Get out and VOTE! I'm not sure why so few people vote, but I always want my voice to be heard. Although I usually do early voting, sometimes I forget and I am voting at the last minute. That was the case last Tuesday. While watching the news, I realized that I had forgotten to vote. Hopped in the car with my favorite plus one at 6:36 PM. The polls close at 7 PM. HCC West Campus is so close and so easy to access. Plenty of parking. Signs and volunteers directing you to where the polls are set up on the campus. Only 8 people in line ahead of me. Saw so many of my neighbors. They had forgotten, but wanted to have their vote count, too. In the election last Tuesday, 1.9 million Texans voted. Sounds like a lot. It broke a record, but it was just 10% of the 18.7 million registered voters that live in the great state of Texas. For the next election, I know where I will vote. HCC West Loop Campus. read more

This place has gotten progressively worse the longer I've been coming here. Academic Advising can't find transcripts I submitted two years ago, Admissions can't produce a transcript without redirecting you to a self-service computer, and the general staff just completely ignores you instead of helping you. I've been going back and forth on this campus for the past hour just trying to get a couple of simple things done and yet I can't. Even worse, despite the fact that my transcript was now found, I was told that I'd need to wait an additional 6-8 weeks for the credit to be applied in their system. They keep claiming "first come first serve" but they refuse to respect or acknowledge the people and documents actually entered first if they make a mistake in their system. read more

Craaaaaaayyyyyyzzzzeeee. People people everywhere. Ample parking but it can lead to a long walk during peak hours. Cops and emergency vehicles are in great number during peak hours. Seating on every floor. Computers in the library and a lab upstairs (C227) for use of things like Visual Studio for programming. Bookstore is nice with clothes, food, snacks. Overpriced, but that is expected. The line went fast. Classrooms are nice/large and facilities are new/well kept. Overall pretty impressed, but the vibe is still a bit chaotic during wkdays. read more

I called and they didn't answer so I called back and the lady who answered didn't even wait until i was finished talking before transferring me and then whoever she transferred me to didn't answer then hung up the call. And when I was going there, they didn't tell me about the PELL grant and how I can get a check with money to help pay for anything I need. They are so unprofessional. read more

I had registered for Nutrition and Diet Therapy, , Professor Aujkie what a name for this one, Anyway I paid to take this course that is in class, textbook that comes with access code. Now you would think that this so call access code that come with the textbook would work, but for the three last summative quizes that I could save and go on to the next This stupid Canvas and Launch Pad only grade one question out of ten, not to mention I had talk to the professor, and the IT of Launch Pad I'm So discussed of trifle HCC, their Poor excuse s of IAM so sorry your not sorry Your just plain trifling lairs So call dumbing down staff that I have decided to go with a college that not only knows what they are doing but can be held accountable for actions and that stands by a website that should work. When i called to ask about housing the lady on the phone had a nasty ass attitude and redirected me to a completely different college while trying to as a question, it seems this isn't the first time this has happened to people, she should really be talked to about her snarky behavior. read more

Horrible service. I sat for 40 minutes while I watched EVERY PERSON that signed in AFTER me be called back to be helped. After I had enough, I spoke to a lady at the desk and she informed me "they don't see my name" even though it had been displayed on the screen for 40 minutes. I even had a conversation with a lady waiting thinking I was "waiting for someone else". She had me sign in again to still not be helped for another 30 minutes. Keep in mind after the second login, there was NO ONE waiting to be called and I had to approach the desk again. If you have to handle any services (financial aid, advising, accounts, etc.) please go to another campus. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I'm so disappointed I don't even want to go to school here, but unfortunately it's my only option. It really is scary that we live in a world where getting college credits is so hard. First: I transferred in district and presented both forms of ID in June, so I'd be ready for fall semester. They're STILL trying to get me to pay out of district... It's August. Second: they have had my OFFICIAL transcripts for a year. I went to meet with a counselor, and she (very calmly) told me they hadn't reviewed my transcripts, which they received July 2014. It's August 2015 as I write this. Third: the counsellors. Unbelievable. I was the first one in the queue TWICE, sat down, and was told to call a number and given a basic "run down" of what I needed. I protested every time, begging them to PLEASE give me more of an answer on what I need from them to achieve my goals. Both individuals were unwilling to put in the extra effort to help me. It was heartbreaking. If I could do it all over again, I'd do Lone Star. But this campus is close to my house, and offers the classes I need, on the days and hours I need it, since I work full time m-f. Do yourself a favor and sign up for an online university where some difficulty should be expected, rather than this local "community oriented" college. read more

Today was outstanding service from a lady in billing department. I didn't get her name but she went above and beyond to assist me and resolved my issues without a big run around. It was NOT the young girl who sits at register window who is always eager to send you off to other people to help you and won't ever smile (maybe she is new). It's my least favorite campus by far. It has very confusing layout and no windows in classrooms. The coffee shop is hideous- very small, food is gone by 1pm and coffee is not fresh. The location of this campus is not convenient and if you don't drive don't take classes there! Traffic next to the place is horrible. There is always parking spots because of the new parking garage they have build. I took classes there last semester and that was my last time I took classes there. read more

I've been here purely as an event space. It seems like this campus allows itself to be rented out for different things throughout the year. It's a great space since there is so much parking. I have attended the Haute Wheels Food Truck Festival here. The space is perfect since not only can they block off the parking lot for the vendors there is still plenty of parking along the streets for the visitors. It's also a very nice campus for attending classes. read more

It's a great place to get your study on!! I went to check out the library and was amazed that every computer had Adobe flash player and photoshop!! The library is so big that you will not bother the next person studying inside!! The parking lot is huge that they even build a garage for more students and guests to check out the place. They also have one of the biggest bookstores inside. read more

My church (Fountain of Praise) had a Women's Metamorphosis event here and it was great. The building is well taken care of and the staff was attentive to all of the volunteers and guest. read more

Hcc is full of rude employees. Only go there because of mr.garcia *my advisor* one of the best advisor I could have. Mr.Garcia cares for the students. Everyone else is so rude. Never attending to that school. Try lone star or a different location. read more

I really like this campus, it's very nice and the library is the perfect place to study. So sad that they do not have a learning lab here!!!

This campus is much better compared to some campuses. There are some that are newer which of course will be nicer. So far I only have one class there but I do like this math teacher compared to the one on Cash rd or stafford campus. I love the fact that you can study anywhere on campus. It's very spacious. Parking is convenient which is in front of the campus. Counseling, financial aid and student services are hidden on the left side. I didn't expect how big that room is when you walk in. It seems kinda out of place lol. I recommend this campus. read more

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. This campus is unprofessional. Some of the staff are extremely rude and don't let you talk at all, they even "hush" you. Furthermore, they just assume things and go on from there. First and last time that I go to this campus. Would not recommend at all. The other HCC campus are better than this one, go there instead. Not enjoying my experience here so far. School hasn't even started yet, and I am doubting this campus. I am a transferring student, and I do not feel welcomed. The wait is too long, and when you finally do talk to someone you feel rushed. They have very nonchalant attitudes, and they don't give you all of the information you need. They only give you the basics. The only welcoming people are the ladies at the information (front) desk. read more

I had a terrible experience also but mine experience was at the one at I-10 and Beltway 8. I tried to talk to a couselor but I guess he didn't want any new students. If you must go to this location, this guy looked like Morgan Freeman, so avoid him at all costs. It was a total waste of my time. I hope not all the HCC locations are like this. If I can rate as negative, I will pick. Please do not go to this admission office. I submitted a over courseload approval form last week in order to take more classes this summer. I met a very stubborn staff. I showed her the student id card but she refused to take it. It's because the card was expired. But the student # is active on the system. OK. I gave her my driver license. After that, she kept on asking whether I wanted to update the address. Yes. I moved recently out from my mom house as I got my part time job. OK. Fine. I thought it did not hurt and then let her do it. WTF!!! I discovered my tuition changed to out of district. I have to pay double because of address change. This staff has strong accent and I needed to guess what she was saying most of the time. I dun know why HCC can put her in front of the admit office to serve the student.
