As you can read in other reviews, the customer service in this spa, and particularly by the owner, is absolutely atrocious. From last-minute cancelations, not willing to work with schedules, unannounced week-long closings, and a total lack of promised communication you will be sorry if you spend your money here. We were visiting the Erie area for two weeks so I purchased my wife a $75.00 gift card for this spa to go and relax during our trip. Little did I know that they would cause far more stress than the were worth. Booking an appointment the first week was literally impossible, and the second week we were there they were closed the entire week. This closure was not told to me at the time of purchase, nor was advertised on their website. When I asked for a refund since they were unable to book us, I was sternly told they weren't going to refund it since I purchased the gift certificate. I offered to forfeit the certificate to them but still no. I asked to speak with their manager and was told the Owner would call me the next day. Next day comes, of course I get no call from the Owner. Eventually, I get a call from the same person stating that the owner told them to tell me to sell the gift certificate to a friend or family member. I told them that was an unacceptable solution and would still like to speak with the Owner...That was years ago at this point and I wanted to update the review to confirm it was never resolved. Infact, she filed a complaint with the police department that my poor reviews were harassment. The owner obviously doesn't care about her clients. read more

Very nice spa and good massage. Went to get massages with my mom. Only negative is they offer a $15 off first massage deal (nice deal!) but you need to know about it when you're booking your appointment and I had no idea until we got there and there were signs for it at the shop. This is a small little spa on top of a jewelry store next to a salon. I would not say the atmosphere is serene which is what I look for when I want to indulge at a spa but it seemed fun and I might come back for a manicure or pedicure. I had my brows waxed here and it was fine. It wasn't the best brow job I had ever had nor was it the worst. I have pretty nice full natural brows and she went a bit thin and uneven. I'm totally infuriated by my treatment from Sandcille. I booked a wax a month in advance for a beach vacation. Sandcille called at 8pm the night before my appointment to cancel on me. The tech had an emergency (which I totally understand). What I don't appreciate is how the scheduler (owner?) refused to work with me to get another appointment before I left for my vacation. I offered to come in early, come in late whatever. Nope. She showed absolutely no interest in helping me get it done before I left for vacation. She just kept saying "Sorry, we are booked". I protested, pointing out that THEY were the ones who cancelled on my so they should try to work with me to get me in. Still no sympathy. Eventually, she basically just hung up on me. What infuriates me is the unequal treatment when you need to cancel. If a customer needs to cancel 24 hours before an appointment, what happens? You get the full charge. If the spa needs to cancel 24 hours before, what happens? Sorry, we can't help you. You are screwed. Please read the other review about how mean they are. They have no interest in making right what they did wrong. There are other places in Erie to take your business who will treat you better. read more

Got last minute appointments for my wife and myself for spa pedicures on a recent Saturday. The staff was very welcoming and professional. Well I wanted to like this place - sure is pretty and clean - came here on my birthday after a really bad experience at another spa in ERie and my mani/pedi were cancelled 24 hours before my appointment. anyhow thought it was divine intervention to find this place - got a pedicure no time for a manicure that day. Had the vinyl (better than gel I was told) and it lasted maybe 2 weeks at best. I didn't call to talk to anyone yet actually went back for a manicure. I know - I am a glutton for punishment I guess and I tipped 20% on top of it. Manicure also vinyl or whatever they call it - didn't last more than I couple days and looked bad the next day. Bad filing, cuticles and polish - liked the woman who did it -very sweet but I need someone who is good too. Anyhow finally called in to talk to someone - about manicure only cause I am still hopeful and dumb I guess - they said to come in and they would redo mani - had something happen on the way there and had no cell phone and living out of a hotel so stopped at a drug store to call - after much ado got the number and called and they said ok and I asked fastest way to get there. Drove very fast and was about 15 minutes late. The owner was waiting and basically made me know that it wasn't ok. Then grilled me on what color the vinyl was etc. basically making it clear that I was the bad client and it ended with her calling me a liar and saying she would do nothing to fix it. Also was told that my pedicure was old and she would do nothing to fix that either. OK - 65 dollars down the tube and 20% on top. Live and learn. I went elsewhere in the plaza where this place is and heard some negative things about this woman and this place. Where were you all before I went in? oh well - upside is I met a really wonderful woman who owns another salon and invited me to come in and see one of her stylists. There is a god. Mean girls suck especially when they own salons. Maybe the owner should rethink her profession. Proceed with caution at this place. Note to self - I do teach communication and this is one for the textbooks and what not to do if you are in a customer service industry which I have been in for 20 years plus. I would have been fired from any one of my jobs had I acted like this lady. Cruella DeVille comes to mind. Yikes! PS. she told me she is friends with my brother... This little spa for Erie I thought was quite impressive. I was in town for a wedding and needed my nails done. My shellac manicure is perfect. I left very very pleased. I told all my friends to go if they were looking for a new place. My nails are really sensitive so manicures aren't always the most enjoyable experience for me but this one was. The decor is gorgeous they really did a great job inside. I will say it's a bit pricy for Erie but then again your getting a very clean environment and a well trained nail tech. I would highly recommend! When I'm home again I will be visiting for sure. read more

As an out-of-town client I didn't expect to be treated like a frequent flyer, but the staff at SandCille Spa made me feel like I had been coming there for years. While visiting family over the holidays, I decided I was in need of a Spa Day. (You all know what I mean) I had hoped to book my appointments that day, but was unable to do all the treatments in the same day. (It's not a bad sign when a Salon is busy) Elena was so accommodating and we were set up a few services over a couple of days. I was very impressed with the treatments I have had at SandCille Spa! I had my first facial ever (Euro Facial?) which the owner recommended and it made my skin feel and look amazing. I really appreciate how I was recommended the proper products for my skin type, but they were never pushy about me buying anything that day. They even gave me a couple of samples to try out, which was really nice because I love complimentary, travel size stuff! Also, I had the best mani/pedi experience I have ever had. I use to bring all my own files and pumice stones to the places I use to go to when I noticed how the were using the same tools between clients. (Sooo Gross) I told the girl who was doing my nails that I had my own tools and she informed me, the buffers and files at SandCille are not shared between clients. I got to keep the ones she used on my which was great because as I previously mentioned, I love free stuff! I can't wait to make another appointment(s) the next time I am in town. The thing I love most about SandCille, besides the friendliness of the staff, is the level of cleanliness. I never have to worry about how well the pedicure tubs are cleaned or if the staff is using proper sanitation procedures with their tools. The pipe-free tubs and autoclave procedures ensure the highest degree of sterilization- think hospital operating room clean! The new facility in the Colony Plaza is gorgeous. The design is a bit more modern and the overall environment is serene and relaxing. I always request Kelly for my pedicures, she does a fabulous job and is such a sweetheart! read more

While not as tranquil as all spas, the kindness and expertise of the Sandcille Spa staff makes it the best spa experience in town. They have a range of services and offer two of my favorite, must-have beauty products: Clarasonic and Bare Escentuals. I've been a customer for over 6 years now and have never had a bad experience. Came to sandcille for the first time last week to get eyelash extensions and I was more than happy with the results. The girl who did my eyelashes was so nice and did a fantastic job. I have never gotten eyelash extensions before and Sandcille exceeded my expectations. I also felt like mine looked better than friends I know who have gotten them from other salons. I thought for the time the girl spend on me the price was more than fair, it seemed like a very tedious job. Not only was the staff super kind but the salon was beautiful! I was very impressed by the new place and the friendly staff upon arriving. The lady that did my service was fantastic and if I was rating strictly on her it would have been a 5 star recommendation. The part I was not happy with was when I went to pay. I had been online to the website www.sandcille.com and it stated the pricing for an introductory eyelash extension was $70 so that is what I was anticipating to pay. (I had previously gone to another place for eyelash extensions and decided to try another place). The lady behind the counter stated it was $90 and I told her about the introductory pricing online she said "oh that was old and it is not that price anymore". I paid the $90 plus gave a 20% tip but feel that if you have a website with posted pricing you should stand behind that or remove the website. I guess I was just disappointed in how she dismissed my comment like I was dumb for asking. It was my first time there and I did not know what to expect at all. I have mixed emotions now about this place. I would probably still recommend this place to someone and will plan to return I guess I would just caution people to find out the correct pricing before you get the service. I want to give you an update: the owner of the establishment called me personally to extend her apologies and offered me a gift card for the difference in pricing of what I had expected to pay and what was paid. I was very impressed with the way this was handled and feel that it speaks volumes for how dedicated they are to their clients and the overall satisfaction of their clients.
