I've been here for a couple visits and have loved my experience each time. Parking is easy and I am always greeted quickly upon entering. Intake is quick and easy, though I usually fill out most of the questionnaires online or through the portal ahead of time. I have seen Dr. Jade Hennings who is absolutely amazing. I just called the office to schedule a new patient appointment for my brother, who had a stroke. The phone only rang about once or twice. I like that it was very easy to get through to the receptionist, not be put on hold, or have to go through an automated machine and press a bunch of buttons just to get to speak to a live person. I cracked my ribs and got in the office the same day I asked for an appointment. The problem was taken care of to the best capability that medicine can provide. Healing is a long slow process and the pain killers plus muscle relaxant did their best. They have followed up asking me how I am doing and saying I may need physical therapy. I feel I was scammed by this doctor's office. They have my personal information and when I asked for it to be deleted from their system, they refused. Per the California Consumer Privacy Act, I have reported them to the state. They also do not have the proper privacy or terms policies on their website, which is required. Although they have this on their website: "We promise to provide excellent customer service." What a joke! The customer service person was rude, condescending, and passive aggressive. I also notice when they respond to customer reviews online that their responses are very patronizing, which is what I experienced. If in the future someone uses my information to commit fraud, I will be getting a lawyer because Healthy Living Primary Care is the only company I have provided this information to. I have saved all correspondence if this ever happens. If you value your privacy, your personal data, and don't like being talked down to like a peon in their world, then I would stay far away from Healthy Living Primary Care. They lie to get all of your information and then do not delete it when asked. I wish I could given them zero stars. read more

Every single website online will tell you that Dr. Joy C. Lieu is accepting new patients. My health care provider states that Joy C Lieu could take me as my primary care provider and I attempted to make my first appointment today. The receptionist was incredibly rude and immediately said the Dr. was not taking new patients, and I should pick someone else and take this up with my health care provider. I just need a damn prescription refill and I'm stressed out about it. If you have no patience or empathy for people you should NOT be the face of a business. This woman needs to do her job and update Dr. Joy C Lieus information to state they are NOT accepting new patients to all the health care providers that have this doctor listed, AND the websites that also state this false information. Because I'm busy too, and I don't like wasting my time just as much as I'm sure that receptionist hates her job. read more

I went in on my first (apparently last) visit to establish care. First off, the staff were nothing but professionals and hold down the front end. Upon seeing Dr. Golepang, and a question whether I was fully vaccinated, I said "no" as I had my first shot and was waiting to have the 2nd shot after my wedding. He asked "when?" And I responded "soon this year". He was so adamant about the date I told him it was in the next two weeks - look . Then out of his mouth, he said (in an irritated voice) "I DON'T CARE ANYMORE DO WHAT YOU WANT!". I asked him to repeat himself, he said "let's move on". When I mentioned "you're a doctor, you're supposed to care. Why would you say that as a professional?" He then said "I don't think we're a match and you're going to have to find someone else." I was only rude because of how he spoke to me. We all deserve to be treated with respect. In his review of me, he mentioned that I was rude. If you're going to write that in your notes, also own your lack of in professionalism in all this. Your youth and immaturity clearly showed. I came in, HOPING I would find someone whom I could relate with. Instead, I walked out very disappointed. As I read the reviews, it seems this isn't your first time treating your patients like their lower than you. I would hope you change this, ESPECIALLY for someone who should make their patients feel comfortable and heard. read more

Anytime I've reached out to him for any medical concern whether it's a prescription refill or adjustment or a referral he responds back to me within a day. My wife broke her ankle over the weekend, after a visit to urgent care with xrays and such, we were told to visit her personal care provider for a referral to orthopedics. This establishment, unfortunately, was her provider. We called them after urgent care, and we were told they couldn't make time for her that day and to come back at 8am the next morning. So we did, moving understandably slow in crutches and a broken ankle we arrived 10 minutes late. We were told by the receptionist that our appointment had been canceled because they have a 10 minute policy. I asked if it's a hard limit because we were exactly 10 minutes late. They said they had to reschedule her for several days later, at which time we were dumbfounded as there was literally one person in the waiting room with 20 empty chairs. If they were busy and the place was packed, I might have understood, but that was not the case. Our next option was to crowd the ER because the provider here had zero empathy for my wife who only needed a referral. read more

As a sick patient needing to see someone I tried to call, tried to email. Finally got a person this morning, to be disconnected. Called back as I'm 25-30 min of hold time in at this point, to be told they're not taking new patients. However my entire family goes to this location and I was a patient years ago. After the email I got said I could come in, that is not the case. To be totally real I'm not feeling great at all and I muttered a curse word in just sheer frustration. And was promptly hung up on. I feel absolutely awfully sick, can't find someone there to even talk to me without being rushed off the phone. Zero compassion, understanding or assistance. Will be pulling my husband, daughter and mother from their care from now on. If the only way to reach a person is to sit on hold for 30 min every time you call, what is the point of even trying? I tried to be okay with my treatment at this facility, however a combination of instances have led me to find a different primary care physician as I did not feel supported by this office. 1. The front desk person that answers the phone is very rude and I do not look forward to calling to make my appointments. 2. I requested an STI screening from a nurse practitioner and was bombarded with a stream of accusatory and judgmental questions regarding my sexual activity. I felt shamed for trying to be on top of my reproductive health. She told me "we don't usually test people this frequently" when I asked for a screening 6 months after my previous one. I do not feel that getting tested twice a year is an outrageous request, and her judgmental tone and questioning definitely deterred me from making an appointment here again. 3. Last year I had a broken ankle and had limited ability to exercise, and they still had the nerve to try to shove their side business of weight loss plans on me. There has always been an overall fatphobic atmosphere at this office, as one doctor told me "I have seen your mom, so I know you all aren't small". When I complained several times of a poorly corrected broken ankle from my childhood, they brushed it off as a weight problem instead of an improper alignment problem. I requested a physical therapist and they gave me a brochure to their weight loss program. Had my left ankle injury been properly addressed, we might have been able to recognize the arthritis and plantar fasciitis in my left ankle from my childhood injury, allowing me to engage in physical exercise without pain. Instead, it was deemed an overweight problem, and was ignored. This misalignment was the potential cause of breaking my right ankle as an adult. Overall, I am disappointed with their priorities and do not feel like they serve every patient's best interests. Maybe if you are skinny and don't have sex, they might treat you like a human being, but I am not satisfied with my care and will never return again. read more

Been a patient here for about three years. Since our first visit, my husband and I have been very pleased with the care we've received. Dr Liu, Dr Golpang (dr J) and NP Chris have always found time to see us, either by Zoom or in person. We've been treated with respect, dignity, and compassion every time and by everyone from the medical staff to docs. Ellen, Heather, Brenda, Christy, Tammy, Jillian, America, Lisa, and the entire Referral and Medical Asst team are ALWAYS prompt and compassionate. I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I just started with the practice and they have been top notch, making sure I get all the care, tests, and referrals I need. They've followed my surgeries and my hospitalizations. This kind of care and professionalism is rare these days. We recommend them highly. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I called to make an appointment for my whole family. I never received a confirmation email or call prior to the appointment, so the day of I called to confirm the appointment. The receptionist confirmed and sent me the paperwork to fill out beforehand. Later that day after rushing myself and my kids there after school, I was told my appointment was three days prior. I was suffering from asthma that is anaphylaxic and asked if there was any way to be seen that day. They told me to go to urgicare, call and reschedule... don't worry we will waive the no show fee. No one ever explained to me that it's an establish care during my appointment scheduling nor visit. The only thing mentioned was that there may not be enough time for a preventative check/wellness check. The list of items you mentioned actually belongs to preventative check/wellness check according to UHC 2023 guideline. Your accusation that "I'm looking for a drive-through medical care" is offensive. Your nurse, Chris spent 20 mins of the 30 mins staring at his computer going through his checklist and my medical record that I provided is definitely not something I am looking for a practitioner. It feels like a drive-through clinic. Your office has the audacity to charge diagnostic service because your provider spent less than a few mins on something he saw and I told him that it doesn't bother me. That's a great example and proof of how your practice charge its patients. My family that spent roughly the same time with the nurse was considered a preventative check/wellness check while mine is considered diagnostic because of the few mins your nurse spent on something that he brought up. Another great example and proof that you admit how your practice charge its patients. If you are so concern and follows the proper procedure then you would not sign and stamp the wellness check form. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Golepang now for a couple of years, and he is a great physician. He takes his time to figure out what the best treatment plan is for any particular issue I'm having, and he will go above and beyond to get me the best specialist available for my issue if needed. I can't say enough nice things about all of the staff especially the front counter staff, everybody that works here is so kind and considerate and very friendly. Dr Jayferson is a good man without a doubt. I have used him for last 3 years for physicals and anything else needed and no bad results however i went to see him the last time For what I almost was positive I had an eye Stye, I go to my appointment and tell him about it, he says he sees nothing even though I could clearly see it!! The very next day sure enough (eye stye) then that results me in making another appointment for the same thing twice!! You would think they would waive their $40 office visit, nope I paid two times for the same office visit $80 cause dr. Jay just missed it so I was held liable for making two appointments and paying twice and then to make matters even worst as I am leaving that second appointment they are billing department made a mistake and are trying to claim that I owe for an old office visit "no show" I went into detail with the receptionist and even got The Doctor involved before I left the office that day and I was informed that they are sorry and they will be waving the fee that they accidentally charged me Several months have passed and now I am starting to get the same bill in the mail. I have given this doctor a lot of grace because there have been several issues over the past. The staff members are semi-rude at most of the locations especially a particular receptionist in Folsom omg! I am very happy that I chose Dr. Liu and her office for my medical care. I lost my insurance coverage when the "Affordable" Care Act came along and wiped out my existing coverage and changed the rules for what I was able to sign up for though my very small, family owned business. I was forced to become a self-pay patient. Dr. Liu's office has been great to work with. They understand the financial challenges faced by the self-pay patient and they work with me to find affordable approaches to chronic conditions. At every step, Dr. Liu or her PA/NP discuss costs with me, as well as giving me the information I need to decide whether I want to pay for a more expensive approach that might be beneficial. I find that she and her staff spend more time with me than I have been accustomed to in the past. They really make sure that we cover everything and that we discuss ways to improve my health. She even sent her staff nutritionist in to consult with me and to make sure I understand what I need to be doing. (Now if only she would send someone home with me to make sure I actually do it!). I am puzzled by the complaints about office communication. I am as grumpy a customer as you are likely to find, and yet I have absolutely zero complaints. It is true that they don't typically answer the phone, but they promptly return calls, which I find better than having to wait on hold. They also have terrific online tools that allow me to schedule appointments or communicate with the office by secure messaging. I find these tools to be vastly superior to having someone consistently answer the phone, just for the sake of answering the phone. That's how it's done in the 21st century! read more
