I'm a plus size newbie skier from out of town. I wanted to get a snow outfit for my trip without buying an entirely expensive new fit. PLUS I found it nearly impossible to find plus sized clothes anywhere. I'm SOOOO excited I stumbled upon this spot. They have a wide range of items from snow shoes to skis to kid's gear. It's small but mighty. & Omg their plus size options had me in tears because I had multiple options to choose from. I'm not sure if everything is pre-owned because some items still had its original tag on it. I found snow pants from $70-300, so you can find something in your price range. I was looking for a basic spinner reel and rod just to be able to fish on a vacation. The guy sold us one for $50 saying it was ready to go and that all we needed was a hook and some lure. I lost a $20 lure, because the so called line was actually twine. I tried to return it later that day and they would not let me and told me to go buy line after he had told us it was ready to go. I bought a license and everything only to find out we were scammed. One of the worst shopping experiences I have ever experienced please be ready to be scammed before shopping here. read more

Good spot to find gear that locals are upgrading. When I get new gear & I gave stuff I don't use anymore I consign it here. In a mountain town like Jackson gear gets upgraded constantly, chances are you find gear in pretty good condition. Employees are knowledgeable, you just can't come in blind to the purchase. Overall I have been happy here finding secondhand products. This summer, the shop now has a bike repair shop with excellent bike technicians, fast turnaround & at a fair price. I have been very happy with the gear I have picked up & work done on my mountain bikes. This is a consignment shop, all sales are final. You have to at least have a little knowledge on products you are looking for. If you get ski boots for example, you need to know what works for yourself before making the final purchase. read more

Good finds when I needed it. Came to Jackson for a week of skiing but inadvertently left my ski coat at philly airport decent selection. Store was a bit hard to find. Found a Backcountry puffer and Patagonia ski coat on a Sunday. Totally saved the day! read more

Very well organized, with a reasonably good choice of gear, but consignments must fit their model of what is in season. If you bring a pack in to be consigned in November, it can't be just any pack, it has to be a winter pack. And no more tiered pricing for anything that hasn't sold in months. The best year-round storefront option in Jackson for used gear. Recent renovation makes the store very neat and organized. Stuff inside is always seasonally appropriate. Staff is really nice. Beware that, because it's consignment, everything -- even new in the box stuff - is final sale. (Headwall please correct me if I'm wrong!) They do get a lot of brand new merchandise from other regional stores that are closing or whatever. Those prices are still pretty high. Sometimes you can find exactly what you want at a great deal. Had an experience with the owner, Sean, that was one of the worst I've ever had with any establishment. While trying to negotiate with him about an item in his store, he blew his top, cutting me off in mid sentence and just laying into me, even mocking/insulting me like a teenager would. The whole while I was completely non-argumentative and pretty much just watching his display, shocked at how I was being treated. It would be crazy to be verbally assaulted by someone on the street like this, but I was trying to actually buy something from this guy, which made it pretty mind blowing. I'm not sure how long he has been in business, but I'm guessing it won't be a long run for him unless he takes anger management classes or somehow changes his attitude. The staff was great. He could take customer service lessons from the people who work for him. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. I read another review here that seems like he has a pattern of extreme insulting behavior with customers, which fit with my experience. I hope he figures out his demons, but he'll have to pay for therapy with someone else's money. read more

What a fantastic place to buy and sell. I have been coming here for a few years and the transformation that has taken place in the last 18 months is amazing. Ownership and staff are top notch especially for a service industry town. There is nothing better than dropping off unwanted gear and then coming back and having credit to buy wanted gear. WARNING: Nightmare business owner. I was in the market for a new pair of boots. I was measured properly and an employee picked the pair I bought off the shelf. They were slightly uncomfortable (like all boots) but the in house boot fitter assured me that it was easily fixed with footbeds. I decided to hold off for a few days to ski in them and see how they felt. So I took them for a run and after about 30 minutes I could tell something was wrong. After an hour the pain was unmanageable. The boots gave me a black toenail, which happens, so I was considering getting a boot fit done. I went to another boot fitter at Pepi's sports named Ben who was extremely helpful. It turned out they sold me a boot that had a mismatched liner as well as 1.5 sizes too big. I went back to headwall to ask for a refund since they had fitted me to the boots. The employees were understanding and kind about it. Ultimately they helped us out and got a refund issued after a few visits and phone called. The biggest issue was the owner who left us with a very rude and unprofessional phone conversation. He called us liars and told us we were talking advantage of his business. For returning a bum $150 boot. I will never be coming back and I can urge everyone to buy gear with a shop that guarantees satisfaction, which was the biggest mistake I made. Great deals but have serious buyer awareness. If something goes unnoticed good luck. Again, awesome employees, nightmare owner. read more

Caution. I bought bike trainer here Winter 16'. $120 and none of the gears worked. Headwall did not want to give me a refund. When asked, they also explained that they did not test the gear. I jokingly asked the person if they would resell the broken trainer and he said yes. Of course, I would not send someone else down the same path. I now have a broken $120 trainer, that I have used twice. I have bought snow boots and a jacket here before. Those were fine. The bike trainer experience certainly lost my respect though. It's shame, because I once enjoyed this store. read more
