A friend of mine is opening a small artisan consignment shop, and we were able to find amazing store displays--stand shelving, a bench, and several other pieces that helped create the perfect rustic yet chic, neutral look she was going for. The staff and volunteers were incredibly pleasant, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. Parking is free, and I highly recommend going early during the weekday to make it easier to find a spot and less crowed. This place truly carries everything you could need for your home--sofas, bedroom and office furniture, bathroom items (from sinks to toilets), pots, home décor, light fixtures, shelving... you name it, they likely have it. They are constantly receiving new donations, so you never know what you'll find on a daily or weekly basis. Every time we thought we had found everything we needed, we decided to take one more look--and each time, we discovered even more great items. On top of that, it feels especially good knowing that your purchases support such a meaningful and worthwhile organization. If you have furniture or home items to donate, this is absolutely a place to bring them. I will definitely be back and highly recommend stopping in--you never know what treasures you'll find!

I didn't find what I needed but got tons of help from the staff as I looked. They even lent me their tape measure since I had forgotten mine. Employee Jenn greeted me with freshly popped popcorn since they just celebrated their grand opening. I tried for several weeks to donate items. I sent pictures of my items via email as instructed via…read moretelephone. I went to the store, meeting with the manager on two occasions. The store manager kept assuring me that I would be called back; as she was unable to contact the delivery person. I never was called or emailed. The manager gave me her business card, with personal contact number. I made a second follow up call, which was never answered. I saw some of the pieces that they have in the showroom, and they should have been very grateful for my donation. Now, in the garbage it will go. Obviously, they do not need donated items there. I couldn't have been more relieved and excited that the young mothers were literally taking the books i donated. The coordinator Ruth is responsive and fabulous to communicate with on donations. She really cares about getting the resources the residents need. Also if you donate what they need , you are donating directly to the people who need the items. It goes on right on the table and they start taking what they want. My heart melted as i discussed which books I recommend for reading I will be back because I promised CDs and DVDs and i also now know they need diapers. Please donate if you are able to

In addition to a place to shower, get haircuts, job training and a whole host of other services, they offer people a sense of dignity, a place to connect and to learn and grow. People come in from all walks of life and undoubtedly have their histories, many of which include trauma. Here they can start walking their path to connection, learn how to move past isolation and get the support they need to learn to love themselves. POTS may be the beginning for some, but it is a place that can help guide people to where they need to go with the right patience and understanding that change is a process but can absolutely happen. The staff is dedicated and caring. The executive director Christina Hanson is one of the most dedicated leaders toward helping those in need, and is excellent administratively which is rare in human services. What goes on at POTS is pretty amazing.

I've been dealing with this shelter before it became the Humane Society of Westchester. I've…read moreadopted 2 senior dogs, fostered kittens, bottle babies and a dog. I always had a contact number in case something happened and I needed to speak to someone no matter the time or day. The shelter is always clean and the animals are well cared for. I never seen any animal in the shelter that was uncared for. Their adoption form shows you that they care who adopts their animals. The employees are professional, friendly, understanding and caring. Tiffany the manager is the person I've been dealing with for many years and I never had a complaint about her. She's sincere about her job. The manager before her wasn't alway pleasant but she did care for the animals. Beverly the lady that answers the phone has always been professional. I will continue to bring my TNR cats to the shelter. That project is a great help to keep the kitten population down. It's worth the money. I read some negative reviews and just want to say don't always let them influence you.

I filled out the application which was easy to fill out and added the vets that my loving babies go to. I called up after filling out the application and I set up an appointment and when I got there they handed her to me and I cried. She was a tiny precious little girl. She had so much sass and was so confident. And now, six months later, she's even more amazing. Thank you for taking such good care of her and giving her the confidence boost that she needed. I highly recommend the Humane Society of Westchester. Give Blue a big kiss from me.
