The staff are knowledgeable of course but they are all funny, like I said therapy is hard and they take my mind off of the work. My sessions go by fast and my results are fantastic. Before my first surgery I felt like I was 99 years old and 5 months after I was hiking 7 and 8 miles at Yellowstone park. I can't believe I'd ever have come this far so fast. I had Mike Schmidt as my PT and I can not say enough good things about him. He was honest about everything I needed to do and he got me to my goals. Everyone who works there are fantastic from the front desk to the other therapists. They made my insurance company and my work requested paperwork go easy for me. I can say, without any reservation whatsoever, my PT at SSM Health Physical Therapy in Downtown Kirkwood has made the entire process nothing short of a COMPLETE SUCCESS. Kim Henze, my Physical Therapist, just might be the very best medical professional I have ever worked with. Folks, I turn 70 later this year, so this is definitely not my first rodeo! What makes Kim Henze so special? Lots of reasons! Here are just a few: 1) Kim knows her stuff! Extremely sharp! She never failed to impress me about her knowledge and expertise in the physical therapy field. Whenever I expressed a concern , she knew exactly how to address the issue, and carefully explained the recommended process to resolve the issue. 2) Trust me, this is a good thing....Kim is a perfectionist. She understands physical therapy requires a real commitment from the patient. It is not easy. Kim made it clear that when doing the various therapy exercises, keeping the correct "form" is critical. I love that. I don't want to waste my time doing things incorrectly. That doesn't happen with Kim Henze. Whitney, at the front desk, is the heart of the operation. She knows everything and will try her best to get you in. HOWEVER, there are not enough appointments here and it can be tough to get a slot. The billing system seems like a mess. Early on, I paid by cash a few times (big mistake) and it took weeks to iron out what I owed. Then, later, I was randomly charged $100 I didn't owe. These are great folks, but they need a new billing system. Okay, money stuff done. Jen Duffie is an exceptional physical therapist. She helped me in my very worst moments; when I was dealing with excruciating pain. She's encouraging and non-judgmental. I've also been treated by Ashley Crain, as well at PTAS Jenny and Emily. That's right "2" from 13 years of "800 mcg of Fentanyl" Give me a F......N break Dr R.F... do no Harm! Pain pumps were around in 1990...why wasn't one tried on me before the double fusion-fentanyl & novocaine cocktails from 2005 to 2017 1/2? "GREED" simple greed is the only word that works. I began coming in January post hip surgery and am still a patient!…read more What an awesome facility is all I can say. Plenty of up front parking for both handicap and specifically for PT Patients. The clinic is VERY clean. Everything is carefully wiped down with@(day appropriate cleaner and all linens where changed and properly cleaned. Nothing is laying out or not in an organized manner, it's great! They have an amazing device called alt-g, an anti gravity treadmill. You can walk with 0-100% weight bearing on a treadmill, that has been SO helpful. They have parallel bars, Thera bands, mats, bikes, ellipticals, and personal treatment rooms for evaluations to maintain privacy. The entire staff, the therapists and the PSSs are amazing! If you're looking for PT, I highly recommend! I have Katie as my PT post hip surgery and she has been absolutely phenomenal!
