Upon booking my haircut appointment (his services are by appointment only and they fill up pretty quickly), I received a confirmation with detailed instructions on where to park and how to find his studio. The message was personable and the information proved helpful upon my arrival (where to park and how to navigate the building). The studio itself was impressive. It has a clean, sleek, and modern aesthetic to it. On the wall, I immediately spotted a picture of Daniel Gafford's haircut done by Josh himself. After talking to Josh, I found out that he does haircuts for other professional athletes as well. Since the studio accommodates only one client at a time, I certainly felt like an important client myself. My appointment started off with a detailed consultation. And once Josh knew exactly what I wanted in a haircut, he went straight to work. He was meticulous and never rushed. And at the end of the cut, I was impressed at the quality of the cut. I was driving home from work 2 days ago and decided I wanted to cut all my hair off. I was passing…read morethis barbershop so I went in. There were 2 barbers there. 1 had a client and the other was sitting there. She asked what I wanted and I said to cut all my hair off low with no shape up. She looked shocked and said she's never had a woman come in and say that. I should've walked out at that point since plenty of women do "the big chop". She went and talked to someone then said I could get in her chair. She started by cutting my hair with scissors saying that it was so thick she needed to cut it down first. This was not my first time cutting my hair all off so this was red flag number 2. I asked how long she had been cutting hair and she didn't really answer. She said it was a teaching shop and that she used to be a cop. She retired and now she was starting a new career Long story short, it took her an hour and a half to cut my hair which is ridiculous. I was tired after a 12 hour shift and there's no reason what I asked for should've taken that long. She cut a little bit at a time alternatingbetweenscissors and the clippers. She used huge scissors by my ears and it was terrifying. She cut my hair uneven and on one side she left my sideburn and straight cut it on the other side. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the cut was only $20 and the barber was very nice.
