I didn't know what I was missing until a coworker recommended this place. First of all, the girls in the front are so nice and friendly. I love the ease of using the iPad to sign in and update on the troubled areas as appointments go on. Dr. Mai took her time to do an assessment on my back pain during my first appointment and told me what might be the cause. The i was taken to a different room to do some type of therapy and get your body loose before getting the adjustment. I don't know the exact terminology but it is amazing! They have a rolling table and a massage chair that is like magic! Sara is my girl! She always puts the perfect settings with all the gadgets and makes sure I'm comfortable. I decided to come here for acupuncture on my neck, mid back & lower back pain. Seeing all the positive reviews on Yelp I though Dr. Kelly's treatment might be able to ease my pain but that was not the case. She is really busy and do not have time to listen to your medical history at all. In the first session, the whole treatment was very rush and rough, it takes her about 2min to ask me where the pain is located, another 2 mins for her to put the needles on my back, and I was left unattended for 30mins until the alarm went off, and another employee come in and said " u can go now, go to the front to make another appointment " I felt more pain after the session so I don't think I will go back again. read more

This doctor was good at her job & she was kind but the staff is a hot mess, the first visit was ok but the second visit the lady at the front desk made me wait 15 minutes and then told me I had to wait an additional 15 minutes. There was no way I could do it so I had to leave, my next visit they told me to be there at 1 o'clock. I came & the door was locked, they saw me standing outside and just sat there. They watched me walk away and then called me immediately after I left. She said she took a longer break, and told me to come back at 2:30. I called six times and no one answered the phone, then without any conversation, she told me she scheduled me for Friday. I'm like what! My back is killing me. This place is so unprofessional. I feel like Kelly needs to look for new workers because these people she has now will just waste your time and don't have a care in the world about it...also, it's filthy dirty at this establishment. Don't be misled by the facility's modest exterior. This is a clean, fully equipped practice with comfortable furnishings and up-to-date equipment. The staff is friendly and efficient and Dr. Kelley Mai herself is exceedingly competent, personable, and caring. She listens to her patients and designs their treatments accordingly. The music in the treatment rooms is both melodic and soothing. Dr. Mai offers both chiropractic adjustments and traditional Chinese medicinal treatments, including electro acupuncture, moxibustion, and Asian herbs. She's as talented with keeping plants healthy as she is with humans. Her office contains a beautiful bonsai, an orchid so perfect that it looks artificial, and other wonderful specimens. The practice also offers massage. They're performed by someone other than Dr. Mai. I've never had a massage at that practice so I can't comment on that aspect, but the chiropractic and acupuncture are all that you'd expect our want. read more

I have been to other chiropractors before, but the electric muscle nodes and massage table/chair are a welcomed addition to a normal adjustment. I had some issues with my lower back, and recently my traps/neck, and Dr. Mai and the other staff really have listened to my needs and helped keep me going. Been seeing Dr.Mai for over 6 years now! I started going to her because I was suffering back pain. Working at a desk, driving for hours, and being rear ended was terrible on my back. I tried deep tissue massages (I still love but that is very expensive!). When I started seeing Dr.Mai I was going every week or every other week and quickly felt better. I was having back and neck pain for a few months now, and last week it became noticeably worse. Came here for the $39 evaluation and I'm very pleased with how much better I feel already. The receptionist was more than accommodating while Dr. Mai was professional, informative and patient with all my questions and concerns. The wait wasn't long on a Saturday morning. After my evaluation, I had electro-therapy and laid on a roller. While waiting to be adjusted I sat in their massage chair that's conveniently placed in the room for you. After my adjustment, Dr. Mai recommended a stretch I do while sitting at work and advised improvements will be more noticeable if treatments are done on a close, consistent basis. Update: Each session ($45 each) began to feel rushed and my last adjustment left me with a major headache. I've stopped going since, but I'm sure going consistently for a long period of time helps. Dr. Kelly Mai is AWESOME. This place is excellent all the way around. Dr. Mai is extremely knowledgable about the body, muscles, the spine, and how they all work together. She is honest, ethical and nice. She really is looking out for her patient, and wants the best for each and every one of them. I had been training for a triathlon, but had to stop because my bad was hurting me to much. With Dr. Mai's assistance, I was back on my bike after less than 3 weeks. Once she diagnosed with my problem areas I got worked on in my problem spots and sent home with stretches and exercises as homework. BEWARE! I went in to Dr. Mai's office today for an adjustment after experiencing neck pains for the last few days, and I even brought my girlfriend along for an adjustment as well who had some minor complaints. We will not be returning. Ms. Mai's chiropractic skills were literally disastrous. She was very rough and lacked grace in her adjustments.. it is actually pretty scary to imagine she approaches her patients necks and spines with such force and lack of technique. My second critique of her work is that she performed the adjustments generically without actually feeling for (she felt during the initial consult/assessment - not at all accurately and carefully during the adjustment) discerning what needed to be manipulated. She tells her patient to breathe in and relax to prepare for the adjustment but rushes so quickly that you have to breathe out because you're nervous that she might adjust you before you're ready. Not only that but when she struggled and could not get the joints to pop, she continuously and forcefully tries again and again immediately without even offering a moment to possibly reposition and ultimately to no avail. What has me most outraged is that she actually injured my girlfriend! When I asked my girlfriend how things went she complained of the exact same aforementioned things I experienced. Part of Ms. Mai's initial consultation questioning was "are you experiencing any numbness or tingling?" Well.. before we arrived to Mai's office, my girlfriends answer to this question was 'no', and now hours later my girlfriend is experiencing a constant tingling and pain throughout her entire body. I immediately contacted a family friend who is a very professional chiropractor himself to get an idea of what was going on. He informed us that Ms. Mai's improper techniques most likely has irritated a nerve, and that there might even be a possibility she may have even fractured a bone. He advised us to keep an eye on her status over the next few hours and if things worsen to go to an urgent care or ER for possible x rays and medical care. As for me, my neck pain was better for a little while, went back to its original status, and now is worsening as well. We go to doctors for help and relief, not to feel worse! I really hope Dr. Mai takes a good evaluation of her practice and strives to greatly improve upon her work before she hurts someone else. read more

I have been going to Dr. Mai for YEARS! I started off with her years ago when she was co-located with a different chiropractic office. When that practice was sold, she moved on to another office. I followed her to that second location, but was ECSTATIC when she moved to a sole practice location. Dr. Mai's staff is very dedicated; Jen is amazing when it comes to insurance issues, and Nancy makes you feel comfortable when she puts you in a treatment room. Nancy is also a massage therapist so if you need one, she's available. Several insurance companies will cover massage therapies if they are associated with a medical/chiropractic practice, so check with your insurance to see if you have that benefit. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Mai herself; she's gentle, compassionate and listens to your issues/complaints so she can tailor acupuncture to the specific problem. I suffered two on-the-job knee injuries, complicated by all the low back and hip problems that come with a compromised gait. Between the adjustments and acupuncture treatments, Dr. Mai is the reason I have been able to stave off knee replacements. I like the fact that there is no pressure for 'up sells'; Dr. Mai gives you her recommendations for a course of treatment, but then leaves it in YOUR hands to determine your next step. Dr. Mai has been working with me for several months now. I was skeptical about chiropractic care before I was ever referred to her. Boy did she prove its value. I was referred to Dr. Mai for nagging lower back pain. I went months with pain that was extremely debilitating. I was not able to lift weights without my back locking up on me for weeks. As a competing powerlifter, this is a major concern. Upon my first meeting with Dr. Mai she was very understanding of my goals as an athlete and assured me that we'd work together to get back to lifting maximal again. Sure enough, after several sessions with her I was back to setting personal records again. Not only was I setting personal records, but I was getting into positions that I haven't been in in years without pain. The environment that she creates in the office is another experience worth going for. She plays soothing background music to help you relax while you get your back worked on. It is an excellent stress relieving experience (I will admit I have dozed off a few times). The acupuncture that Dr Mai provides allows me to be relieved for pain for weeks. I always walk out standing straighter if that makes sense. I've never done Chiro with Dr Mai however i did it one time while she was out with another doctor who was filling in while she was one vacation. No stars on that experience.
