The first time I saw Dr. James it was very pleasant, he spoke very clearly about my situation and offered me the help I need including filling out all the paperwork in order for me to get my disability. When the time came for them to fill out the disability paperwork he got all upset saying that "You're Just like everyone else who comes here all the time asking me to fill out the paperwork " the he said " it takes lot of hours of my time to fill out the paperwork and I don't get paid for that". I was in shock and I said "Excuse me?" You offered to fill out the paperwork in case I need it. So I left and never went back. I just think that if he was having a bad day he didn't need to take it on me. This was very rude and unprofessional. I am sick in need of disability and I am not trying to lie he saw my X-rays and all my MRI's so he could at least have been more understanding and not talked with me like that because he lost one client and I won't recommend him to anyone anymore. read more

I am giving him 5 stars because during my initial consultation he diagnosed me with a condition and told me to go see my pcp right away. My pcp confirmed it and I am so happy I went to go see him. I don't know what would have happened if I went to a different chiropractor instead as my conditioned can get worse with manipulative therapy. I have been seeing Dr Hayes for 4 years now and I am glad I was referred to him. With my free X-ray that showed me where my issues were to the therapy I will always take before my adjustment to the physical therapy he provides for me to do at home. I won't go anywhere else. He truly cares about your wellbeing. His professional opinion about other things that can help you. Today was my second visit with Hayes Chiropractic, and my second trip to a chiropractor ever! I work long hours on hard concrete floors, as well as sitting at a computer charting for long periods of time, my back was killing me! I felt twinges of electricity when I moved and decided to try a chiropractor. I was recomended to hayes by a co worker. And I love it! The first thing I noticed, was that the place had an old fashioned charm, and the staff have that personal old fashioned feel that I haven't seen in a long time or anywhere else! The Staff at the desk are so kind and personable, they seem to love their jobs and the people they serve. They all have a smile on their face, the second you come in. I never dreamed that going to a chiropractor would become so detrimental to me! They took x Rays and started targeting the problem areas. The first visit was 2 days ago, and today was the second. I feel so much relief just after 2 visits! My shoulders and neck have more movement, I feel loose, and best of all less pain! I was recommended to go to Hayes to see Dr. Mattie when I was pregnant earlier this year to help out with my pain and she did amazing. Once my daughter was born we realized she had a condition called torticollis from the way she was positioned in my uterus and we were then again advised to go see a chiropractor to help. As soon as I heard that I knew I had to try Dr. Mattie again. She made me feel so much better about everything and spent time answering all my questions. She's so good with my daughter whose only 3 months and she's made a huge impact on her condition and is very knowledgeable about it which also makes me trust her so much. I was a patient of Dr James Hayes over the past 2 years and he helped me so much. I have spinal stenosis as well as having had 2 back surgeries and I could barely move or walk due to the pain I was having in my back and down the backs of my legs! He and Dr. Swanson both worked on me and with me and I am feeling better! It takes more than one visit I will just say that, so if you are looking for a magic act in a few visits, it won't happen! Originally I went to see James Hayes. The old man muttered a lot to himself and was fairly incomprehensible but he did promise to "fix me right up." However, the tables are uncomfortable (designed for male parts) and the stim machine doesn't have nearly the intensity I need. I have been seeing chiropractors for over 20 years (just moved to CA) and have never seen old equipment like that. After the rush job, I explained that the manual adjustments he had done were not adequate. I have a particularly bad back and he didn't want to take the time to finish the job. When I made the next appt. with him, it turned out I was to be treated by his wife, Mattie Hayes. When I asked her about seeing James, she said that he would not treat me because "I told him what to do." Um, I think I can feel my spine and certainly know it better than he does. She did an okay job, but when I requested her to traction my neck by pulling back on the skull, Mattie refused, telling me that "she was a trained professional and that this move is not appropriate treatment." Never mind that every other chiropractor has done it willingly. Upon my third visit she again refused this adjustment and critically attacked my weight issue, asking what I was doing to help them. I have problems with my knees, which limits my exercise, (plus some medications I take cause weight gain). But Mattie would hear none of that. She hiked up her skirt to show me her calf and how she recovered just fine from her surgery. I was chastised by a woman who barely knows me. Finally, I found their part-time chiropractor to be of some help. He tractioned my neck as requested, took as much time as needed for manipulation, but still wasn't able to get all the joints to move adequately. I began seeing him every 2 weeks, and the adjustments are okay, but not great. Overall, terrible experiences. Not worth the emotional distress. read more

LOVE this office!! Everyone is so nice and they truly care about their patients. They offer multiple ways to help with back troubles such as rolling beds and the little vibration wave things that go on your back (not sure what the correct name is) where they also place a hot towel over it! Horrible! Decided to come here to get adjusted for a pinched nerve that I started to feel after working out heavily. As soon as you walk in you can see it's very outdated , you will then notice while signing in that there is thousands of paper patient files lined up against the wall and stacked everywhere. After waiting for a few minutes in the waiting room they took me back to a room to take my blood pressure, do a grip test on my hands and ask a few questions. They then make you take X Rays of your back without asking your permission so they can make an extra $59 to expose you to unnecessary radiation . Then I was hooked to an electrical muscle stimulation machine for ten minutes in which it didn't help at all. Then I was put on an very old roller massage table that sounded like it wanted to break in pieces. After ten or fifteen minutes of rollers pounding and aggravating my nerve it was time for Dr Hayes to start the adjustment .He first rubbed some icy hot cream on my lower back and used a vibrating device shoving it into my nerve which made me jump because of the pain and said " made you tickle huh" I wanted to grab that device out of his hand and give him a "tickle". Then he had me cross over my leg and twist on both sides which cracked my upper back twice which I can do at home by just twisting . He then tried to adjust my hips by putting wedges under my hips and pushing straight down multiple times. I could have my daughter jump on my back which would be more effective than that hip adjustment. He then said "your a different man" I was thinking really that's it . Then he told me to come back so we can sit down and talk about the X rays and "we will go from there" I walked out of there feeling more pain than what I came in with from them aggravating it for an hour and a half. I'll give him credit for one thing about saying I'm a different man he was right, I have an extra limp to my step now. It was a mistake that won't happen again. If you want to come here for a muscle issue in your back maybe give it a shot but I would stay away! read more

They accept Stockton Unified Insurance. The office hours shown are incorrect. The only day the office is closed is Sunday, and they open at 8:00 on Saturday. I wish Yelp would make the correction. If I could I would give Hayes Chiropractic "10" stars. Been going to see Mr. James Hayes for over 15 years now. I am 70 soon to turn 71 & I have spinal stenosis along with some other problems. Mr Hayes has kept me moving without much pain or pain meds and I love to work in the yard which can be very painful at times. It's amazing how he can adjust me so I can function doing what I love the most. Sometimes I lax going in for an adjustment which is MY FAULT...LOL but after he is through I feel so much better. Matte Hayes is also unbelievable in adjusting the body. You can't lose by going to either Doctor. Just remember that Rome wasn't built in a day, so you have to keep going a few times to reap the benefits of their work to the fullest. Don't put it off any longer go see Dr. James Hayes or Dr. Matte Hayes asap if you have problems anywhere in your body. read more
