Our 3 1/2 week stay at the Ronald McDonald House was nothing short of extraordinary. Our son Ethan…read morewas in an accident. After 4 surgeries to try to save his foot, he ultimately underwent a below the knee amputation. During what has been an incredibly stressful and overwhelming time for our family, we were welcomed into a place that felt warm, supportive, and truly comforting. From the moment we arrived, the staff and volunteers went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Their kindness, compassion, and attention to detail did not go unnoticed--they created an environment where we could focus on what mattered most, knowing that everything else was taken care of. The house itself was beautifully maintained, clean, and thoughtfully organized. Every space--from the kitchen to the common areas to the private rooms--was designed to provide comfort and a sense of normalcy. The meals, amenities, and little touches throughout the house made a huge difference in our daily lives. What stood out most was the friendliness and compassion of the entire staff. Phil, Jitka, Barbara, Tara, Brylee, Ana, Katheryn, Krista, Ashlyn, Karen- we love you all. Ethan celebrated his 21st birthday at the house. The staff was thoughtful and gracious enough to get him a card and gift. We sincerely appreciate your kindness. We are deeply grateful for everything the Ronald McDonald House provided us--comfort, care, and a true home away from home. It is an incredible organization that makes a meaningful impact on families when they need it most. We will never forget our experience and cannot thank you enough.

What an amazing place for families that need their services…read more I remember growing up and seeing the donation house at several McDonald's locations. To be honest, sometimes you just don't know if your donations will go to the organization unless it is on a big platform. However, I was able to see that this place has provided accommodations, supplies and meals to my sister so she can stay close to the hospital to care for her newborn. I can donate to this wonderful organization cheerfully because I have witnessed what they do for countless families. Everything they need is provided for them at no cost which is simply amazing.

This is a lovely place to spend the day…read more We came around 10:30am on a Saturday. You have to check in at the front entrance and there is sometimes a charge for parking. At the cafeteria, breakfast is first come, first served from 10-11am. They have a very limited menu featuring granola bowls with yogurt, fruit puree, granola, and dried fruits. They also have soft boiled eggs, scones, muffins, coffee, and tea. Everything was fresh, hearty, and delicious. They also serve lunch in the cafeteria, but that requires a reservation. There is a Michelin starred restaurant on the property as well. The spacious grounds are a treat to walk. They rotate the location of the animals so it's a pleasant surprise to happen upon them. We saw goats, pigs, and cows. The pathways have gravel, but they were not super rough. We had two strollers with us and no issues pushing them along. We walked the short loop, but there are longer trails for those who want more. Very family friendly and peaceful for a stroll.

I came here for the tour and tray lunch on a Friday. I booked the 12pm tour with the tray lunch…read moreafter at 1pm. The tour was interesting but rather short and you don't fully see the whole farm. The bakery was probably the best part of the tour since you learn about their whole wheat baking and get to see the mill. The tour was a bit expensive so probably would skip the tour. The tray lunch was good though, the ingredients taste really fresh and you can tell nothing is processed. The farm was large and it was nice to walk around. The greenhouse, the livestock area, apiary, and vegetable field were all really nice to walk around. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

There was a guy in…read morethere who had multiple units and we overheard him talking about how much the price had increased, which should have warned us off. Alas, they raise the rent every few months. Started out at $87 and in less than 7 months, they've raised it to $197. We're taking our business elsewhere. BUYER BEWARE!!!

I was the very first customer at the Hawthorne facility decades ago. I was there until a month…read moreago. Everything that was good had turned bad. By the way, their site adverises 562 5 star reviews, but you should read some of them. You won't see mine, I'm betting. It started with the every-three-months rent increases. If I'd stayed, I would be paying close to $7,000 a year for a 10x15 space with no electricity at a storage site where the front gate hasn't been reliably closed in over a year. The tenant over me decided to store two large bags of ice melt which liquified and dripped into my space causing hundreds of dollars of damage. Another tenant (same one?)) complained that the generator I used to keep batteries charged was leaving "smoke" in the climate controled area. That wasn't true, but I bought outdoor cable covers and moved the generator 30 feet away against the fence. A year later I get a call telling me that "corporate" didn't want anything "electrical" going on and that I couldn't use the generator. Note that I used a Furman industrial power surge protector (for trickle chargers...).Funny thing: at least two other renters used their generators at the same site. I needed to get tree sap off my wife's car and all my cleaning equipment was at Hawthorne. Site manager sees me and says "This isn't a car wash". He also related that another tenant had complained that I had washed a motorcycle there. Horrors! US Storage is at least the fourth owner and operator of this site, and they successfully drove me out. NIce work.
