The Probate took over 11 months! I was told that if uncontested it should not take longer than 6-7…read moremonths. The reason that this probate law office took so long is due to them 'forgetting' about it!!! My father passed away with a Will, and as the sole beneficiary I found I had to find a Probate attorney. I contacted Gresham Law, Patton Echols. Initially, his assistant, Kay setup my first appointment, confirmed. I arrived, and he didn't, until another attorney helped me, and we called him. He thought it was the next day?! He arrived an hour after appt time. Please note for future probate customers: - Keep him on task, he likes to converse at $250 hr (Kay's cost $125hr, but if she contacts Patton, then your question/work is transferred to his rate). There wasn't any overview of paperwork to see the outline of procedures at the first meeting. Kay sent later: very confusing with messy verbiage outline - Call often to check on process! If they say it will take 2 weeks, call them in 2 weeks! The office forgot about my probate several times, and literally for 3 months one time. . . It was not a good experience, as I was going through shock, grief and mourning. The good news is that it's finished!:)

They had decent jobs and could afford $150 decorative fingernails, but they refused to leave so we could sell the home for his care. They sucked him dry. We had to pay all living costs to maintain the home for them for 5 months until we went to court and forced them out. These low lives were given the right to live off of another human being who had considered them 'friends'. Now how stupid am I for not hanging up the phone and calling a different lawyer? OK so back to the property dispute, I told him the value was about 20,000 dollars, but I'm all distraught from everything that was going on, I was somehow EVEN DUMBER than he is, and let him convince me to sue her for only 10,000 because, I'll quote him: "you get your money quick, if we do it for more than 10k we dont get to include attorney fees, so we'll ask her to include attorney fees, and then you can write me a good review." then as embarrassing as it is for me to admit, I didnt do the math, and realize that if we sued for the 20,000, and I ended up paying him 5000, I'D STILL BE AHEAD WITH 15,000 INSTEAD THE 10,000 THAT HE CONVINCED ME TO GO WITH. meanwhile THIS WHOLE TIME HE'S DRAINING MY RETAINER so he ends up keeping the whole 5000 that i gave him, I ended up taking my ex to small claims and got the full 10,000 WITHOUT HARRIS, WHICH HE SHOULD HAVE ADVISED THAT I DO IN THE VERY BEGINNING, IF HE WAS GOING TO DO WHATS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF HIS CLIENT, but instead he was STEALING from his client FOR THE BENEFIT OF HIS FIRM, putting HIMSELF ahead of his client. DONT MAKE FUN OF HOW STUPID I AM AND HOW I BROUGHT THIS ON TO MYSELF, if youre going to hire him, because then that makes YOU EVEN DUMBER than me.
