You can always find something great here for your Tampa and collegiate sports fans. I needed a few FSU related items to round out a college table for my daughter's hs graduation party and was able to find exactly what I needed. I have also found some great gifts for a lightning fan and a bucs fan in the past. Selection is always changing depending on the season. Staff is super friendly and always willing to help with any question you may have. Love this little south Tampa shop!! read more

We were referred by friends to check this place out for Tampa Bay Buccaneers gear and merchandise. We were the only ones in the store on a Monday morning. The owner was very welcoming and we loved that he took the time to talk to us. He was very friendly and gave us a lot of information about merchandise and also stated that they have items on their website and can also ship to Hawaii. They have merchandise for all Tampa Bay sports. We came in specifically for Buccaneers gear but since we came in at the end of the season, items were a bit limited. We were able to find a few items to purchase and was happy about it. The prices were reasonable as well. I would love to see what they have in stock when the Bucs are in season. Came in for a new Bucs shirt prior to game day. Found one I liked. Staff was nice and they do have 1 fitting room in the back corner. Pricing is in line with your typical sports attire pricing. Parking in front and on side. It is a tight area fyi. read more

This is a sports apparel shop catering to UF, FSU, USF as well as Bucs and Rays fans. They have a decent selection for a smaller size shop and I have seen some cute items here that I haven't seen at other places in Tampa. I do think they try to pack too much merchandise in though so it's a bit of a maze navigating through the store. I would say their prices are average to high average. The staff is friendly although there was only one person working when I was there so not a lot of extra help if they have multiple customers The biggest negative for me is the musty smell when you walk in. It hits you in the face as the door swings open. Maybe they need to change the carpet out. Whatever the cause of the issue, it creates a poor shopping experience. I would return here if I was having trouble finding apparel at another store but it would not be my first choice. read more

I have been a long time supporter of this business, buying from them even when items online from Gatorshop were less expensive. Last week I called and asked them to hold the item, even offering to pay for it over the phone but was told they' were too busy to do that but would set it aside. I was unable to get in as originally planned so I called back and asked them them to hold and I would in Tuesday. They replied they'd set it aside. I show up at. On Tuesday and am told they sold the item and had no more in stock. I'm done with them, guess loyalty is a one way street, wish I had ordered online now since unable to get by Christmas. I'll find myself at Heads & Tails once or twice a year to pick up some gifts for friends and family members. Heads & Tails is a smaller merchandise store that stocks UF, FSU, USF, Rays, Bucs and Lightning merchandise. It's a good place to find shirts, polo's, car accessories, hats, tailgating items, etc. The prices are nothing special and they have a few clothing racks that are on sale occasionally. If there are 10 or more people in the store it can get really congested inside as the store is on the smaller side. The staff is kind of hit or miss. I've had good experiences and I've had times where I've gone in there and no one will even look at me and ask me if I need anything. Head's & Tails is a convenient sports store with a nice selection of product, average service and average pricing. read more

Only giving this place 2 stars because they have a wide variety of items. The man behind the counter is extremely rude to customers. My family and I were in Tampa for the Raiders vs Bucs game and wanted to find a place that had a lot of Bucs merchandise because my son is a die hard Bucs fan. We found this place and it was like we struck gold!! They had all Bucs merchandise as well as other Florida teams. Great selection and customer service!! Definitely will be back!! read more

My husband and daughter were just in the store where the man behind the counter was so incredibly rude to them I still cannot believe it. When my husband asked who the manager was he replied that he was the manager. Whoever you have working in the store today has absolutely horrific customer service skills. And what's even worse is we still bought our two kids 2 Bucs jerseys, 2 Seminole shirts, 1 women's shirt and 1 mans shirt. Last time this place will EVER get our business and we will be telling everyone not to go here. Lived in Tampa for over 20 years. Never again will I go back. read more

Tis the season... NOT HERE! The woman working was rude and not helpful at all. They had sidewalk sale signs out and when i inquired about it she said "NO.. that was last weekend". so i asked if there was any sale merchandise left over. NO! She said. then a few min later she said there mat be some items over there on that sale rack. (as she pointed across the store). Honestly the worst customer service at a retail establishment i have ever experienced. This is a happy time of the year! Christmas...acceptances into colleges.... and her opportunity to gain customers while their kids are at FSU OR Florida for the next 4 years! Not me!!! read more

I love this place! Yes it's small and stuffed with merchandise, but you can't find any FSU stuff anywhere else in town and Tallahassee is a little bit of a hike. They have a great selection and have always been super nice every time I walk in. It's a must go for every football season. And yes gator fans they have stuff for you too. They also have some Bucs, USF and Bucs merch. It's also very easy to get to since its not in a mall which is great. I highly recommend!! Go Noles! read more

My family and I were driving all the way from Orlando down here to try and buy a specific item, we saw the store closed at 6:00 and had planned it all out into our day. We get down here with 10 minutes to spare and pull in to only see that the store was completely closed and shut down. A day wasted for all of us and very disappointing knowing how great the stock is in the store and how much we had looked forward to it all day. read more

The best place to go to find "your FSU,UF,USF,RAYS, BUCS AND LIGHTNING MERCHANDISE; for sportswear; everything from keychains and liscense plate frams to fine shirts, sweetshirts, caps etc ..... and you name it, Heads and Tails has it....HEADS AND TAILS definitely handels premier merchandise, that many other stores just dont offer. I have visited this store several times. The store was so-so at best. The store is a little small but the selection is pretty decent. The staff was not helpful or overly friendly. On 3 occasions they wrote down my name and email address to let me know when a new shipment of merchandise arrived. I never once received an email. I'm not sure what they do with the email address. I have gone in to check on the items and found they either had arrived or never arrived. When I asked about the merchandise, the staff barely glanced at me. I have not returned since. read more

History

Established in 1992.

Nearly 30 years ago, Head and Tails was founded out of the love of Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles. To this day, our store continues to carry merchandise for these iconic schools while also adding the University of South Florida and our local professional teams, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning and the Tampa Bay Rays! Since 1992, Heads and Tails has been South Tampa's go to shop for all things sports. We strive to carry a wide variety of high-quality sports merchandise, apparel and gifts. By hand selecting the best styles and brands on the market, our goal is to help you Champion Your Team! In July 2020, three families came together to keep the legacy of Heads and Tails alive after it was put up for sale at the start of the year. We are grateful for all of the support from our local community and out of state visitors, and we are proud to have the opportunity to take Heads and Tails to the next level in the years to come.

However, for the second item, it was my first time wearing it (pink leggings), and the logo already completely fell off and previously lulu's leggings used to do a great job with concealing any pockets but you could clearly see the pocket outline. After going through the process, I needed to go to USPS, any UPS store could not work, and initiated the return. One week after that, I discovered another item (one of my sports bras) also had a defect. I'm disappointed with the quality, as I've had a pair from many years ago that continue to excel, but the new lulu material simply is not the same.

They have other clothes that you can browse (for purchase) besides the clothes in the bins to fill your bag. If you are looking for cheaper thrift prices, this is not the store to do that. Luckily, I found a shirt that I liked for less than $10. My cousin was able to find a few things she liked that fit in her bag. We checked out and went and sat in the car for a bit before parting ways with our friend. While sitting I looked at my cousins receipt and I had question about something on the receipt. I went back inside and asked the employees about it. Some were very nice and some were okay. They discovered that she was rung up wrong and refunded us the money she was overcharged. Which was nice! I didn't go in there asking for or expecting any refund, I was just curious. Overall, I don't know if I'd go back there. I think the fill a bag idea is great and would absolutely be worth it if there were items worth putting in the bag. Besides the fill a bag event, I don't know if I would pay the prices for clothes you can definitely find for cheaper at other thrift stores.
