Love the care given to my pet and the follow up calls after visits. They saw my pet when my vet of 8+ years said it would be a week before they could get us in. That's another story. My pet was given appropriate medication at Healthy Paws and it healed her rash within a few days. They treated us as if we were coming there for 8+ years. Front desk staff and the vet tech were wonderful. Dr. was defensive and abrupt when I shared my concerns about my dog's health, concerns that were shared by her previous vet (the only reason I left that vet was because we moved). She literally talked over me, more than once, as I shared the details and my hopes for my dog's care. Apparently it's her way or the highway. Sorry, I am the expert when it comes to my pet's experience and symptoms since I've lived with her 24/7 for more than a decade. This sort of encounter happened twice with the same vet, both during my initial visit and the followup visit. I won't be returning. Cannot say enough good things about the staff here. We live in Boston and drive our dog Oliver out there for all his veterinary needs. The staff are kind and knowledgeable. When Oliver needed substantial dental work I trusted them and they were great. Other vets wanted to charge a price per tooth pulled which they explained makes no sense since some can be pulled out with very little effort. I cannot recommend this place enough. Fantastic. Dr. Russell absolutely amazing. They are always accommodating, even if it is not an emergency situation, we can get in very quickly. My Golden Retriever had some allergy issues when she was a puppy, and we worked to find solutions. They dispense all of the medication there, which can be good (convenient), but a little more pricey than if you order it on line. Their computer system keeps accurate and thorough records, and those records are easily faxed to doggie day care, etc. I would HIGHLY recommend them! read more

I had to bring a rescue pet in for a follow-up visit today and was very impressed with this place. Everyone knew who the kitten was, was interested in how she was doing, and was excited about her recovery. They obviously made the right diagnosis and prescribed the correct treatment because she's definitely done well. The building itself is clean, bright, and well-laid out. The instructions on the web page tell you to program your GPS for 1 Fruit Street, which is extremely helpful if you don't know the area. There is ample parking close to the building. My husband and I have decided not to have a permanent pet for a while because of our work/travel schedules, but if we did, I would definitely go to Healthy Paws. They seem to really care and seem equally competent. read more

Wow, what can I say about this clinic that does it all and really pays attention to both the needs of your pet and the circumstances that the family is in. My seven year old westie Maisie has been ill for several years with vomiting and projectile bowel movements off and on. We used to live in Boston and her first vet wasn't sure what to treat her with. So, we went to Angell. After nearly $3,000 worth of tests, there was still no diagnosis. We tried to maintain Maisie's GI tract the best we could with prescription food that left her susceptible to yeast (which led to skin infections every few months) and she still would still starve herself every few weeks and end up sick again. It was a vicious cycle and the dog was suffering from it. We moved to the Westborough area and in steps Healthy Paws and Dr. Pomeroy. Dr. Pomeroy looked over Maisie's history with a fine toothed comb and was always available to take my calls when Maisie wound up sick again. Knowing that I didn't want to put the dog through (or pay for)the same barrage of tests she went through at Angell, I asked Dr. Pomeroy if we could treat her as if she has Copper Storage disease. She went ahead and researched foods and put Maisie on a low copper food to see if that would help while we waited to decide if we wanted to put Maisie through testing again. It's been over two weeks since Maisie has been on the new prescription food. She's like a new dog. She's more playful, her mouth isn't stained brown, and her teeth are cleaner. She hasn't gotten sick once. She asks for affection, too. I feel relieved and everyone in our family comments on how good she looks and acts. In addition, Jessica groomed her for the first time a few weeks ago and this is the best cut she's ever gotten! This is a great place and they do it all with a friendly smile and caring demeanor. We're so happy to have this place right down the road for all of Maisie's medical and grooming needs! read more

We are new to the area and were refered to Healthy Paws from a neighbor. I took my two dogs to see Dr. Leavy to begin their prevention regimines for the East Coast. She was so nice and thorough with the dogs. She got down on the floor to be at their level and spend time getting to know them. She spent time discussing all of the product options and recommending the appropriate ones for our dogs. I felt very comfortable with her and her doggy bedside manner. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They got me an appointment the same day I called. They helped me get my two big dogs in the clinic as they are a handful. The tech was prompt in getting us checked in, weighed, temps, etc. Dr. Leavy was quick to see us. The front office ladies were very nice and understanding when I had to leave to get my kids off the bus and come back for the meds without even paying for the visit. Very trusting if you ask me! Dr. Russell and Dr. Cronin provide amazing vet care and unmatched customer service. I am shocked that the other review for Healthy Paws was negative. I have been with Healthy Paws for a couple of years now but have been there enough for a dog's entire life. My 10 year old golden had Lyme disease and now has cancer, and throughout it all, both Dr. Russell and Dr. Cronin have been caring, attentive, and very understanding. I am always able to get a quick appointment (sometimes the next day), I am able to be in contact with the doctors via email, and when I had to take my dog to the ER, I got both a phone call and email the next day asking how he was doing. The Rescue Group I work for uses Healthy Paws as their primary veterinary clinic, so I've been there a few times just to help facilitate getting their dog's checked out. I would not bring your dog here. We just moved to a town close by, and decided to give them a call and see if they have ever worked with Great Danes, which is what our dog is. They were confident in saying they had "many" Dane clients. I scheduled a yearly exam for my dog. Upon arrival the staff that greeted us imitatively backed away from him. Not sure if it was because of his size, but all he was doing was wagging his tail. WE then got into the exam room, the nurse and doctor seemed absolutely petrified of a dog that big, again he was sitting down wagging his tail. I was completely turned off by this place to have such awful staff that was scared of a dog just based on his size. My dog has never bit anyone, shown any kind of aggression or anything in that sort. They then took him in the back, asked myself to come with them? What vet does that... then suggested I muzzle him with a leather muzzle. That made him instantly cry and try to get it off. This place is TERRIBLE and they do not know how to be kind to big dogs. AVOID this place at all cots!!!!! read more

Truly can't say enough good things about Healthy Paws. Charine Tabbah is an exceptional vet technician and person! She is so sweet to my dog, who I rescued in August, just after moving to Westborough. She'll get right on the floor at his level and cuddle him and make him feel comfortable. She's always honest with me and of course taking your dog to the vet is never cheap, but I know my money is being well spent because he's getting treated amazingly there. Healthy Paws has always provided excellent care to my cats, but specifically two of my cats with cancer. Since I began taking my cats to Healthy Paws, I have moved farther away. I now drive 20 minutes to take my cats there even though there are several other veterinary hospitals very near to me. I started going to Healthy Paws because I had a free initial consultation after I adopted a dog from Baypath in Hopkinton. Healthy Paws is a hike, about 30 mins from my house in Worcester. It's been 2 years and I wouldn't think of changing vets. The basics: it's new, clean, fresh smelling, with plenty of parking. It's easy to get an appointment and you rarely wait more than 5-10 mins when you arrive. They know my dog, call her by name, and they remember issues that arose in the past. They truly care about your pet and are willing to take as much time as is needed to answer questions. Both Dr. Russell and Dr. Cronin are wonderful, as is Melissa, one of the techs. Both doctors respond to questions when you email them! I can't get my doctor to do that. Twice when my dog has gone to Tufts for an emergency, someone has called from HPVC to check on her and see how she's recovering even though they didn't treat her. It's not the bargain basement vet, and it's certainly not the closest, but I would not even think of changing. I highly recommend Healthy Paws. read more
