Let me save you some time, money, and heartache. Hiring Hawks Landscaping was one of the worst decisions I've ever made, and I want to make sure you don't make the same mistake yourself. I hired them to do some general maintenance of my property in the summer. They charged me over $1700 for general maintenance. I was shocked with how expensive it would be - it was more than what others quoted, but I was willing to pay because I assumed they were going to do a great job for that price. Not only did they not finish any of what they had been contracted to do, they destroyed and removed two bushes from my property, left wood chips everywhere in my lawn, and left my place an absolute mess. My wife and I spent hours of our own time cleaning up the mess they left behind. When I first saw my property after they came out I was mortified - I figured they had to leave halfway through the service because nothing was completed. I had to call the project manager of the job, Brett Londre, and ask what the hell had happened. He apologized and agreed to come back out to finish the job. The second time They came out, they once again, didn't complete everything they were contracted to do - when I asked the project manager in an email why he didn't do it, he replied, "because we didn't have time." My nosy neighbor who watched them work told me that the workers were messing around on their phones the entire time and said she didn't see them do much work at all. I finally called the Chief of Operations, Gary Urban, to say there was no way that I would pay $1700 dollars for botched work and although he apologized and acknowledged they didn't complete the work, he would either send ANOTHER crew out for A THIRD TIME, or drop the price to around $1200. There was no chance I would have this team out a third time to my house, and when I argued about the price, they threatened to put a lien on my property. It was unprofessional and looks like a 3rd grader came out to tend to my property, and I ended up paying almost $1200 dollars for it. For the love of God, go with a different landscaping company. Stay as far away from this company as possible. They destroyed my landscaping, salted significantly more than needed to charge more money, and their crews were drinking beer while plowing. I have been working with snow removal companies for 10 years at many properties and I have never had an experience as bad as this. read more

Hawks has done a terrible job landscaping at my condo. Franklin Oaks in Franklin. As grass started growing this year, several times they let it get 6-8 inches high and when they did cut, no trimming was done. Planting beds have not been touched as of July 22nd and are full of weeds in addition to bushes never being trimmed. I would never recommend Hawks as they seem to not be very good at what they do. read more

Hawks is located in Steins. I called for a tree removal estimate. Jerry (a certified arborist) just showed up one morning and I saw him in my driveway. He was in the area. I didn't mind. At least he showed up and gave a free estimate, unlike Hoppe. Hawks estimate was way lower than any other estimate I received. He gave me the off season discount. read more

Terrarium plans were in full effect today as my friend and I stumbled across Hawks. She's much more well-versed in the botanical world and is my forever plant consultant so she came along. We were looking for cacti and few other plants, all of which Hawks provided a lovely variety. The nursery was awesome, and the staff were extremely helpful and seemed to really enjoy their job. Not to mention the plants were AMAZING; my friend spotted a jade plant that she was in complete awe of. In addition to the spectacular plant care, the prices were right. We saw several lovely and large house plants (in great condition) for $10-$20, which is more than fair. If you're looking to add some green to this otherwise dreary time of year, Hawks is your place! read more

Very disappointed with this company. They were hired to do snow removal (which was a complete disaster) and complete lawn/landscape maintenance at my condo complex. They can't handle the basic maintenance and have been detrimental to our entire property. High end condos looks almost like abandoned property. It's a shame. I would not recommend them - they are very good talkers and excuse makers but do not hold up their end of the deal even when they promise and agree they've done a bad job - they don't even take ever step to correct what they've done/not done. read more

These geniuses can't tell were property lines are. They keep aerating and dumping weed & feed on my neighbor's lawn. I have called and talked to the owner 3 times. He thinks it is no big deal. Update: After 3 phone calls the owner couldn't have care less. Now with a review on Yelp he contacts me. His concern was not with tearing up my neighbors newly planted strips of sod or burning his lawn because it was getting twice as much fertilizer as it should... he was worried about his company doing "work" for free!!! read more

I love this place- it is so beautiful! In the warmer months they have a beautiful nursery and a helpful staff to help you choose what's right for your yard and in the winter they have Christmas trees and the store is decorated in holiday decor. They also sell gifts and furniture (for outdoor use mostly). We choose to spend a little extra and get knowledgeable and friendly service and shop in a very nice environment with unique plants and gifts. read more

Originally we were pleased with the information received on reseeding our lawn. Unfortunately, they did not listen when we explained what we needed. We even brought in part of our "good" grass and part of the "bad" grass, so that they knew what we wanted to avoid. The grass seed we bought on their recommendation produced the same bad grass that we had just killed with Roundup. Very disappointed with their solution to the problem. We got a discount of new grass seed. They did not offer to send anyone out to look at the problem and they did not give us any refund on the produce we bought. We are in the process of pulling out all the grass and will have to buy sod or reseed with a better seed. read more

Went to the home show again this year and saw the same person that sold us a $4000 backyard landscaping of flowers and bushes in the corners and all I wanted to do was yell to everyone "stay away". After we signed the agreement, the crew of 3 guys came out around July in a huge dry spell!! I was worried at that point if the plants would make it and was told, no worries we had a year guarantee. No one checked on the backyard after the work was done from Hawks. They forgot to remove a stump in middle of yard and replace grass there. So the guys came back after I called and finished that job. This past year 2013, we were missing about 8-9 plants but you really couldn't tell because of all the weeds. We had to purchase about 6 huge loads of wood chips! I was pulling grass out of this flower bed! I do not know if that is what is suppose to happen! I called Hawks and was told that perennials were not under warranty but the designer came out and said she would replace these flowers but I had to pick them up and do the work myself! I am just waiting to see what this Spring has in store for me! Very unhappy with this job! read more
