There's a small area for babies and young toddlers, but otherwise there seemed to be kids between 18 months and 6 or 7 years old in the main spaces. Our favorite part was the larger, open space with balls. There were lots of places to run around. Having an indoor tennis court was unique, but it was a bit crowded on our given day. We entered through the back, through the dance studio entrance, and were a little confused about set-up and cost. I'm surprised they don't have a desk at that entrance.

At the cafeteria, breakfast is first come, first served from 10-11am. They have a very limited menu featuring granola bowls with yogurt, fruit puree, granola, and dried fruits. They also have soft boiled eggs, scones, muffins, coffee, and tea. Everything was fresh, hearty, and delicious. They also serve lunch in the cafeteria, but that requires a reservation. There is a Michelin starred restaurant on the property as well. The spacious grounds are a treat to walk. They rotate the location of the animals so it's a pleasant surprise to happen upon them. We saw goats, pigs, and cows. The pathways have gravel, but they were not super rough. We had two strollers with us and no issues pushing them along. We walked the short loop, but there are longer trails for those who want more. Very family friendly and peaceful for a stroll.

They even had binoculars for the kids to use. We did arts and crafts, and all the kids had a wonderful time. The grounds are open to the public, as there is a hiking path smack dab in the center. There were plenty of people walking through. We spied a cute little café, where one could sit and order breakfast and coffee. I define wouldn't mind stopping here after a run, to have a bite to eat. Blue Hill Restaurant is here, boasting an elegant farm-to-table pre-fixe menu that changes season to season. It's pricey but offers a one-of-a-kind experience, either optional tour of the grounds. This is a beautiful venue that would be an exceptional wedding location. I definitely want to come back and visit, perhaps have dinner. Looks pricey but the menus are intriguing. We went in person hoping to speak with someone directly about the camp and learn more about the program. When we arrived at the school the women at the door told us to call a number posted on the door so someone could come downstairs and speak with us. We were never even welcomed past the front steps and were left standing outside the entire time. After calling the number we were simply told the program was full. No one ever came downstairs to speak with us and no one took the time to explain the program or even mention the possibility of applying next year. The interaction felt very cold, dismissive, and unwelcoming. As someone who works in hospitality I understand how important first impressions and "moments of truth" are. Even if a program is full families should still be treated with kindness, professionalism, and respect. Unfortunately, the way we were treated made me feel very small and unwelcome. Based on this experience I would never want to send my child to a place where families are treated this way.

This is a review of their gym space and not for the whole center. The gym has multiple drawbacks…read morethe most important one being not having multiple machines for strength training. Last summer they changed vendors for the machine and since then they seem to break quite a lot, and the repairs take forever. For example, currently the leg machine has been out of order for three weeks. And the cable machine is broken every week. So during busy times I end up wasting 15 to 30 minutes waiting for equipment. In the summertime it can get very stuffy inside because they don't have adequate airflow or fans. I have made multiple suggestions in their suggestion box, but as of now seen no results. I am hoping they will be moved to action after reading this review. I give them one more month and after that, I'm switching to somewhere else.

Since enrolling our son in July 2019, we have been provided nothing short of high quality child care by a supportive, compassionate, and safety-minded staff and leadership team. We were present during the transition to the current web/app-based communication and documentation tool. It has provided us with a more than adequate level of security and connectivity with the daycare. Since the roll-out of the system last year, it was made clear that it was the parents' responsibility to check-in children on arrival. To think that a teacher should take the extra time - away from the other kids in class - to make up for your own irresponsible mismanagement of the platform is selfish and ridiculous. I, for one, am completely satisfied that the teachers prioritize direct care of the children over task-saturation within an online recording tool. The app-based tool has also provided parents with secure, direct access through a bluetooth-enabled unlocking system. Anyone that would consider providing access to this app to an unauthorized person is a security risk, and I think we are a safer community with this person gone. When I exit the facility, I either wait for someone entering to do so with their own access or I confirm with the staff at the front desk that the person belongs here before opening the door. I hope that everyone would challenge me in the same way when I enter! We are a community of families and should each have a vested interest in the safety of our children that supercedes an ease-of-access mindset. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 health crisis, the leadership at Discovery Village has been completely transparent about the challenges of both managing a business and meeting the demands of working parents in this environment. The center quickly adapted to the new normal by implementing more than the State-required sanitation protocols and providing regular updates to families. We suspended our enrollment in late March and returned to the village in May and have had ZERO complications. The idea that Discovery Village is, was, or has been lax about their cleaning and COVID protocol mandates is a baseless and belligerent accusation. This team is professional to the core! I would be remiss to not mention that our son absolutely loves his teachers at Discovery Village. He is happy as can be every day we pick him up and his learning and curiosity is clearly nurtured. I recommend this center to anyone looking for high quality care by a team that is genuinely invested in the well-being and development of your child. Thank you for all that you do.
