I've told physical therapists time and again, "work me, get me back into shape" and they just chuckle, giggle and continue with their protocol. Dr Katie heard my concerns, "My body has flopped" I told her. She knew what I was saying, she told me what was going on with the muscles and what we need to do to get them going again. She gave me pictures of what to do and used words that I understood. I highly recommend her. The men sometimes get booked. I don't know why. The front desk has an ignorant view of women therapists...and are booking the guys and ignoring the woman. I was fooled at first. After dealing with the guys, and they are great, but seeing Dr Katie WORK I felt she would be better for me and she is. One needs to call for an appointment as soon as the surgery date is set and make the appointment for the 2nd or 3rd day or week after surgery, what ever the Dr who operates recommends, depending on the surgical procedure done. Whether it is recovery from surgery, an injury or other pain complaint a Dr's 'script is necessary. I just see my Dr and ask her/im to write the necessary 'script and fax or e-mail it to RPI. They are quite proficient at communicating with my Dr. and have been most helpful in avoiding surgery at times. Every one told me I needed back surgery! Can you imagine? RPI dealt with my back and within a few weeks I was pain free and moving very well. 4 years later, still no back issues at all, ever since they taught me how to strengthen certain muscles. They also work very well with my insurance, no small feat. I just pay a co-pay when I visit and they take care of the rest. Thank you RPI, peace. PS Getting to the Brentwood Location can be tricky with all the highways but just know you may turn around and do take it slow and legal and be safe. Getting to the Creve Coeur location, well they give great directions but the "digs" and environment are "nothing to write home about" if you are not used to older buildings but know that the results are so worth overlooking something that minor. read more

My first experience with RPI Creve Coeur was two years ago when I fractured my ankle. Under the care of Jonty, I quickly regained my strength in my ankle and leg. Recently, when I needed therapy for bulging discs, resting on the nerve of my leg, I immediately called RPI. This time my therapist was Katie. Like Jonty, she cared about me as a person and truly listened to my concerns and my prior health issues, as she created an exercise program that I can easily continue at home. If an exercise was too difficult for me, Katie quickly modified it to fit my particular needs, strengths and weaknesses. After a setback from traveling, instead of pushing to add more exercises to my regime, Katie focused on eliminating the new pain, enabling me to quickly return to my pre-travel self. RPI Creve Coeur is conveniently located by the JCCA off Lindbergh. The therapists and assistants help one another, making it a very friendly, homey atmosphere, where everyone cares about you. The office managers are aware of different coverage by various insurance companies, as they handle the bureaucracy of the paperwork for the clients. They are friendly and patient as they help the clients with scheduling, saying hello or offering to contact a doctor's office about a question. I am a first-time, breastfeeding mom, and I developed a persistent, PAINFUL plugged milk duct. After speaking to the lactation consultants at MoBap multiple times, they recommended I call RPI for an ultrasound treatment. From the first time I called, the staff at RPI was extremely helpful and kind. They found me an appointment as soon as possible, and invited me to bring my baby to the office with me if need be. They were so welcoming to my mother-in-law, as she sat in the waiting room with my baby during each of my treatments! In addition, my physical therapist - Ashley - is warm, helpful and great at her job. I am thrilled to say that after several treatments, the pain is gone and I am able to feed my baby again. What a tremendous relief. When my OB and every lactation specialist I consulted could not really help, Ashley fixed the problem. Who knew that there was physical therapy for breasts??? I certainly didn't, and I can't say enough good things about my experience at RPI. I *hope* I won't need to go back, but should I develop an issue again, I will most definitely call right away. read more

This was my first experience with RPI for a shoulder replacement surgery I had. Everything about my experience with RPI has been exceptional. From the receptionists who came to know my name, to the assistants, and especially to my physical therapist (Jeff Wilcox), they all were very professional and personable. Jeff challenged me, explained very patiently and thoroughly the exercises I was to do, and complimented me on my progress. As much as I hated it, he also was excellent in the "movements and adjustments" that he did on my shoulder. He was enthusiastic and very friendly. The facilities are outstanding and any issues with my medical insurance were resolved quickly and to my satisfaction. Also, I never had to wait when I had an appointment set. 7 years ago I was in a snowboarding accident and had severe nerve damage and fractured my lower lumbar. Since then I have had constant pain in my lower back. I have been to 4 other physical therapists and 2 orthopedic surgeons and they could never pinpoint the cause of my pain. After deciding to try out RPI, my therapist Jim was able to find exactly where my pain was coming from and why it was being caused. Through Jim and his assistants care I was able to be directed down the path to recovery - they tried many different types of therapy to find exactly what was right for me. They also sent me home with at home exercises to do to make sure I can continue the healing process. I have never been happier with a medical decision. if you are ever in need of a Physical Therapist, I absolutely recommend Jonathan Gordon at RPI. I've had severe neck pain for 18 years that has gotten progressively worse. 4 auto accident compounded by poor posture, too much time in front of computers and carrying stress up in my shoulders has made for constant pain, regularly spiraling into agony. I've been to doctors, pain management, physical therapy, chiropractors, massage therapist, acupuncturist and done stretching and strengthening and lotions and potions and no one has ever come close to doing what Jonathan has done for me this past year. The front office staff greats you by name and makes sure that you get scheduled for times that are convenient to you. I have had a fantastic experience at RPI. My knees hurt so bad I was hardly doing anything. I have had several weeks of therapy, my balance has improved (somethingI never expected), I am doing more with my grandchildren. Most importantly my pain is gone most of the time. I recently re-injured my low back and decided to go to a chiropractor. After three days and the pain getting worse, I went to my orthopedic surgeon who prescribed medication and physical therapy. I've been a patient at RPI for a month now and I really like the service of the Therapists and the Front Desk Staff. The entire place is very diligent and assertive but not rushing me through anything. Solid care from Jeff and Libby, working my body to strengthen my core at home with stretches, and giving me some actual relief from my Chronic Pain during visits. Erb's Palsy + Psoratic Arthritis = 1 huge pain in the neck. For 44 years, the normal resting position of my right shoulder has been considerably higher than my left shoulder.
