried once when we drop him off and a huge smile comes onto his face when we walk into his room! The kids are kept busy (we love the art projects that come home!) and are cared for well. All of the teachers there have really impressed me. Now really the last thing - there's an app that we follow along with each day. It logs everything that is going on with our child, which for a parent, is a god-send. And there are cute pictures sent throughout the day.
