Back in 2018 I started Acupuncture with Ida. I was a few months into my pregnancy and I needed some relief from stress and headaches. I continued to go throughout my pregnancy. Once my little boy was born he was having difficulty with bowel movements. I immediately took him in and she treated my newborn. After a few sessions he was normal. I have also taken my oldest (6 years old) for congestion issues and after a few sessions and supplements he was back to his normal self. I can not recommend Healing Circle Community Acupuncture enough! I went to Ida when I was 37 weeks with twins and wanted to go into natural labor. She was so understanding, kind and attentive. She for me right into her schedule and made sure that each visit I was comfortable, addressing my body's needs, and (most importantly for me) heading to natural, spontaneous labor. After 3 sessions with Ida I went into labor! (Literally 2 hours after my third session!) I was able to go into spontaneous labor and have my twins naturally. This review is for the person answering phones named Vanessa. It might actually be a good place for acupuncture if you could get past the incompetent front office staff. I called to schedule a new patient appointment and provided my insurance information. She called me back and told me I had no coverage and would need to pay out-of-pocket for my visit. I told her that was inaccurate as I know my benefits coverage with my Health Plan and this place was actually listed on my plan portal as an in-network provider. She told me she called and that's what they told her (granted I know that was a lie because I work for the Health Plan I have coverage through). I asked her for a good email and told her I would be happy to email her my Health Plan Benefits Summary showing I have coverage. She then called me back 30 minutes later stating she called my Health Plan again and spoke with someone else who now confirmed I actually do have coverage (surprise, surprise I already know that) but that I would still need to pay out of pocket because of some inaccurate excuse she tried to give me about my deductible and 12 visits. I told her no, you need to bill my plan and I pay the remaining 20% of those costs. She said no it would be the other way around where I would have to pay total then the office would reimburse what my insurance paid to their office?!?! Huh?!?! She had no idea how insurances or deductibles work. Seems like this office may be interested in cash pay patients only or she just was very unfamiliar with how to do her job correctly. Today I had the blessing of having a recently-made friend, Ida Mat Aris, perform my first-ever acupuncture treatment. Ida was very highly recommended by one of my best friends who swears by her work. Recently battling a few health issues myself, I decided to give it a try. Her office is calming the moment you walk in. Soft scents of lavender wash over you when you walk in the door, and calming music is heard in the background. Her walls are a calming lavender shade. Everything about her office is soothing. The treatment room was the embodiment of relaxation. There were about six chairs, from what I remember, all very well a good distance from the one beside it. She treats all her patients in the same room. No need to ever feel self-conscious as she works on your limbs and your head / ears. Wearing loose fitting clothes are enough (I wore a t-shirt and shorts and it was perfect). Was I scared? At first. I had visions of being a virtual pin-cushion. No need for a voo-doo doll, I would be it! All this anxiety was completely unfounded. Before my session, Ida took a great deal of time to get to know me, and all my medical issues. She cared very much about my medical history, and explained how many if the issues I now face may have been caused by decisions i made (in diet or otherwise) from as much as a decade ago! Ida explained in great detail the cause and effect of the western "convenience" diet, and how many of these high-sugar, low nutrition choices can - over time - build up to affect long term health. We even had an interesting conversation about Genetically Modified Foods and the controversy as to their safety. The procedure itself was virtually painless, and extremely relaxing. After she places the needles, you remain reclined for about 20-30 minutes while the procedure does its "thing". When Ida removed the needles, it was as pain-free as when they went in. Even now, nine hours after my session, I feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Ida is phenomenal. She is interested in the entire well-being of her patients. She is ethical, professional, and very good at what she does. If you suffer from any chronic illness... High blood pressure, anxiety, diabetes, depression, stress, auto-immune disorders, pain management, etc... I urge you to think outside the box and give Acupuncture a shot. God knows, it can't hurt you, it can only help! And don't say you can't afford it. She is very reasonably priced! It is good to know for Acupuncture Noobs such as myself, that the needle never goes in far enough to draw blood. It stays in your skin-level. This should ease many apprehensions you may have. I've been going to Healing Circle for several months now. I'm definitely a skeptic of acupuncture and other holistic treatments, but my dad recommended me to try it for my multiple problems: severe dry, red eyes and left arm numbness. I met Ida who is very friendly, knowledgeable, and has a lot to share. The actual needles don't hurt at all. They are thin and nothing like a shot. It's barely noticeable. The actual session is like 20-30 minutes long when you just rest. At first I thought, "That's all?" But it is quite relaxing (so long as people next to you are not noisy). Several times I completely fell asleep. Anyway Ida has a lot of knowledge about various supplements. She recommended one specifically that has seemed to help alleviate some redness in my eyes.
