A couple of years ago ,I went in to have a deep tissue massage that was advertised to be $48.00. This was far less than some of the nicer massage parlors in Lubbock. This parlor was kinda low scale but I wasn't there for the décor , only a good massage. After undressing , she came in and wanted to get the bill settled before the massage. She handed me my bill for the $48.00 I was quoted plus a $20 tip. I told her I thought that was rather excessive and also tips are earned not guaranteed. Had I been dressed I would have left but instead I offered her a $10 tip. She told me that $15 was the minimal on tips. Reluctantly I agreed and proceeded with the massage which was alright but nothing to write home about. I have never gone back. There is many parlors in Lubbock that are nicer with great massages for the prices these people try to extort from people. read more

Stars earned: 1 Star: Great Value - 60 minutes was $52($50 + $2 card fee & I tipped an additional $15= $67). Full body massage utilizing a mix of deep tissue, ashiatsu, oil, and hot stones. 1 Star: Atmosphere - Clean and friendly. 1 Star: Relaxation - Overall, I am pleased with the experience and I will consider returning, but not for less than 90 minute session; as 60 minutes wasn't enough. Stars not earned: 1 Star: Technique- While she performed many different types of moves; many felt rushed and lacked desired pressure. She needed to slow her hands and apply a little more pressure during some techniques. 1 Star: Desired location - I specified tension in my neck, shoulders, and center back on arrival. Was suggested the full body deep tissue service. Knowing it was full body I asked her to focus on these areas. She went over twice when requested again; however she spent a lot of the 60 minutes working other areas. This resulted in remaining tension in these areas. To summarize, it was a very relaxing and pleasant experience. The desired results could have been achieved within 60 minutes if she would have focused on the areas specified, yet I left with tension still in these areas; as she mainly just went through the normal steps of a full body message. I would recommend this business for a relaxing massage, but at this time I would not recommend it for relief of heavy tension if you are a person with similar needs to mine. Background: I'm 5'10, 205lb male and it usually requires strong pressure to relieve tension. My family owns multiple similar businesses to this in Austin and San Antonio. At the Healthy house, Tina will take care of your needs for a massage. I had a pinched nerve in table to get relieved very first visit after five or six visits The problem completely vanished. Tina worked nonstop to make sure the right masseuse was assigned that could apply pressure as needed to help heal my problem. I will be a returning customer long as I have stress or sore muscles. I will say the deal the negative is that they're not conventional, but really doesn't matter if they solve the problem. read more

I love the healthy house. I have been a client for years. I have never had an issue as they are extremely accommodating. Tina, the manager is very sweet and makes sure your massage is good. I always see Jenny now as she knows me well and my neck is often stiff and she is just magical. I also enjoy that they use their feet and walk gently to take out soreness. I travel and I was there about 2 weeks ago with Jenny. I sometimes need an earlier appointment and Tina is quick to get me in when needed. Thank you Tina and Jenny, hope to see you soon. read more

I'm so upset because I do really like this place and I've had really good experiences in the past but I went at 8:30pm the other day to get a full body massage. I am aware that they close at 10 so me and my friend tried to call in to hopefully get in at an earlier time and they let us know that we should go in at a later time due to them being busy. The ladies that were treating my friend and I rushed us into a room then when we were laying in the beds they asked if we wanted medium or hard pressure, we both said medium and they proceeded to do it hard.. and I mean very hard. In the middle of our massage they both started arguing about something really loud and it was not relaxing at all. I then woke up this morning with the bruises all over my legs from the pressure the lady put on me. I was not please with this experience. read more

Didn't really know what to expect from this place since I had never been to one of these before. My back was in so much pain I was willing to give it a shot. Came in and was taken right to my own private room, place is clean, there's soft music playing, and the massage was started almost immediately (there's no 10 min to get undressed like the usual place) This massage was definitely different than any other massage I have gotten. She used oil not lotion, she used her fingers, palms, forearms and elbows to really work my knots out of my back. This is definitely a deep tissue massage kind of place, so if your looking for the relaxing more traditional type place this is not it. I however needed some tension and pain relief and that's exactly what I got! I will definitely be back :) read more

I've had many massages in my 70 years, this is by far the best one yet. From the hot oil and stones they use to the sheer strength and power they work your muscles with. Was a commercial fisherman for 50 years so I have plenty of pain in my body now but it all went away , at least for a few days . We'll be a regular customer now read more

The first time my husband and I went, it was good until we got home. My husband had sharp pains when he took a deep breath and realized that the lady that give him a massage broke one of his ribs. I called later and attempted to talk to the owner, and she said that she didn't "understand" me. He decided to try again so we made an appointment. We arrived, the owner put us in a room and told us she would be with us very soon. After we undressed and were waiting, she said that it would be 45 minutes because they had walk-ins before us and because we made an appointment, we didn't get our massage. WTH?! We got dressed and my husband vowed that he would never go back, he was livid. Long story, short version, he talked to several people that we know and they all were surprised that it was happening to us. So we decided to go one last time, today! We didn't make an appointment and the owner asked if had an appointment?! What? There were NO customers. She said that it was "very busy" and she didn't have time. read more

Healthy House is Lubbock's HIDDEN TREASURE. The establishment is clean and the employees are courteous. I love that fact that I did not need an appointment for a massage. I would get more massages (probably will now) but I could never get in with anyone at the time that was convenient for me. The one hour massage that I received costed me less that most other massage centers. This is an Asian massage - similar to Swedish, but with oil instead of lotion. I got hot stones and it was amazing. Then at the end, they use hot towels to wipe off the oil and it was so relaxing. I highly recommend this shop for a massage with a scheduled appointment, or walk-in basis. I will go back. I want to try the foot massage with reflexology. My girlfriend and I walked in for a full body 1 hour massage. We didn't ask to be in the same room but it was very nice of them to accommodate and make it a couples massage. This might have been the only good part. The massage it's self was not enjoyable. Neither of us were able to relax and after telling her to be gentle. She was not. Excellent deep tissue massage just when I needed it! Atmosphere, pricing, and location all work well for me.

This place is where you go to get your back and neck muscles back into working order. Some places just give you a relaxing massage to take tensions away from your office job... this place is for the hard working outdoor type folks that overwork their backs by running cattle or any real physical type work. The women get in to work the knots and kinks out of those hurting muscles. The degree of pressure is up to you but they do a fantastic job! As a rancher woman this place is a blessing! They do an incredible job here snd literally the best massages I've had in 10 years. A must for the real thing! read more

It's a hole in the wall place, not super fancy. My husband and I booked a couples massage, it was cleanish (I think the building is a little outdated). Anyways I got the deep tissue massage, it was great! I was sore for about 2 days after, which is expected. Everyone was so nice! I love it here. My favorite part was the hot stones!
