At Southern Grace Creations they offer art classes dealing with glass and resin, door hangers, canvases, and more. Classes for adults and children, beginner to advanced, and they supply everything you will need to make your art piece: (canvas, window or picture frame, paint, glass, shells, sand, glitter, resin, etc.) Some people choose to bring trinkets like a special sea shell, sand dollars, starfish, small beach wood, necklace, broach, etc. (you can also bring other materials, including canvas and art supplies if you desire) I showed up and was welcomed by Bobbie, the instructor, and since this was my very first time working with resin she was very patient, explained everything about the process, and guided me along nicely. You can choose from either doing your project on canvas or on a framed glass, I chose canvas. (other options available) You pick the size of canvas or size and style of frame and you're ready to go. There's a big variety of crushed glass, shells, and all sorts of materials to put on your project and you can paint it first or work with a blank slate. (stencils are also available if you need them) I chose to draw and paint a basic sky, water, and beach background then cover it in different colors of glass with some shells. After your project is complete Bonnie instructs you how to properly cover it in resin, it's pretty cool. Since it takes 3+ days to cure or set you will need to come back to pick it up, and that's it. Aprons and plenty of space is provided. Bottom line: It's especially easy with Bobbie's patient direction and you can make something that's just fun or make a family heirloom. The owner, Sonja, is an incredibly nice lady who is extremely talented and knowledgeable. Several media are offered, from painting, pottery, prints, jewelry, and more. While the subject matter of most of the painting/prints is African-American-centric, there are others themes on display, such as beachy kind of stuff, historical Pensacola scenes, western, and Native American genres. Sonja let me put a painting on lay-away and kindly called me to remind me about it after a month. When I went to pay off the art, I saw many new (and appealing!) paintings that wowed me. There seems to be quite a turn-over of stock, which makes it exciting to return. Plus...Blue Dot is right next door! Go look at and buy some art, then go grub the best burger in town. It's a two-fer!

It was $12 per adult ($7 for kids) and you can use the ticket for 7 days. I reviewed each piece separately for a better understanding of what you see in each section. I've been vacationing in Pensacola Beach since 1975 when I was a baby. I'm glad I finally got some history of the place I love so much!

Again, my experience is a little different than a normal visit in any given day. I didn't have to pay an entry fee and I was with a large group for a private even. A unique spot for sure, so drop in if you can! We walked over from our hotel (2-min walk) and centrally located downtown where a lot of bars/restaurants are.

I came here for a professional retreat…read more Pros: the staff is very friendly, the grounds are beautiful, if your group has at least 20 people then you can get a meal package, it's secluded, but a short drive from shops and restaurants and has proximity to two airports. Cons: the room was not fully clean. As shown in my photos there were old shoes, socks, and an empty bottle under the bed and it was dusty. The WiFi is slow, there's no tvs in the sleeping quarters, and the water is slow to heat. Sometimes the food is good and sometimes it's just alright. Ample parking.

I really love this camp because it makes me feel like I'm back at home but having more fun than I ever would have. This is probably my other home if I were to live here I would love it.
