If I could pick "no stars" I would! I was looking for a new stylist in Erie. I found Headcases and called for an appointment, I was surprised by the $25.00 deposit but thought since it goes towards my service it would be okay. I arrived to my appt Saturday at 9:30am, and was told Becky didn't come in and "we don't know where she is"? I was told everyone else is booked and I could wait 45 minutes she might be able to fit me in. I had to request my deposit back and was offered a $15.00 coupon for my next visit! I used yelp to request an appointment and was able to get in very quickly. I arrived and was offered a drink while I waited. I had the pleasure of having Adria as my stylist. I took in a few pictures of a style and color I liked. She used her expertise to help me decide on a color and cut that was similar to the look I wanted, but would suite my hair(course, thick and wavy). I am very happy with my cut and color. Adria also advised me on products that would help me achieve the best results for my hair. She is very experienced and knowledgeable about course, thick and wavy(curly) hair. I will surely be back. I had scheduled an appointment with Emilie to go platinum blonde. I was in the chair for maybe 4 hours to get this done, which I understand it takes a while. But after she washed the bleach out of my hair and toned it with purple shampoo, it turned my hair purple. I remember her coworker walking by saying she put a lot on. But she assured me that it would wash out with my next wash. Surely, it did not. After my first wash, my hair was still silver and purple, my roots were orange (which they were before a wash too), and the back of my hair was yellow. I am NEVER one to complain and i understand people make mistakes. But I called back to help get it fixed on a Friday and did not hear back till the next Wednesday. By that time, I got it fixed elsewhere because I'm a college student with 2 jobs, so I didn't want to show up with 3 different colors in my hair. Luckily, another salon fixed it which took an additional 3 hours. When headcases called me back, I just told them the situation, I never yelled or got upset. I frankly just said what happened and what I did about it. She was so incredibly rude and told me "Well when I saw it, it didn't look orange." and I said I have a picture and it is orange. She continued to have an attitude and said Well what else do you need, and I asked if there was anything they could do to repay me for the almost $300 hair malfunction and she said, "nope we guarantee our work" and said have a nice day and hung up. I was so appalled with the level of unprofessionalism. Like I said, I never usually get upset easily because people make mistakes, but as a college student, losing $300 to a bad hair mistake and then to be treated like that was truly unacceptable. Updated review. It has been four months since my appointment at Headcases. Over time, the color has faded and after using purple conditioner and clarifying shampoo over 4 months, my hair has lightened significantly. While I certainly did not appreciate being talked to like an amateur do-it-yourself problem client, I recognize that stylist Emily is talented, compassionate, and ultimately did her best to help me achieve my long term goals of getting back to blonde (even though I had put a bad color in my hair making it difficult). The color has transitioned so nicely and blended with my natural blonde hair that I have started letting it grow out. It's healthier than ever and with each wash it is getting closer to where I want it. read more

Sarah was friendly and did a great job of cutting my hair. She listened to what I wanted, offered advice without being pushy, and addressed all my areas of concern. For example, I have numerous ear cartilage piercings on one side that make cutting hair near my ears tricky, and she was very attentive and took great care to avoid hurting me. Also the waiting area has complimentary tea and starburst candies which is always a plus. read more

This was awful. They messed up my hair , not at all what I asked for. Hair is damaged and looks like a 5 year old did it , I could have done it better with 5 dollar hair dye from Walmart . Don't ever go here , if you're New around town this is not the place to go. You can spend your money way better somewhere else. Clearly they don't know how to dye hair and they make you look fake as hell. Absolutely do not recommend this place , because if you go here , you will come out looking like crap and wasting your money. read more

I found this place on yelp and the reviews were all positive so I felt trusting that my experience would be good. My appt was At 11:30am and I did not leave until nearly 4pm. No one has time to waste and especially on a Saturday. Why did it take so long? I went in with a picture specific to what I wanted. I had blonde highlights already so I felt like it was an easy slate to work with. When she was finished drying my hair I was sick to my stomach. My entire head was blonde with my roots an awful orange/yellow tone. They offered to fix it and I didn't want to wait any longer as it was already 3 hours by this time but I let them talk me into it because I was on the verge of tears. They put more blonde foils in and tried to dye my roots close to my natural color. My hair still doesn't look 100% but it was a lot better then earlier. They didn't even offer a discount on the cost, given I wasted my entire day sitting in a salon only to come out with something I'm not happy about. Now I will have to wait for my hair to grow out before I can get it done again. I will never go somewhere that I was not referred to. I thought the other positive reviews on here were a good sign but I am honestly still so upset about my entire experience. A waste of $100. read more

I scheduled an appointment with someone who's an "expert" in color. The color was supposed to be grey ombre, but it turned out brown and yellow straw! $50 deposit and another $100 for them to RUIN my hair?!?! I had to cut 6" of hair off! I will tell everyone I know to steer clear of this salon! I'm a single mom. I never get to do extra things for myself. This was supposed to be an I'm 40 and beautiful statement.
