Heather Batts and this store took me for the wildest, most frustrating ride. They "ordered my dress" and promised a May delivery and to reach out by April 2023. Come end of May, still no communication. I had to call, text, and email for several weeks until I finally received a response. She promised my dress was ready and we set a date for my first try-on. I arrived at the location and she looked at me like I was crazy and asked that I leave. She claimed we never set an appointment and that she hasn't looked through the boxes yet to see if my dress arrived. She told me she'd call me back by EOD to set a new time. She did the same runaround - never called, never texted. I had to try again for weeks to get ahold of her. Finally, we talked and set a new date to pickup my dress. The day comes around and she said she couldn't get a flight back to Charlotte and was back home in Nashville. We set a new date - yet again - and she stands me up AGAIN. Claims her "store was broken into and she was too emotional to stay and needed to reschedule." Her store is on the second floor with a locked elevator bank?? Now it has been 3 different times she has stood me up. We scheduled yet another appointment and she - AGAIN - stands me up saying she got into a car accident. A few days later she drops off my dress to my alterations store with a promise to refund me (unfortunately, I paid in cash). I have followed up with her for the refund since July and still nothing. Every time I text her she gives me yet another lie as to why she can't refund me just yet (paypal is down, her credit machine isn't working, etc.). This is the most horrible store and person on earth. Buying your dress is supposed to be one of the best experiences while wedding planning and she made it the most stressful. read more

Heather bought a wedding dress from my wife, the issue is, she never paid her for it. The price was agreed for $1,852.00. The dress was shipped, and the payment canceled after and Heather is refusing to answer any attempts of communication to collect payment. We are getting law enforcement involved this week. Many people seem to have horror stories of this place, I would stay FAR far away, as they seem to do nothing but make peoples lives feel like horror movies. Came here with a girlfriend to help her look for dresses. We had to park in the Marriott garage. I pass by this place all the time and was surprised at how much I never noticed this place. We came in and I was in awe. The whole store is so refreshing and beautiful. They have a huge selection of dresses. My friend told the girl that was helping us an idea of what she was looking for. We looked around at dresses and picked a few for her to try. She narrowed it down to a few and still wanted to shop around for other options. Overall, the experience was pleasant. Future brides, PLEASE read this!! When I originally purchased my dress from Hayden Olivia in February 2022, I had a great experience. Everyone was very nice, Baylee took my dress order and made me feel like she knew exactly what she was doing. The dress was ordered, confirmed, and I was given a timeline. In June, I got an email that Baylee was leaving, and that's where my issues started. I was given the contact info for Heather, the owner, to further communicate with about my dress. To summarize, Heather is simply awful at communication. Almost every time you email her, she takes a week or so to respond and that is with me following up. I would call, and no one would answer the phone at the store or return my voicemails. In August, I finally got an email back saying my dress was going to be in, one month past the estimated date on my contract. I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks later to pick it up, stating multiple times that I am not local and am making a trip to get this dress. Heather said she would confirm with me before the appointment. The week of the appointment comes, I hear nothing. I emailed, no response. Email again, Heather said actually she can't make it because she doesn't live in the area, she lives in another state, and can't fly in that weekend and has only one other employee and quote "I have never had a problem finding consultants who were willing to work weekends- today it feels impossible" I make another appointment, again stressing that I am from out of town. About 24 hours before that appointment Heather emails telling me no one can make it and asks again if I'm local. I told her that I did not think this was acceptable and asked for different options. Heather couldn't give me a real option to get my dress - she proposed multiple things, including mailing and driving it to me when she eventually came into town, but never addressed the terms of the contract that said if the dress leaves the store, it is not Hayden Olivia's responsibility anymore. I made multiple changes to my dress in production, that I paid for, and wanted to guarantee these were right. I then posted in a private bride Facebook group trying to see if anyone else was going through this and trying to find a solution that would get me my dress. The next morning Heather responded that she was sending my dress to Atlanta and if I didn't take down my Facebook post she would "send this over to our attorney for defamation of my business." She stated what I said on Facebook was untrue, and that she was not withholding my dress from me. While she proposed options, again she never addressed the terms of the contract, so she technically was withholding the dress. I take down the post, and just start begging for my dress. She gave me the option of 10 days that I could come to the store to get it. I was desperate at this point, so I picked a day, and for the third time, drove 3 hours to Charlotte. Again I had to email Heather twice to get confirmation this appointment was actually going to happen. When I got there, Heather was there, but she NEVER once apologized or even brought up the incident. She was with us the whole time and acted like nothing ever happened. I was never offered a free veil, I was never offered anything as an apology for having to deal with this. At the end of the appointment, she offered to send me suggestions for tailors in my area- not shocking that 2 weeks later I've heard nothing from her. Hayden Olivia is a beautiful store, but if you want the wedding dress process to be a fun, relaxing, stress free experience, I would avoid it at all costs. There are other places in the area to get the designers that they sell. I thought I was going to get a high end experience, and now I just have a dark cloud surrounding the dress I am supposed to wear at my wedding. I've cried many tears and was treated horribly the minute Heather came into the picture. Dealing with Heather has been the worst part of my wedding planning, and I really just don't want another bride to go through this terrible experience. read more

I visited Hayden Olivia for an Anne Barge trunk show after finding a dress that I loved on vacation in Nashville. I wasn't super into the idea of dress shopping, and had no plans to drag it out -- I just wanted to try on the same dress one more time before making a decision. Little did I know how incredible the experience would be! My appointment was with Hunter and she couldn't have been more delightful or more knowledgeable. She encouraged me to try some other styles, just for comparison, and it was so much fun! But I kept going back to the same dress and told Hunter how much I loved it, but that I also really loved straps and a v-neck. I kept telling her that that was the only thing missing from the dress, but I still really loved it enough for it to be the one. It took Hunter about 2 seconds to say, "I have an idea!" She took me back to the dressing room with two dresses, and started crafting my dream dress! She took a pic of her creation, texted it to the Anne Barge team and asked if they could make it work, and voila! My custom, better-than-I-could've-dreamed dress was born! Unfortunately, due to Covid, I didn't get to go back for my final try-on, but I was beyond happy with the result. I can't say enough wonderful things about Hunter and the team at Hayden Olivia! AVOID this place! Making a LONG story as short as I can. This place is not run ethically. I ordered my dress in March 2023. In August I received an email that my dress and additional pieces are ready and when I pay the final deposit, the dress will be shipped from the designer. I paid immediately then was basically ghosted. I reached out weeks later, multiple times, to get a reply. When I received a reply, the owner, Heather, said she will check in with the designer and give me an update within 24 hours. I hear nothing for WEEKS all while trying to contact them with multiple failed attempts. I get an email in October (over a month after paying final deposit) to set up first look then don't hear from her again for days to which I am again sending multiple emails and calling. Side note, over those two months, I asked multiple times for shipping info and was NEVER given any. I emailed the designer personally to which they told me they don't even work with this boutique anymore and haven't since BEFORE I ordered my dress. So I have clearly been lied to for 7 months. After the designer reached out to Heather, she replied to them that she found an "abandoned" dress that she gave to me. I was unaware of all of this information until after I took "my" dress home. When trying on the dress, Heather made multiple comments about how the size on the dress tag was the size I ordered blah blah, turns out it wasn't even my dress and so again more lies. I emailed Heather, after finding out that she gave me some "abandoned" dress and lied about the sizing, that I would appreciate if she paid for the alterations for putting me through all of this. She agreed IF I went to a place she recommended. I did and sent her the total of the alterations. She told me it would be "processed" and I would receive a payment within 24 hours. It has now been over 2 weeks and I haven't heard from her. Ultimately, I paid thousands of dollars for a dress that she never purchased. Then had to pay over $1,000 for alterations to make some random dress fit me. I gave her multiple opportunities to make this right in private but she clearly ONLY cares about money and not her customers. AVOID this place! I had a great experience at Ladies of Lineage and wish I would've chosen them instead! read more

This was one of two bridal shops I went to in Charlotte and I was very impressed. The store itself is gorgeous and there are tons of different styles from ballroom to sleek crepe styles. I visited the week of a Haley Paige trunk show and they had several styles to choose from. Tip- if you're really loving a dress, have the bridal consultant take you to the front room with the windows facing Tryon St. because the natural light is amazing! The service was great when we were in there, little did we know what was about to come. I had the most wonderful experience here! I had already purchased a dress elsewhere and just had my doubts. So I made an appointment and visited with my MOH. I love that they give you clips to mark the dresses you want to try on and really give you the space to just explore the selection and pull them while you shop. I commented that I thought a specific dress was gorgeous but I'd never wear it and they encouraged me to try it on anyway! We were there for a while, I tried on several dresses and switched back into a few for perspective and it really helped. The ladies were so patient and understanding through the whole process and told me to take my time. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! And bonus - the dress I said I would never wear ended up being the one! I would have never tried it on without their encouragement and them pinning it to show me that my concerns could be addressed. My MOH loved a dress and they let her try it on. It was so much fun and so sweet of them to let her do that. I was there this weekend and I had the best time! Baylee was the consultant that I had and she ended up picking the dress I purchased! I went to several other local bridal shops and this one was by far my favorite! Baylee made my whole party feel included and welcomed. There was another party there looking for their dress and the layout of the shop made it to where you would have no idea someone else was there. Baylee did such an amazing job listening and watching my facial expressions in the different dresses, that she picked one last one and that was my dress. Baylee was also one of the nicest and helpful consultants that I had and I visited 5 shops. The dresses are expensive compared to some other shops, but worth it. I did not think I would find my dress, I had some serious contenders but nothing I knew was my dress until she pulled it. I really cannot rave enough about this place! Very nice dresses and a beautiful show room (though they share space with a family apartment so it was kind of funny because it was such an elegant location to hear screaming kids running was a little disarming. I will say that they are geared in the 4,000k price range and up -which was a bit more than I was looking to spend in all honestly . Unlike Sarah W. I did see the prices clearly marked on the tags so it prevented me from trying on that 10k stunner myself...which I came close to doing! It made a great place to find a dress (and/or style) and look elsewhere to buy (I know a bride who did this) . They did have a sample sale going on but even with the sample sale it was still in the 4k range. They had a small selection of rack dresses for mid 1,000Ks but most were larger sizes and not really what I was looking for (lace). While my initial experience was seriously amazing, my dress came in with the wrong changes made to it. They took a week to "quality check" the dress, wouldn't answer or return my calls to make an appointment to come try it on, took 5 days to respond to my initial email asking about how to make the appointment to try it on, and during all that time didn't notice the wrong alterations were made to it. They told me I was wrong when I pointed it out until they looked at my order form. I highly recommend getting everything in writing, keeping up with your copy, and getting a delivery date not just a shipping date. Overall I still love my dress, the quality of the dress is great, and they gave me a refund on the change fee after not communicating with me on my second item and not being upfront to me by saying it had been shipped when they didn't have a tracking order number because it wasn't shipped yet(not in response to the initial mistake). They don't get back to you within 24 or 48 hours if you aren't a new customer. For my second item I bought - I called every day they were open, while they were open for 5 days (only once until day 4 I called 3 times still no response) and left a voice mail 3 of those days before finally getting through just asking for an update on when it would ship and get in to coordinate with the absolutely amazing alterations. They do not seem to prioritize you after you have paid. read more

I had a great experience with Hayden Olivia for finding my wedding dress. My budget was significantly lower than most of the dresses in the store, but they have a great sample section! Samples were 50-70% off the original price. If your looking for a sample, they had a great selection. Also, I felt that even though I was spending a decent amount less than other girls shopping at the store (I did purchase a sample), I was treated no differently. Though it's very posh, Hayden Olivia was underwhelming. I had 2 visits here, and neither time did I feel like my consultant had any enthusiasm for me as a client. I was let loose to pick a few dresses, I tried them on, a card was filled out with my preferred dresses, and that was it. On both occasions, I was sent home and never followed up with again. I really don't expect to be coddled during this process, but it really felt like my consultant could care less if I ever came back. She was just there to facilitate trying on some very expensive gowns for a half hour or so, and then the job was over. At this price point, you don't expect a bare minimum experience but once I looked past the elegant ambiance, my visits here were confusingly mediocre. I found myself totally baffled about why this place seemed to be a 'must' on the bridal shopping list. I've visited nearly every bridal salon in Charlotte in my hunt for the right gown, so I have some perspective on what's out there. In short: their selection is modest, their inventory is pricey, the consultant showed no more interest in me than what you'd get at David's Bridal. This place was not a win in my book. read more

The place is really nice and set up really well. The atmosphere is a little dark, but other than that its nice. They dont have a lot of selection, but what they have is nice. So why 1 star? Well here was my experience. My first trip there. Upon entering I was told to "pick whatever I liked to try on". That was a little disheartening because I had a budget and no dress had a price tag so what if I picked and tried on a $10,000 dress and fell in love with it when my budget is way under that? Luckily I knew what I was looking for and what dresses were in my price range. I tried on a bunch of dresses and picked one I like the most. I decided this was the dress. I asked them about if they needed to take my measurements and they took a couple. I paid 50% and left. Months later I got a call asking me to come in to take my measurements. Being that I was out of town this was not feasible, so they said I could take them myself or go to a seamstress. I opted to take them myself. I then went in for my second time. Upon stepping into the dressing room I was told that my bustier was cheap and theirs was much better. I said I would try theirs on. I tried it on but I am not straight up and down and I have hips so their bustier kept rolling up. They said something along the lines of: its too bad since theirs is so nice. So I stuck with mine. I was then told that if the dress did not fit that it was because I took the measurements and I should have come in (which would require flying down to NC). I tried the dress on and the seamstress was very receptive to taking out the crinoline. She was also receptive about shortening the dress. However she not receptive at all about the wrinkles in the top of the dress, or fixing the waist line which had a weird poof going on. She argued, eye rolled, and had a general attitude. I was surprised by this because I would think you want the bride to look her best and its not like its a free service. Anyways she agreed to make the changes. Everyone left angry (except me who was more disheartened). The third trip. The waist had been raised too much and the fabric cut so now that could not be fixed. Some of the work fixed the wrinkling. The new problem was the dress was about 2 inches too big. She argued about just tacking it to my bustier and if I needed it taken in before the wedding I could fly down again (not going to happen). Finally after all the arguing she agreed to take it in. She said it would be ready the next morning. We left and talked about it and then decided to just take the dress to another seamstress, so we went back to pick up the dress. The fourth and final trip. I got there and asked if I could just take my dress. I was told that she just finished doing the work (so why she said it was going to take her another full day I have no idea). We took the dress home where I tried it on again. She only took it in at the top near the breasts and did not take it in at the waist, where now it was wrinkling like crazy. We took it to another seamstress who fixed it within 2 hours. I wish the waist fabric wasnt cut so they could have fixed that too. Also I was told by them that I would have to steam my dress. I paid $350 to have my dress hacked and to hear arguing for hours. Terrible customer service. The people who work at the boutique are very nice but why they didnt step in during all the arguing is beyond me. I would recommend this boutique to someone who: has a huge budget, is straight up and down so you can use their bustier, lives locally, and who doesnt need any alterations. read more

I made the apt, drove up from Florida, tried the dress on for the first time, and fell in love! I got a $2,530 dress for $1,900! My initial experience with Hayden Olivia, specifically Hunter, was amazing. The choosing and sale of my dress went perfectly. After that, the ball was dropped massively by the bridal consultant. She never checked up during fittings done by a seamstress brought in by the company. I left my final fitting visibly upset after arguing with the seamstress and being told "my body" and "the material" were the reasons for my dress being virtually destroyed and she didn't bother to confront it, she just let me leave almost in tears. I spent the rest of the day crying and trying to figure out how to get a dress two weeks before my wedding. I ordered a new dress online and took my original dress to a new seamstress hoping one of the two options would work out. On sight, the new seamstress all but "ew"ed the job done by the "professional" at Hayden Olivia. She basically reconstructed the entire dress in under a week and worked miracles on my beautiful gown. My suggestion to anyone using this bridal salon in the future is to research your seamstress and don't just take their word for someone. If you have someone you trust, go with them. And be more vocal during your visits and fittings since apparently I wasn't enough and I got dismissed and did not feel nearly as special as a bride should when she gets her gown. I bought my wedding dress at Hayden Olivia this morning and I couldn't have had a better experience! First of all, the store itself is just so stunningly beautiful. All the girls who work there were so nice and made me feel so welcome. My stylist, Shay, was so amazing. She was so nice and really listened to what I was looking for. She let me try on as many dresses as I wanted, and actually recommended the dress that I ended up buying, based on how I was reacting to the first dresses I tried on. They had such a huge selection of dresses and, since I'm not stick skinny, I was worried that some of the samples wouldn't fit, but 99% of them fit! Also, their appointment times are a full 2 hours, so I never felt rushed or like there wasn't going to be enough time to try on everything I wanted to try on. The manager, Hunter, was also great and walked my parents and I through the ordering and purchasing process. I really can't recommend this place enough! This should be your first stop when you're looking for a wedding dress. read more

I do not have enough wonderful things to say about Hayden Olivia!! Heather (the owner) and Hunter worked tirelessly to help me get a dress that I loved. It took 3 visits and ~12 hours total in the store for me to settle on a dress. I had looked at places in Charlotte, NYC, and Chicago but was set on buying my dress from Hayden Olivia because I loved the team so much. Needless to say, I was certainly one of the most challenging brides they see - completely indecisive and hyper critical of how everything looked on me. They both worked with me - using things I had liked from all of the dresses I tried on across the country and in their store - to help me find the dress that fit exactly what I was looking for. Perfection is what comes to mind. From the service to the gown selection to the finishing touches through alterations. Hayden Olivia made my entire gown shopping experience perfect. Laura was incredible to work with. She suggested I try a gown on I never would have dreamed of selecting and it turned out to be THE ONE! She was never pushy, just wanted to help make me look and feel my best. Her styling suggestions were spot on and I wish I could have her dress me everyday! I felt like she was a friend guiding me through each step. She worked with my budget, needs and desires and I can't thank her enough for everything she did, above and beyond! Their seamstress, Mai, is incredible at what she does. She knew exactly what needed to be done and I trusted her to work her magic, which she did. Not knowing anything about sewing, I was a bit nervous going into the first fitting, but I let her do her work and could not have been happier with the results! My guests were complimenting not only my dress, but how well it fit me. THANK YOU MAI!!!!! I'm not sure why those negative review girls had bad experiences because mine was phenomenal. I was the only client in the boutique during my appointment and the lady was SO helpful! I went around and chose like 10 dresses to try on, all of which were clearly marked with sizes and prices. She assisted me while I was putting them on, holding my arm so I wouldn't fall over and even helped shimmy a few of the tight ones over my hips. She was very friendly and out going but not at all pushy. The seamstress was also there and she was a super nice lady as well. After I chose a dress the lady popped out some champagne for my mom and me, it was delicious. The designer I chose, Modern Trousseau, includes my monogram and wedding date as a label on the inside of the gown and will send me a sketch of my dress as a momento, how cool right?! And it wasn't a one size fits all type deal where they order a size up and then it has it be altered like crazy. The lady at the store took a ton of measurements so the dress will come in almost perfect! Also, before we left she sent me home with like 5 of the latest bridal magazines, I thought that was nice. I'm really shocked at the previous comment because I cannot say enough good things about this bridal salon!! I was afraid to make an appointment because it seemed like a high end salon and I didn't have a high end budget, but decided that I should go to at least one high end salon and am so happy I did. From the moment I walked in, everyone in the shop was extremely welcoming. We had the whole shop to ourselves which was awesome. After picking out a few dresses of interest (all within my 2K budget) my bridal consultant Elizabeth (who was absolutely lovely) picked another out that she felt might be a good match. While I didn't end up choosing the dress she picked, it was her attention to detail and listening to what I wanted that really impressed me. I tried on 6 dresses in total, all gorgeous, and ended up buying the first dress- a Tara Keely stunner! Elizabeth has since moved and doesn't work there anymore but the owner Laura has been prompt and great at answering my emails and questions. I love hayden and Olivia! Yes the shop is smaller and yes maybe it's more expensive than davids bridal or other bridal "warehouses". But these dresses are special and beautiful. Each one is so unique and puts those ugly tacky warehouse dresses to shame. The style of dresses are incredible, the staff are amazing, and the shop is a breath of fresh calm air in an otherwise chaotic process. Whitney is the best consultant! She helped make our bride Stacy perfect and she laughed and celebrated with us like part of the family. I highly recommend hayden and Olivia!!! read more
