I started a new used car search in early summer of 2015 as my car was used up, falling apart, and breaking down far too often (the 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue is not known for its quality). I preferred a Honda or Toyota, but in the Berwick/Bloomsburg/Danville area there is only a Honda deanship. After my initial search in the Bloomsburg/Danville area ranging from new to used to shady dealerships, I ended up at Hawkins Chevrolet. GM dealerships were not high on my list after I suffered a severe service issue at Alexander Family Buick GMC in Bloomsburg, but this was the last stop before having to travel outside of the area. Hawkins recently moved from within Danville to just outside of it on Route 11. New location is sharp looking, but where to park when looking is sometimes an odd situation. First difference between this and other dealerships was Alex, my salesperson, did a computer search for cars that would meet my requirements, saving both of us time. He wanted to show me a used Cruise but none were available in my price range and we ended up at a used Toyota. No forceful sales tactics, test drive was smooth, and they had zero problems with my mechanic looking at the car. Alex gave me a decent price on my trade (wasn't worth much) and price of the car got down to low midrange for its model. Financing got me an amazing rate and didn't sell me any useless extras. I ended up spending slightly more than anticipated but left with a decent car at an ok price after taxes, tags, and fees (these can add up faster than expected.) Overall, I'd return for future car purchases as I was treated fairly, and Hawkins Chevrolet did a good job.

Found out that the front caliper and the piston were shot and I lost all of my brake fluid. These guys put me in, performed an inspection w a quote, and completed the job within 6-7 hrs. I'm not a car guy but I put the repair and inspection information into an LLM and it stated that it was a bit pricey but a super convenient time frame. These folks were friendly and had available coffee. As somebody that came to the garage in a pinch, I'm satisfied with their work.

Which was okay because I had gotten approved with SNAP Finance. The total cost is about $2,000 and some change. Not bad, we can afford the payments. After getting the estimates, the next day, we get a call. We need a new transmission! Another $7,000 OR $8,000 and change!?! The car has been to Hawkins. They looked over the whole vehicle, NOTHING about needing a new transmission, JUST TRANSMISSION fluid!! So, NOW our car can't go over 15mph. People WARNED me about George's. We will never go there again! They did something to my transmission and we will be calling Hawkins and asking them if they noticed anything wrong with the transmission. I won't ever recommend this garage to anyone! There are OTHERS that accept SNAP FINANCE. Unless you want to get screwed over with your car, go to George's, they'll have you drain your bank account easily! SO MAD!!!!! I wouldn't even give them one star but can't post this unless I do.

Napa seemed to have a relationship with Mausteller's. When the Napa guys were testing the battery, the guys from Mausteller's came over and offered their tester that would load the battery for a more accurate test. They tested the batter to verify it was bad and then quickly installed it. During the installation, they used a device to keep the electronics in the van from losing their memory averting the need to reprogram settings. Randy, Bud, and Scott were very personable, thorough, and explained things well. Scott was extremely careful while installing the battery to ensure nothing was damaged. Excellent service, courteous people, and very engaging.

I needed tires installed, an alignment, rear brakes & rotors, and an oil change. The New Garage invited me to bring in my car that day so they could take a look and show me exactly what I needed - and didn't need. After doing so, they explained everything to me in great detail, answering my numerous questions, and even spoke to my dad (an auto enthusiast who, even at 39, I respect above everyone on all things car) on the phone. The mechanics fit me in the schedule immediately following delivery of my VW's new shoes from Tire Rack and had the job completed in a matter of hours. These men were kind, reasonably priced (I called around to get multiple quotes), and very accommodating. I appreciated being treated respectfully and fairly & I highly recommend them!!! You should definitely give these guys your business!!!! You will not regret it....

***Caution Service Department, Avoid***…read more We have a van that has always been taken care of on normal scheduled visits to BZ in Lewisburg. We live closer to Fairfield so started taking the car there for service. I'm posting reviews for everyone so they don't get ripped off. I will also be filing with the better business bureau and contacting Doge direct. Our van is driven from Danville to Bloom once a day and during the school year and not much during the summer. Here's a breakdown. We had explained that we don't want to dump a bunch of money into the vehicle, but every time we get it fixed, it's a new problem. I feel like they're ripping people off or they don't know what they're doing. 03/28/18. Check engine light. Replaced a bunch of spark plugs, 4 injectors and coil, heater hose assembly. Total cost $1,060.45 04/09/18. Check engine light back on. Charge to hook up to system $39.95. Stated that this is totally separate from previous repair a week prior. 04/17/18. Fuel pump seal and housing leaking. Van needed a new fuel tank assembly. Total cost $1609.85 12/03/18. Check engine light on again, van makes a loud noise over 30mph sometimes. Couldn't get us in for awhile, so we left the van there for 2 weeks until they could look at it on 12/18/18. They stated they couldn't find anything wrong. 07/25/19 Check engine light. Couldn't get us in for awhile, so we left the van there while going on vacation. They said the noise from a previous check in December was due to the tires, although the noise went away after they did something to the transmission this repair. They stated the engine light was from the transmission and it needed replacement of trans filter flushing cooler and solenoid range sensor. Total cost $1346.20 08/17/19 Picked the vehicle up from the July repair and the next day 08/18/19, check engine light is back on. 09/19/19. Brought the van back in. They worked on it for 15 minutes and charged us almost $40, even after telling the manager we shouldn't have to pay the $40 and they said it's a separate issue. Now this time they want $2940 for a catalytic converter. Enough is Enough.

So after many months of searching for a new truck and watching so called sales and incentives, I've…read morelearned something about Fairfield. Their website is very deceiving on pricing. Home page has a listing for 34k for a vehicle. You click on the more details and the price goes up over 4.5k. Also over the course of 3 months they advertised many sales but the price never changed. All they did is change the discount name. It was Fairfield discount in Nov, then Employee pricing in Dec, and now again Fairfield discount. The price never changed. When I questioned this when I was there, they disagreed but the website doesn't lie about what they've done with the discount name. They should also tell you upfront that most people will not qualify for the 4.5k in rebates that they use to reduce the price on the home page. When you talk price they try and convince you that 0% interest makes up for the price. That's should have nothing to do with the price of the vehicle wether I pay 0% or 5% tell me the price of the vehicle. Very few people really like buying a new vehicle, but I hate what is deceptive advertising to get people in the door. I bet if I watched this vehicle another couple months the discount name will change but the price will stay realistically the same. Pay attention to the price over time. Don't be enticed by the, "what would you like your payment to be". Also salesman was definitely not very experienced at selling vehicles. Just seemed very nervous not sure of what to say. A day after our visit he sent an awkward misspelled text asking if we were done with his services. Definitely. It just seemed extremely odd. The other area dealers I've been looking at are much more upfront with their pricing. Would definitely compare pricing in the area before I would go with Fairfield.
