She has been going to Marie since high school (we are now 31) so I could trust her. Marie has yet to disappoint. I am someone with curly hair so I need to find a stylist that can handle curly hair and thankfully Marie has the same texture so knows just how to tame my mane. The prices are reasonable. The only downfall is that they only accept cash or checks. No credit cards are accepted. This is something I need to remind myself before each appointment. Thankfully there is an ATM in the convenience store in the same block. The parking is tight as this is located right on Mystic Ave, but thankfully I have always lucked out in one of the spots on the same block. But it is something to be cautious of when making an appointment.

We talked at length about all my different options for achieving the high-dimension, low-maintenance blonde I wanted... including balayage, foils, root tap/shadow/melt, money piece, etc. and finally settled on a plan that would match the ook I was going for without damaging my hair too much. Lauren was honest with me from the get-go about what she did and didn't feel comfortable doing in terms of maintaining the integrity of my hair (we skipped bleaching the ends for that reason), which I really appreciated. From the moment she started painting to the toner and blowout/styling, it was clear that she *really* cares about her work, as well as the client's satisfaction. And I truly don't think the tone of my blonde has ever looked better! Not to mention, Lauren's sweet, friendly, accommodating presence makes for a really pleasant experience all around. Especially if you're looking for a "lived in blonde" that grows out softly and beautifully, I highly recommend her! 10/10

Also, the towel they placed on the head rest was dirty and smelly. (I'm kicking myself for not saying anything) The sheets seemed a little sticky, that they hadn't changed them before I arrived. The massage therapist was wonderful and really had a nice manner and I liked my massage a lot! I did find it difficult when she followed me to the front desk, watched me pay and waited for her tip. I wouldn't go back, but it's not a terrible place.

The first place turned the bottom of my hair blonde when I asked for a light brown balayage and the color was really patchy. The second place I went to for a color correction gave me GRAY highlights when I asked them to make my hair blend better. Then by a recommendation I can here and got my color fixed by Brianna and my hair now looks fantastic!!! My hair is now beautify blended and a beautiful warm golden blonde shade that matches my darker skin tone great. If you are trying to go from dark to light, go to Brianna. She's very experienced and personable. I believe she said she has been working as a hair stylist since she was 18 or maybe it was younger than that. The point is that she knows what she is doing.
