Schlage Camelot Bright Brass Electronic Keypad Door Lock with Accent Handle and Auto Lock. Home Depot price 129.00 Security Lock & Key price 324.00. This place is a rip-off. This place is not owned by John Hawkins anymore. When he owned it, the prices were right and so was costumer service. Not now. Go somewhere else. Went back there to see if there was an error in the priceing. Person behind the counter said no error and we dont set the prices. You could tell he was ashamed to say it. He knew himself I got the shaft. I can see them being a litte higher than a big box store but 195.00 more? I can see why the Mom and Pops stores go out of business. Its places like this that give them a bad name. I'll never go back and I hope this review will help you make up your mind. read more

I got a $25 fob on Amazon and Hawkins programmed and cut it for me for a third of what the dealer was asking. They know locks there and have a lot of inventory in their in store shop. read more

These guys are great! My dealership gave me a wrong key code and they say there and helped me figure it out! Amazing service even better people! Hawkins was recommended, so I called about some lock work for two doors in our house. My call was answered, but then I was put on hold for 12 minutes. Not really big deal, the guy who came back to the phone was super nice and spent time listening to my request and set up an appt at our house for 2 days later 3/2/17. He gave a 4 hour window, starting about 1pm. On the day of the appt, no one called, no one showed up. I tried calling twice, once about 5pm and then again at 5:45, no answer, no voice mail. Tried three times to call the next day 03/03/17 different hours of the day, no answer on any of my calls. My husband tried to call also, again no answer, no voice mail. Very disappointing! read more

I ordered a few "chip" keys online for my wife's Escalade and went to my local hardware store to have them cut (mistake). After partially messing up one key and destroying the other, I decided to try an expert to have another cut. Folks...... if you need something done CORRECTLY & professionally the first time when it comes to key cutting, locksmithing, etc., these are the people to do business with. I needed to get a couple of spare car keys I bought on eBay cut (not programmed. Just cut). They were the kind with remote buttons that, from my understanding, are hit and miss if you get them cut at WalMart, Lowes, etc. Apparently, just because you get a key cut, doesn't mean it's going to work. These other non-locksmith stores have a failure rate. Not wanting to risk the money I spent on the keys, I took them to Hawkin's. I showed up around 8am and they were open, which was nice because most locksmiths open a little later. One of the guys took the keys, had them cut in a couple minutes and only charged me $6. Both keys worked flawlessly. read more

I have texts and emails that I requested them to come by 11:00 am because I was driving from Fredericksburg. They said ok, we will wait. Then while I was on my way, I called them several times and texted them updating my arrival which was 10:15am. They said, no problem. They started at 10:30 and charged me extra for 11/2 hours which I don't understand. Every item was packed in boxes and in ikea moving bags which they called plastic bags. The reason I packed in ikea bags so they are easy to carry and protected my items. I worked as hard as they did to make sure they don't complaint but the whole time they complained and advised me to trash my belongings. They gossiped with my sister complaining. I am a US citizen but foreigner who speaks in an accent. Their first question was; where are you from? They mistreated me, abused my belongings. Instead of two hours work which my other mover who loaded the truck completed in two hours, they did it in 5 hours because the whole time they were taking tea break and snack break and of course talking breaks. It was a 3 hours job but I got charged for extra hours and for their trip to my location which is beyond acceptable. They charge you over $175 just because they had to drive to your location. This business is a heartless scam. They are racists and prejudiced as well. I have documents saved up that they are scambugs and are liars. The movers handled my belongings very carelessly, and some of my very expensive items were broken and damaged due to the way furniture and boxes were stacked on top of them. Items were placed and piled without proper care, which caused significant damage. I also believe I was overcharged for the service provided and feel I was not charged fairly for what was done. Because of the situation, I had to hire another moving company to help undo the damage and assist in bringing my furniture down safely, which resulted in additional costs. Altogether, I suffered thousands of dollars in damages and losses. After I left my review, I received multiple calls from the company threatening legal action if I did not remove my review, which I felt was an attempt to pressure or intimidate me. I have photographic evidence and eyewitness accounts showing the condition of my belongings before and after the move. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Mighty Movers of Lynchburg.

My family has been dealing with Hawkins for YEARS and we've always been 100% satisfied. But the icing on the cake happened today. A friend lost the key to his car so we went by a Chevy dealership and got the keys model number so it could be cut. We were really worried as the other locksmiths couldn't cut the key for some reason after calling a few just because they were close by. Then decided to go see Hawkins because I knew he's the best in the business. We got there and he was closed!! As we stood there he pulled up cause he was driving by and saw us, and even though he was off and didn't need to, he stopped and opened up just to make us the key we needed to start the car. You'll never find a more genuine, get it done right the first time, every time locksmith in Lynchburg. read more

My husband & I recently bought our daughter a car & it only came with 1 key. It should have had a keyless remote but did not. We ordered 2 keyless remote keys from Amazon. I priced around to see how much it would cost to cut & program the keys. I even went as far as calling a place in Roanoke. They quoted me $280. I called Berglund & they quoted me anywhere from $250-$300. I thought that was rather pricey especially for a 2005. I went to Hawkins & they were able to cut & program not 1 but 2 keys for less than $100. The young man that helped me was awesome! Great customer service! I saved a lot of money by getting some laser-cut car keys made here for a new vehicle compared to the dealer's quoted price. The keys work great. Staff is super friendly. Prices are reasonable. The store has quite the old "mom and pop" appeal to it, and has a slight pleasant cigar smell for some reason :-). It's nice to be able to buy local & receive great service. These guys are great. My SUV had a busted chipped key which was causing my immobilizer to now allow the car to start on a regular basis. I didn't have a master key so I could not program my own and gave them a call. They ended up cutting and programming a cheap ebay key I had in the car and cut me one of their own so I had a spare. We have an old Honda with crumbled keys. I brought the pieces of the old keys to the guys at Hawkins, and they made us two new ones, using laser cutting. The price was well below half of what a dealer would charge. Nice people there. read more
