Will do everything in their power to not do their job. Had an appointment for a pre employment drug screening, arrived before the allowed time frame ended. Filled out the forms and gave my ID. Then sat and waited for 30 minutes until just after that time had passed and only then did they tell me I was "too late" and should've known to arrive at least 3 hours early. Which it said exactly no where on any paperwork I received. Now my scheduled start date has to be pushed back all because of this place. If you value your time don't come here. read more

I usually rave about them just because it's so convenient etc to them versus our Dr. But I was just there 2 days ago and the dr prescribed me something that could have been life threatening to me. If my pharmacist didnt catch it....who knows what might have happened. Dr asked if I had allergies which I do not. I had to go in for a non-DOT drug test today and I just don't look forward to these things bc I just feel like it's awkward at best, and like I'm under suspicion at worst, so I was dreading going in today. Got there, only one other person in the lobby, which was very clean, by the way. Filled out some paperwork, gave the new girl working at the front desk my ID, went and sat down. Two minutes later, the only other person in the lobby gets called back, so I'm the only one left, in the lobby so I'm thinking that I'm next. Wrong. Just then, the lobby fills up with ppl: a dad and his son, a gal and her daughter, and a newborn baby with her mom, so after about 15 minutes, I went outside and had a smoke, and when I went back inside, it had been about 25 -30 minutes total since I arrived, so I asked the gal at the desk how much longer bc I'm gonna urinate all over myself, and she frowned and said that she's so sorry but it's gonna be at least another 30 minutes, bc the pee collector just went on lunch. I politely asked for my license back, and said I'd just come back tomorrow. One of the other ladies working there was within earshot, and told me that if I give her 5 minutes, she would be able to take care of me, but that she had to finish up with a patient. I couldn't believe my good fortune! Not only would I not soil myself, but I'd also get my drug test done. So thankful! Anyway, the gal that helped me was named Ingrid, and I couldn't have been happier with her. She explained everything clearly / concisely, and never once made me feel like I was under suspicion from the gate. Ingrid's customer service was what earned American River Urgent Care's 5 stars. I'm so impressed by the level of care and follow-through at American River Urgent Care! I needed their service on a busy Sunday afternoon and the receptionist, nurse and doctor were efficient, kind and professional. I received better treatment there than at my primary's office. To top it off, the next day the receptionist called to let me know that he sent in a referral to the orthopedic doctor. 3 days later, the receptionist calls again to make sure the orthopedic doctor has called me for my follow-up check-up. I don't normally do this but I just have to say something about my experience. This urgent care is normally great and the normal DR that's usually there is always good, this DR I had was horrible. I went in for a earache and they automatically think COVID. So I said ok to a covid test thinking the DR will check my ear after that I'm having pain in and NO! She comes out says my covid test is negative and asked my pain level and said ok I'll prescribe Tylenol. Didn't bother checking my ear that I went in for . I just didn't understand how my ear ache turned into COVID . Left upset and no solution to my ear ache read more

This place is horrible, and I should of went by my instincts after reading a lot of the bad reviews! I waited in one of the rooms for over 2 HOURS!!! Not sure why I had to wait this long since there was absolutely no one in the waiting room!! The so-called doctor really didn't even look at me just in a hurry to get out the room. I was having horrible pain but wanted to give me otc crap that I made very clear did not help and that is why I am here because I am having severe pain! Do not go here you will sit in a room for hours and will not get the care you deserve!!!! Also the doctor had a mask on with staples keeping it together, that's OSHA Violation!!! I came in with an allergic reaction today. The people in the front desk laughed at my sister and I because I was stressed out and needed immediate assistance because of this allergic reaction. When they brought me back, the doctor gave me a shot of benadryl and a steroid. They left me waiting in the room for a long while before I decided to go and look for someone. The doctor discharged me, regardless of my concerns that I was not getting better. I was hoping that the doctor would have taken me seriously, but all she said was that I was probably just having anxiety about having an allergic reaction. This was false, I had to go to the ER to get a shot of epinephrine. The doctor also did not give me any paper or information regarding my visit. Overall, I did not feel welcome or comfortable at with any of the staff. read more

I had gone to another urgent care the week prior and it took nearly three hours and it felt so dirty. This place is so clean! I was in and out in 45 minutes! PLEASE PLEASE BE WARNED... I came in to see if I had broken my arm. They set me up with a splint and told me I needed to see an orthopedic doctor within 2 weeks where I'd probably need a cast. That was terrible advice since it's just not possible to see an orthopedic doctor in two weeks or anything near 2 weeks. And, as it turns out, I didn't need the splint on for more than 4 days or so. This horrible lack of competence led to a serious problem a lot worse than the small fracture I came in for. Damage, in my opinion, that they caused by their mis-diagnosis that comes from the immobilizing of the shoulder, elbow, and arm, and wrist with a sling and splint. ( A consequence they never warned me about) Finally went to ER 7 weeks later since Doctor appointments were taking way too long to be seen. The ER Physicians assistant told me he would of had me out of the splint after like 4 days. So, this Urgent Care's mis-diagnosis and lack of competence in informing me of this significant hazard has led to likely irreparable harm such as a potentially permanent lack of range of motion and months of painful physical therapy. Please know you only have as little as 5 days of immobilization before problems can begin to develop.. it's critical to get mobile as soon as possible and while the bone needs sufficient time to heal.. you need to keep immobilization down to a bare minimum.. I the longer your immobilized the more severe the effort and pain to eventually regain full range of motion. It was just 7 weeks of immobilization and it seems some of the results may be permanent! I just wish someone told me this.. particularly them, the people responsible for immobilizing my arm and saying I needed treatment that I didn't. I really don't like leaving bad reviews but, I don't want this or something like it to happen to you and I hope this helps them to never do this to anyone else. read more

I have been to three Urgent Care offices in the area and this one by far is ahead of the other two. The place is spotless, staff are friendly and helpful, doctors do listen to the patient and care for them. I came here several times for different reasons and have been satisfied every single time. The most serious condition was a kidney infection that was treated right away, they do suggest injection if necessary, which I rarely see in other places. And the most amazing experience was when I was dealing with terrible sinus headaches after I recovered a Covid 19, and the doctor trated me with very kind words that really healed my painful head. read more

The first time we came here my daughter was having extreme anxiety over her medical situation and the doctor treated her very kind and immediately my child felt like she liked this place so it became our go to, after so many visits it left a bad impression on me. One was from that visit they said I didn't pay the copay which I know I did- since they make you pay at time of service so when I got a bill I immediately called and they said disregard it you paid. Well when my husband came in for my daughter they made him pay it AGAIN. since my daughter liked it and it's close we came back, I think the staff are okay overall. Between the last 2 months I went probably 3 times between myself and kids. Once my kids needed antibiotic eye drops they were seen at 1am1 and by 6:55 pm they would not could not communicate with the pharmacy to get my kids drops, the dr answered the phone after 7 and pretty much yelled/ talked over me before asking me which drops the pharmacy had?! Well i get another bill for the copay AGAIN I've ALREADY PAID! I asked them to look into it and they say okay then 2 weeks later the bill again, I found the paper receipt and my bank transaction! I know I can't be the only patient they do this to! After billing manager made me send her all my copies they said okay it's paid. My advice is make an online appointment if you can and use a card for confirmation! It's not right I had to do all this digging up for their mistake! The staff here is always friendly and professional. I have been to Med 7 in Folsom twice, dear god stay away! What a difference American River is! Whenever I needed a covid test or to get seen sooner than my gp could get me in, they have always been so accommodating, never had a long wait and just a real good experience when not feeling well... or getting that darn thing stuck up your nose - for a covid test. My go to place after experiencing some bad customer care at other urgent care facilities. I am giving these people my highest recommendation possible! They have been, and continue to be, nothing short of amazing. I was bitten by a dog on a Sunday and was more afraid of the emergency room than the dog. I went here to be seen and treated. All staff were very professional and knowledgeable including the receptionist. They did X-rays, the doctor walked me through my injuries and options and treated the wounds. They then consulted with outside X-ray techs to make sure they got my diagnosis right from the X-rays. I was out within an hour with treatment and prescriptions and thought that was it - I was happy then but more was to come... Two days later I needed to see a hand specialist at Sutter because my hand was hurting and had me worried. To see a hand specialist, Sutter requires a formal doctor referral and X-rays. I had to go back to Am River Urgent Care to get a CD with my X-rays. They got me a CD (no charge) and then spent the last two days dealing with Sutter's fax machines to get them the referral Sutter requires. Sutter is currently having a problem with their specific FAX and so the urgent care staff has been working for two days to get Sutter what they need. I called Sutter and they confirmed and apologized. Again, Am River Urgent Care aren't being paid for this service and yet are still working to get me care. Who would ever think that this kind of service is available in this day and age and at an urgent care facility located in a little strip mall on the side of Greenback Rd. I went to the urgent care in fair oaks. Two hour wait times, very non transparent. I went home, booked an appointment at American River urgent care. I took a quick nap, arrived on time. They immediately took payment and were very professional and polite. Within one minute of sitting down I was called back for weight and vitals. Within minutes the doctor was available to see me. The Dr. knew what was wrong right away, fixed me up and out the door I went! Five stars All day... Thanks Guys I appreciate it!!!! read more

Visited ARUC in September to try and speed up a podiatry referral since my Primary was booked months out. Was seen by Andrew Nangalama MD, who had an x-ray taken of my problem foot and then told me I had a bone spur. About two months later I finally saw a podiatrist who told me I do NOT have a bone spur and was confused as to why I was told that. Podatrist said the bone I was told was a bone spur was the sesamoid bone - a bone that's supposed to be there (side note: I ended up having to wait and go see my Primary for the podiatry referral; ARUC tried but never quite got it right). read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! I took my 92 year old mom there for an important lab test - saving me a trip downtown to her regular doctor. The staff is so kind, caring and respectful. Treated my mom with the highest degree of compassion and care and...got her lab work done, prescription written & was out of there in about an hour. My mom was so impressed w/the cleanliness too! Don't hesitate to go for your non-emergency needs - they take medicare so mom's visit and prescription was all covered! While on vacation, both my husband and I needed to see a doctor near Rancho Cordova to treat a fracture and to have medications refilled. After calling multiple places and being told we could not be helped in a timely manner or helped at all*, American River Urgent Care took us on as patients and treated us as their own. (Another provider in the area told us that they could not see my husband for medication refills because he is out of state and not an established patient.)
