Robyn is super easy to work with, arrived ahead of time to set up and she was ready to get to work. I was the first in line! Her henna designs and handiwork are phenomenal-- the lines are clean and precise, and she is quick! She has such a sweet personality, super patient that adults and kids gravitate towards her. My guests LOVED her -- I had assumed that only the kids would want to have henna done but after seeing the variety of impressive designs, most of the adults (women as well as the men) wanted to get it done. I recently had the pleasure of working with Robyn and Julia at a recent work event. I hired them both for 3 hours for an event I was holding in the office and they were both wonderful. Not only was their work absolutely beautiful but they were wonderful to work with and every one very much enjoyed their work. What was really great was that they were able to do designs outside of the typical/traditional henna tattoos. We had everything done from traditional hand henna to dinosaurs, and suns to sailor anchor tattoos. It's been over a week and the henna tattoo by Robyn on my belly still looks A-MAZING! After doing my homework on Yelp, I contacted Robyn to see if she was available for my mother/baby blessing. She was prompt to respond and very professional to deal with. After confirming the date, time and a $25 deposit over PayPal, I was able to book her services for my special event. Robyn is a true artist! I told her that I wanted a dragon to honor my baby boy being born in the year of the dragon. She sent me some photos of her previous work and brought a portfolio the day of my event. After flipping through the designs, I decided to leave it up to her, only requesting that the dragon be combined with hearts and flowers to represent the yin and yang of my personality. I am so glad I trusted her because she certainly did not disappoint. All of my guests were so impressed. A few hesitant friends decided to get hennas after seeing her beautiful work on my belly. The added perk of booking with Robyn is that she's not only fast and fantastic with hennas, she also does face painting and glitter tattoos! I had a few kiddies attend who opted for the latter options. She was such a joy to have at our event and was a huge hit. She was patient to answer any questions about what henna was made of, explaining how she incorporates different essential oils for different types of events. She even let two little girls keep hair clips she used on them to get the hair out of their faces which totally brought huge smiles to their faces. A great friend of mine recently finished her first trimester. The transition has been a bit challenging with the pregnancy unplanned. We decided to help nudge her along in her journey by getting together to celebrate her growing womb. Though she is just gaining her confidence about being an exceptional mom, we wanted to get together and do something honoring her, and her belly. I had experienced Robyn's henna talent before and couldn't think of anyone I'd rather share this experience with. I remember feeling really beautiful with the last design she created for me. I had been in a bit of a slump style wise, and then all of a sudden found the inspiration to coordinate skirts and eye makeup with the henna. For a girl who rarely does more than curl her eyelashes before leaving the house, this is a big thing!! I recently got married and Robyn provided a really wonderful bridal mehndi experience for me and my guests. My husband is East African Indian and I am American. We wanted to incorporate the henna tradition into our ceremony in an alternative and creative way-- a bit of a departure from the formal style, while honoring the practice. Robyn came to my house before the wedding, and helped me choose designs that were beautiful and a little bit different, not full coverage, but very very detailed. She worked for four hours, and then gave me good instructions about how to make the stain deepen. The henna was dark and beautiful, with fine detail all over my hands and feet. We also felt it was important to share the henna with our guests, so, on the morning of the wedding, Robyn drove to our location in Pescadero and set up by the pool to offer henna to our friends and family. She was lovely and friendly, and she worked so fast! Our friends who hadn't experienced henna before had a wonderful introduction, and people who were familiar with the practice were impressed with Robyn's skills and her speed. Could Robin be more cool or talented? Not so much. This woman has the most incredible designs and she is so flexible and she can work with any style. I've had her do henna for me over 15 times and it is ALWAYS exceptional. That is why I keep going back to her. Whenever I want something special for a special event or party I go to Robyn. I do not have any tattoos so I have a lot of fun having her do my henna to spice up an outfit. I've had henna done for Burning man too. Sometimes I see an image and bring it with me so she can be inspired by the art and incorporate it into her designs. One henna design is rarely enough. I like to have her do a couple large pieces each time I see her. Maybe one on my hand and one on my my ankle, back, belly or shoulder. If you bring your dress she can work her art to complement the design of your dress. I photographed a maternity portrait and she did the most amazing design on the mother-to-be's belly!!! Another important aspect of Robins' talent lies in her soothing, pleasant, upbeat nature. I always love learning from Robyn about her craft and her latest additions to her business. I love the way she adds glitter to her henna and it smells so incredibly good to with her special blend of ingredients while still giving a great long lasting stain. I have also had her do a few of my special events for my photography business and she always has a huge line of fans around her waiting for her art to be applied so they can take some of it back into their lives like I have. Getting henna during my pregnancy from Robyn was really an unexpected treat. My pregnancy was tough and I wasn't sure I would get to experience some of the more fun aspects that can come along with the experience.
