After about 3 hours I began to have an asthmatic reaction breathing in the air. All the paint jobs cannot cover up what's underneath that paint! I really think the building needs to be inspected. Another major downside is the noise level, which at times can be pretty loud as everything kind of echos throughout. There is a very small quiet space on the far east side of the building but with mainly reading chairs, not an ideal place to work if you need a table. If you intend to get some work done here, make sure you have noise cancelling headphones. The perks are the location and a very large parking lot.

We had heard of a water area, but did not see it. We liked the artwork and stained glass. We were surprised that none of the librarians welcomed us, or asked to help. We didn't ask either. We just followed the signs. Suggest someone check the cleanliness of the restrooms regularly. Patrons were not tidy this day. We will return.

The leaders are great and we learn many new songs and motions to songs. It's a great learning tool for the children. There are several play areas where the kids can play with toys, digital pads, Melissa and Doug puzzles, Lakeshore and more. There is a section of board games that one can borrow. It's great as they have many newer games to choose from. I love that I can horror a game for up-to 2 weeks. It's a great way to test a game out to see if we like it or not. There are nice family restrooms with changing tables and a large area to bring a stroller if needed.

Even with wax earplugs or EarPods you simply cannot mask the noise level. I've spoken with staff regarding the issue and was told it's normal. After school is out then you're dealing with disrespectful teenagers, sitting around, acting up and being disruptive and claiming all the decent computers just to sit and watch videos or play games. Can't they do this at home so that others can actually utilize the library as it was meant to be used? If the teens have taken up all the adult allowed area ( yes their sections for the age groups ) and there is a free seat elsewhere you NOT allowed to use it unless you have a child with you. If that's not discriminating I don't know what is. Wasted tax dollars at work!!! Would've been cheaper to build a free daycare center elsewhere. While I enjoy the futuristic modern design, the open center is complete wasted space only designed for aesthetic purposes, not useful. And lastly, with all the windows, it is absolutely freezing in the winter time....and yes burning up in the summer. I suggest New Albany library where the youth have respect for their surroundings, unless you're a deadbeat parent needing to pawn your child off on someone else, then the Gahanna library is for you.
