Hello, my name is Stephanie! First I would like to point out that I'm not the type of person to write reviews, but I am writing this long review in hopes that no one will ever have to experience the horrible nightmare I went through with Dahab. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask. I am more than happy to answer any questions.
I went to Golden Beauty Salon on March 9th, in preparation for my wedding anniversary. Dahab Nazmy claimed she was able to change my dark brown hair to a blonde color. I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted, and made it clear that I wanted my hair to be blonde. When I asked her if it was possible to achieve that color, she said yes, and claimed that I would even be able to go two shades lighter than what the model had in the picture. She also said that she would only cut about 1/2 an inch to an inch off of my hair, adding some layers. In the initial consultation, I requested an Olaplex 3-Step Treatment to be put into my hair during the bleaching process to prevent any unnecessary damage. She recommended that she also use organic products to save the integrity of my hair which she mentioned would cost extra. I agreed and allowed her to do my hair service with those expectations in mind.
After coming home from the hair salon, I inspected my hair more closely and realized that my hair was orange, patchy, and did not look even remotely close to what the model had in the picture. She also cut off about 3-4 inches of my hair which had taken me a full 2 years to grow. I hated the results and was not happy.
I went back to the salon with my 6-month-old son, and told her I didn't like my hair. She said that she would fix my hair for free but I declined because I felt uncomfortable, fearing that she would cause more damage than what had already been done. She seemed angry that I wanted my money back and complained about the time she took working on my hair, stating that she cancelled on other clients to complete my hair service. I asked her for a refund and she refused, insisting that she fix it instead. After I expressed multiple times that I was not comfortable with that, she said she would only give me a 50% refund.
I expressed that 50% was unacceptable because I had just spent $266 on a service not done properly. Not only would I have to walk around with orange hair 2 days before my wedding anniversary, (which she knew was very important to me) but I would have to pay full price elsewhere to fix the problem she created! Correcting her mistake, would cost me a lot of time, money, and damage my hair even further. And yet, she continued to refuse. So, after arguing back and forth for about 15 minutes, I reluctantly agreed to 50% believing at that point, that "something was better than nothing."
When it came time to pay me, she procrastinated. She called her "supervisor" even though, minutes before, she had just told me that the salon was her business and she was managing it. Upon ending her conversation, she stated that her "supervisor" who had suddenly become her "lawyer", told her that she could not refund me in any amount. I was furious at this point and demanded she give me my refund. More than an hour had passed and she still refused. Dahab yelled at me and repeatedly questioned me asking, "Who sent you?! You are trying to get a free service from me! Who sent you?! I have cameras and I have you recorded!" This made me believe that the reason for her paranoia (and mention of a lawyer) is that she has done this to other clients.
After Dahab accused me, yelled at me, and disrespected me in front of my son, I broke down started crying. After seeing Dahab yell at me, my baby became distressed and started to cry. She had the nerve to question why I got the service done by her, and why I brought my son with me and didn't leave him with his father. I was so shaken up, that I explained, "All babies cry, and you as a mother, Dehab, should know that." Realizing that there was no reasoning with this woman, I decided that my only option was to leave. Soon after, I posted some pictures of my hair on Yelp. She accused me of posting fake pictures and then began to harass and threaten me through the phone and and in text messages demanding I take them down. To which, I have not replied. Due to my financial situation, I had to go out in public with orange hair for 2 weeks before I could fix it. This woman has caused me emotional distress and to fall into a depression.
So please, make sure you do your research when choosing a hairstylist (or for anyone you are going to pay good money to) and be cautious when choosing and get second opinions if you can. I hope this helps someone. read more
