Gave Ray from RNB a call to come by to check it out and get an estimate to cleaning up those nasty roots and make an evenly slope with gravel. He came in no time and gave me a good estimate for the front yard and also a drainage problem in the driveway area. Scheduled, there was good communication through out the process. I called Pacific Tree Experts and they made the job look easy. They cut back the umbrella part of the tree and trimmed the large branches back allowing the tree to look more even on all sides. The cleanup was do very well. When Home Advisor referred this company, I was impressed with the prompt response. Turns out…read moredifferent. His price was double anyone elses, including the organic firm that will do the work, conserve the chip and do cool things with the long tree branches...but there were more serious concerns. Pacific Tree Service does not use a chipper, so all of this excellent wood would become a problem in our land fill, rather than a solution, and Jason stands hard that chippers are too expensive for him to use. Worse, he is unvaccinated and standing hard on his decision. I didn't realize he is from LA until I saw his cell number. I find those LA folks love threats. So, over a quote and my concerns about his unvaxxed status, Jason sent me ten threatening texts summing with threats of legal action...which I'm guessing is exactly how he would handle a complaint for bad work...with aggression and personal insults. He decided being unvaxed (with small children) was more important than work for his men. So, this person? definitely no aloha, no kuleana, no kokua and thousands of dollars higher than the wonderful folks I chose.

Jason got started and it was evident that he was passionate about his work and kept things tidy. I was able to pay him in increments as he requested and used electronic payment which was very convenient and secure. He completed the project in a very reasonable timeframe and I was quite pleased with his work and work ethic. Not sure how much a contractor would've charged but I was pleased with the job and the reasonable price I paid. I'd highly recommend Jason as a handyman and would use him again if the need arises.
