I have never seeen or experienced worse health care in my 61 years of life. They make appointments and pull no shows or cancellations for virtually every one of them. I had to make 10 calls in order to get bloodwork done that they themselves had ordered. Not only do they cancel all the time, they cancel at the last second, ruining any prior plans you may have had for the day. I thought they would be a viable option to waiting endlessly for buses in the cold weather to get to a doctor, but what they have cost me in frustration is unbelievable. They should be shut down as they do not provide care, only frustration and aggravation. Don't bother. I made an appointment for my elderly parent for an in-home visit. Heal confirmed via phone and text the day before. We were told that we were the FIRST appointment of the day. However, on the day of the appointment, we waited for *THREE HOURS* for a nurse practitioner (no doctor is available, by the way) and the nurse was still a NO SHOW. We were told the nurse was stuck in traffic that long and that there were not enough doctors and nurses available to cover all areas. Never again. read more

I'm back again. I'm still saying that Dr Jimmy Wong and Rasheeda(NP) are hands down, excellent physicians. When you ask them a question, it's answered to your satisfaction, no B.S., when I need my medicine sent to the pharmacy (all of them), it's done, that day. But once he leaves and I need things like referrals he wrote sent to the proper places; Nope, Nope times a million Nopes. I'm still waiting on my Physical Therapy referral from July to be sent from the office. I have called over 20 times and spoken to 4 supervisors. Still I'm without physical therapy. Something so simple, it's unbelievable. It's now September and I'm seeing Jimmy Wong again. Asking, pleading that he have the support staff send out the referral as needed and prescribed. I've referred many home bound and elderly patients to Heal; but I was honest with these people also, in that, the support staff, has a lot to improve on. This will bring a company DOWN. read more

Geriatric case manager I am working with on behalf of my home bound father signed him up for a in home visit from HEAL. Spam emails started immediately, and for one home visit, I received texts, an email the day before confirming the appointment "window" of time, and a call. So far...annoyed by the Spam email but understand it's an APP based world now so have to deal with this kind of thing to get what my dad needs. Day of appointment I get a text notifying me a doctor will arrive in half an hour - but NOT at the time they've confirmed to me multiple times and for a time which does not work in our schedule. Called their offices: first person I spoke to could not explain why the appointment time had been moved and hung up. Second call got me to someone who could at least READ the record on their system, and said "Someone changed the appointment time". GEE - I figured that out! That's why I am calling! She had no idea WHO had done that...although she started out by explaining it was hard for them to know exactly when a visit could take place, due to traffic issues. Huh? You told me you would arrive between 4 to 6 pm, and now you're coming at 1? How does that have anything to do with TRAFFIC? NOT impressed. Told the case manager I'd cancelled the appointment and am not interested in working with this service. Physician - HEAL thyself and get with the program! Another case of an APP in search of a staff and training and all those other good things an actual medical practice CAN provide. I have no idea how the actual service might have been, but since the lead-up to a botched home appointment was so irritating, I am not giving them a second chance. My elderly parent was pleased with their services until they began to send different Physician Assistants. They made and confirmed appointments. Then last minute would call and push back date or cancel. Then during the pandemic when they were not visiting, one of their former PA, that separated from their company, that why she said she would not be visiting anymore, attempted to bill my parent's insurance fraudulently. The PA attempted to bill for a visit and treatment. They claimed my homebound parent went out during the quarantine period to a location in another borough. I would know because I take him to all his appointments. I do recommend visits by the Podiatrist. We appreciated those services very much. Then today, after a year of requesting they forward copies of my Parent's medical record to his current physician, I receive call. The person speaking poor English,identifies themselves as representing Heal. I asked for someone that spoke either better English or Spanish. I was not connected to anyone else. However, from what I could gather, they are no longer accepting the insurance and want to recommend a new Doctor that does. I explained that we have a current primary care physician and would like the medical records released. The representative said good bye and hung up. CONFUSING I would recommend the service if patient unable to walk to obtain care as an out patient. However, if able to transport the individual, then go to an actual medical facility read more

Let me start by start by saying most of the doctors that have seen my grandmother have been great. However, the rest of the system is terrible. 1st blunder was 2 months of waiting for authorization for a hospital bed. Every time I called they gave me a different story. 2nd blunder trying to get her physical therapy and home health aide has been a 3-month process. Every time I call I'm giving a different answer. It's just ridiculous. Like I said the doctors that have come to see her I have been grateful for because my grandmother cannot leave the house. To say the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing is an understatement. I work 3 days/wk and have repeatedly told them that appointments for my 100+ year old mother must be on my off days so that I can be present. The information never seemed to make it into the record and I would repeatedly receive phone calls "confirming" appointments on days that I was not available. "Confirming" usually means that an appointment day/time has been agreed upon and they are calling to make sure I don't need to cancel. BUT I NEVER MADE THE APPOINTMENT. They make it at their convenience, not ours! I have been using the service for my mother for almost 2 years. If not for her I would have nothing to do with this organization and the fact that they receive medicare and other insurance payments absolutely galls me! Most recently we made an appointment which we were told would take place between 8am -10am on the appointed day. The day before the appointment I received an automated call "confirming" my appointment between 5pm-7pm. I decided to do an online chat and was told the appointment would be from 1pm-6pm and I told them that was unacceptable. Forget that the times were all over the place, now they wouldn't even give me a 2 hour window!! I insisted on a "firm" 2 hour window and was finally told it would be from 4pm-6pm...probably around 5:30pm. Then comes the day of the appointment and I receive a call at 11:30am to tell me the doctor wanted to come at that time. I said NO as I needed to get my mom out of bed, fed, bathed, dressed and ready for the visit and they would have to call me back in an hour. The doctor called an hour later, came, examined my mom and left. That should have been the end of it but things can ALWAYS get worse with these folks. At 4:42pm I simultaneously received a text message and an automated call telling me my provider was scheduled to arrive between 4:40PM and 5:10PM. As if all that wasn't bad enough, phone calls from this provided come from countless phone numbers and do not indicate the call is coming from HEAL. With everyone being inundated with scam calls and BS phone calls, it's easy to just not answer if you don't recognize the number and risk the chance of missing an important call about your appointment. Clearly the concept of "First, do no harm" is not part of their philosophy. I have told them that, as my mother's caregiver, they are making ME sick! If you can avoid using this service then don't. If you have to use them for yourself, have an advocate to help you deal with their inefficiency, lousy service, poor training and total disregard for their clients. read more

This "doctor" who really wasn't a doctor at all but a NP but decided that she would call herself a doctor anyway, was very unprofessional towards me alleging that she would not be able to have a life if she continues treating my mother. I sent a text asking a question on a Sunday just to make her aware of a medication problem that although was not an emergency nor required immediate attention but thought I should make her aware, as I do tend to be forgetful at times. I also have a lot on my plate juggling many things that which includes a mom who has advanced dementia and is non communicative. I really wasn't expecting this NP to get back to me on a Sunday, I even apologized for doing so. Out of nowhere she sends me a text letting me know in not so many words that she will not be treating my mom any longer and that she has a life and a family and continuing to treat my mother would take those things away. IF SOMEONE CAN RECOMMEND AN ALTERNATIVE in BROOKLYN, PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP. I guess now that HEAL seems to be the only game in town for in-home visits, it gives them license to provide poor services, poor communication and no way to reach out through their 'PORTAL" and are not inclined to correct their issues. Sadly, Doctors On Call ("DOC") was taken over by HEAL IN 2019. It was my understanding that DOC was very responsive and took good care of their patients. HEAL is disorganized and non-responsive and their 'technology innovation' needs serious work. Their well crafted press release states " Through the touch of an app or a click on our site, a highly-vetted, qualified medical doctor will arrive at your door, twelve hours a day, 365 days a year." The initial visit with an actual DR. was satisfactory - she was pleasant enough, but was then informed me that she WOULD NOT prescribe the "Controlled Substance" that my ailing bedridden mother REQUIRES to help keep her comfortable and something she has been for over a year - their answer was to contact a pain mgmt specialist, which they did refer. Having received a call from some PARK AVENUE (in Manhattan) pain mgmt office, was told they could do a telemed call - can someone explain what purpose this would serve (other than billing Medicare???? I declined the appointment. I told HEAL that not prescribing the required medication was UNACCEPTABLE and provided the medical authorization to get it done. The DR. would not do it but the NP would. The following appointment was with an NP ("Nurse Practitioner") TELEMED when my mom got a terrible infection. Initially, that was fine and antibiotics were prescribed. The situation continued to get worse. Finally, another NP came to the house and prescribed additional antibiotics. The situation has gone from bad to worse and will likely have to hospitalize my mother (which I am loath to do) in her fragile state. Waited for 4 hours for them to get back to me (which they never did). I finally called them and was told that a telemed appt was scheduled for the next day. They did provide rereferrals for a podiatrist, who came - was very nice and I am grateful for that. If you have an option to actually go to your Dr. - do it. read more

Needs much work as the website is misleading patients into thinking that there care is in the right hands. It also states 24/7 service that is not present. Doctors lie to patients and say they will send in prescriptions and only do after 50 or so calls and only after waiting for days even weeks at times. Heal.com chat app is laughable at best as they offer no help to patients and instead send links to explain what heal.com is. Not even worth one star. read more

I previously worked at Heal and want to take the opportunity to warn all patients and potential providers. The place is not what it seems at all, great sales-people but the worst logistics I've ever seen. I've never had more patients complain about having appointments scheduled they didn't request, not getting meds on time, being on hold when having a medical request or being told they would receive a call back and never receive it. On the provider side I was shocked. We would have been more organized if we used google-docs instead of their medical record system, the turn-over rate for employees was very high and everyone was unhappy, and to top it all off there were no COVID precautions in place at all. No paper screens for fever on the side of providers or drivers, no testing, no asking us if we are elevated risk or if we should be working. This for a job that has the provider sitting in a care with someone else over a 12 hour shift while visiting houses where clients have unreliable mask use. Very high risk, I'm surprised no one got sick when I was there. Alarmingly, after I quit I somehow became a patient! I received a text message saying that my provider will be at my house the next day!! I never requested a doc, and would never, never ever use Heal for my health care. Moreover, I was working at the random time they made my appointment. It took me 4 calls to cancel, but then they rescheduled the appointment for the next week! I had to call my old manager and demand my information was removed from their system, otherwise I was concerned I would be involved in some health care fraud. Overall I'm glad to not be professionally associated with Heal Doctors anymore. I have warned all family and friends to stay away, and hope none of my colleagues fall for their trap. read more

If you care about your loved one please stay away from this network. Mom had a primary care physician for 40years and he brought his practice to this network. I feel sorry for any of his other patients and pray for there safty. The heal team cannot get out of there own way. The left dosnt know what the right is doing and you become just a number in there multi level marketing scam trying to replace healthcare with technology. Numerous times orders are put through by primary care Dr and the follow through never happans. Mom had a stroke and was being cared for by home and from the beginning they mismanaged her care. Creating more stress for the patient advocate. It was a constant Blame game and passing the buck while people relied and hid behind a system that has many flaws, in the end there system brought undo stress to my moms health care. Up to even getting a referral to hospice Wich was a mess. Order for fluids where put in and no one could get the script filled for over 4 weeks causing mom to go back to hospital due to dehydration and a heart attack. I'm a very competent person and if I can't manage moms care through this network I promise you will have much difficulty. This network should be shutdown and scrutinized by the powers that be. Moms primary Dr should be ashamed of himself to put my mom and her family through this, I only pray people don't experience what I experienced. Please stay far away if you want to stay alive. The initial & only home visit from the Dr. went well. After that, it's been an impossible nightmare. I called to discuss my mother's medication with her doctor. I was told a message would be sent. The Dr. returned the call 3 weeks later (I had already adjusted the medicine myself). Recently I called again for the same thing plus a refill. I was offered an appt for 9 days later. The auto call went toy sister instead of me with no option to speak to a live person. The appt time was incorrect. I corrected it the next day, or so I thought. Much longer story short, I had to speak to 4 people, including a "supervisor" until I got a Dr. to call me. Dr. Hazel as she referred to herself REFUSED to provide a refill as she's not my mother's primary provider. Apparently she had a new appt scheduled but again NOT WITH THE PCP. 5 days later my mother's meds weren't adjusted or refilled. THIS PLACE HAS NO PROBLEM BILLING MEDICARE FOR SERVICES NOT RENDERED!!!! AVOID THIS CO. Staff knows very little and DOES LESS!!!!!! read more

Worst patient services ever. Since taking over Doctors on Call they rarely, if ever, answer their phones. I have left at least three messages and never received a call back. They need to get heir act together if they are going to serve homebound and elderly patients. Only once, after waiting on hold for 20 minutes, was I able to get through to an actual persons, I explained why I was calling and was told that I wold get a call back that never came. read more

Arranged an appointment through Heal.com for my elderly neighbor to get a medical evaluation for her move to Assisted Living. The appointment was changed to later in the day (2 - 4pm), as notified through a text. Thankfully, knowing how these things usually go, we had kept the whole afternoon free, just in case. Dr. Ira Salom arrived at 3:30pm and was efficient, pleasant, and very helpful. He was more than willing to fill out all the medical evaluation forms. It was truly a pleasure and you don't often say that from any doctor visits. It was such a relief to me and to my neighbor not to have to try to get her to/from an off-site doctor's appointment, which is very challenging for an elder person. Then to have such a positive experience with Dr. Salom made it even better. I wish I had discovered Heal.com when my late parents were still around and needing medical care!
