Came for a prenatal massage. Left very disappointed. I've had prenatal massages in the past and this one was the most expensive and the most lackluster. I'm an OBGYN and from their services today you can tell they don't accommodate pregnant women often. 2 stars are because everyone was nice. I just don't think they're trained in depth to serve the needs of pregnant women (ie I was told they couldn't do a foot scrub because it's too "vigorous" and I reported edema.) that's medically not a thing. I also feel my massage therapist was very dainty and soft. I wanted more of a lymphatic style massage to help relieve foot, ankle, and lower leg edema which we discussed at the start. I feel like time was wasted doing ineffective things (ie holding pressure on my neck for several minutes with no movement.) Pregnancy pillow was also extremely uncomfortable. I wasn't asked at all how the pressure was (which is odd since that's a basic of any massage.) I was looking for a bells and whistles massage. Despite their advertising, this was extremely basic (not even a hot towel on the feet or face was used.) Leaving disappointed and $160 (for a 70 min massage) in the hole with no relief. read more

What a wonderful retreat in the middle of the city! I be had soothing and therapeutic massages, but this review is regarding my wife's treatments at Healing touch. She has been doing the Hydroderm facial series. Her results with Laura have been fantastic. Her skin has always been soft, but these treatments have smoothed and rejuvenated her skin. I had an appointment with massage apprentice Mariah at 11:15 am on Friday, 7/29/2022. I requested 120 minutes. It was worth it. I want to rate Mariah more than 5 stars! As an apprentice, she was incredible, and I can honestly say as a long-time patron of having massages back in Hawaii on a regular basis, Mariah has good healing touch hands. I requested deep tissue massage to the legs, arms, neck, shoulders, and back muscles. She focused on the back and buttock muscles. There is one maneuver where she pushes firmly at the base or bony part of the buttocks up toward the head. This was a different and unique technique for me. As I strolled out of the spa, I actually felt I walked with a straighter posture. I also had Laura for a massage earlier in the month. My family and I highly recommend her as well! What a treasure to find on the second floor of the new Hilton! I was able to walk in and luckily they had a cancellation and was able to get in to experienced their 45 minute massage. Perfect after four stressful days at Mayo Clinic. Wonderful to relax on the heated table. I had fun picking out which scent to spray on my mask. I chose peppermint! The price was reasonable too! I recently moved to town and was looking for a place to relax and get a massage for my best friends birthday. I had high hopes because of the other reviews for Healing Touch Spa. Ironically, the touch I received during my massage was not healing, but rather unnerving. My massage therapist seemed very inexperienced, awkward and his hands were shaking the entire time. I came out of my massage the opposite of how I was hoping to feel. So much so, that I did a last minute change for my friend who was set to follow me and she ended up having a better experience with the apprentice. We were in town for a visit to the Mayo Clinic and there's nothing like two weeks of back-to-back appointments and testing to give you knots and kinks galore. So, hubby and I decided to try and find a spot to get some of those aches and pains worked out. This place had the most reviews (we are talking Rochester, after all... lovely town but definitely a small place) so we made appointments for their University Square location. First off, you should know it's a small place... there's no such thing as a "couples massage" because they only have two beds, in two separate rooms. And it's essentially in a shopping center. But hey, that's okay! We were very late due to getting VERY lost. Not their fault. We got the rest of the time that we had booked for, which is all we could ask for. However, all that aside, my masseuse didn't quite cut it for me... granted I've had a lot of massages but there was just a certain level of skill that wasn't there. And this place wasn't the cheapest place we've ever been to, either. To their credit, I let them know my feelings on a satisfaction survey I received and the owner called me almost right away to ask what she could do to make things right. Apparently I had been set up with someone who was very new, so hadn't yet been fully brought up to their standards. Unfortunately I wasn't very inclined to go back, even at a discount, and our schedule didn't really allow it anyway, but I'll give them kudos for the offer. Yelp only works when reviewers are honest, so this is my honest review. My husband was very happy with his masseuse so we'll land right in the middle, at three stars. Given Rochester's slim pickings and the other favorable reviews, I'd say this place is definitely worth trying but you may just want to ask for someone who's been working there for awhile. read more

I was here in Rochester for a conference and stayed at the Double Tree Hotel. I got a 90 minute relaxation massage from Mary and it was amazing!! One of the best massages I have ever gotten. (I've gotten lots of massages in many different cities and in DC where I live.) Her hands are strong and firm but never painful. She was very attentive. I booked massages here for myself and three others for a special occasion. The location did not look clean or neat, had crystals and other strange décor, and the tables were covered with purple fleece blankets, rather than sheets. I spent most of the time in my massage worrying whether the fleece had been washed between clients. Healing Touch could not figure out how to divide the charges among two credit cards. I was significantly over-charged, and I had to call multiple times in attempt to get it corrected (the first time I called, I was told that the person who handled billing was out for a few days so I should call back later--isn't it the business's job to correct such mistakes and shouldn't the business communicate this to the correct person?!). When I finally did speak to the right person, she sent me an incomprehensible invoice. Eventually I gave up and figured I would work it out with my friends directly. All in all, I feel like I was ripped off. read more
