770 The studio(s)…read more There seems to be nothing wrong with studio A. Meant for live recording and bands. Studio B- Studio B is a small closet recording area with the rest used for sitting space and an office. Which the owner will come and use during your session (which is not in the contract/ wasn't at the time) making it nearly impossible to record. The owner will also leave the door open allowing outside noise to travel in, thus complicating a limited 3 hour session. The owner will not remove herself if you ask, she would rather become cantankerous and tell you "that's her office she can do as she pleases", which again is not in any kind of contact (at the time). The equipment needs updating because it always crashes or it's just not cleared properly. Studio C- Is a complete joke. There are no plug ins, the computer always crashes, Brian (who is supposed to run/ co-own this studio) has more pride in the fact that all of his Apple decides are connected rather than his engineering system. I can't tell you how many times my session was interrupted by is incoming calls, that of course, he was not there to answer. Should anything go wrong with the system you will be blamed for not asking for help sooner or an untrained (in said studio) engineer for not knowing what to do. The engineers If you find yourself here please GO TO JUSTIN OR TROY. Anyone else is a waist of time, they hardly listen and want to have creative liberties without getting the artist comfortable. This studio runs through engineers like water... but it makes sense once you're there. The owner. She seems to be a very quiet woman, but do-not hold her feet to the fire, boy. She does not follow her own contacts and the outlines there in. She will become enraged, uncooperative, uncomfortable, and down right unprofessional, if you speak up against something wrong. With the way she speaks to people when shes in the wrong and cannot justify it, is in itself unjustifiable. Over all, this studio, unless this is a hobby, will drain money from you instead of enhancing what you are trying to do. Overall if I could give 0 stars I would and just leave this review.

In other words, this once beautiful instrument had lost much of its luster! As the result of a referral from a respected friend, I contacted Piano Artisans and spoke with Amber. We also traded e-mails with me sending her photos of our piano and she explaining the options and process for restoring the finish. She was able to schedule an appointment to have the work done in our home within about a week from initial contact. The piano technician Jon showed up precisely on time and went to work polishing every inch of the piano case for a good 5 hours! At the end of the day, I almost couldn't believe my eyes. The result was nothing short of miraculous! Our piano looked like the day it was purchased over 30 years ago. No exageration. Jon was the penultimate craftsman, taking his time and making sure it was as perfect as it could be. And he was polite, courteous and professional. In other words, Piano Artisans far exceeded my already very high expectations. I would trust them with any and all piano related work that needs to be done. Heading into this move, I was worried about taking apart our bed frames and putting them back together. Mission Movers took care of it at no extra cost. But the biggest thing for me is how friendly and HONEST the team was. One of my dining chairs was already cracked before the move and they approached me and apologized for thinking they did it. That small gesture went a long way for me and I know they were going to find a solution even if it was their fault. They also could've charged me for a full 4 hours but charged me to the exact minute they worked at 3.75 hours. (Our other local music school was relocating farther from us, and my daughter really wanted lessons.) Our lessons were.. okay. They didn't always start promptly and they were usually in tiny, hot rooms big enough for one small folding chair (plus instrument and standing student with teacher). We tried it out for a couple months and it was not for us. When canceling, they assured me it would be okay, but of course they continued to charge us the following months. I called, and again no return messages. I called again, spoke to someone and they said James would call me back, but not a word since two weeks ago. I had to dispute the charges with my card, but save yourself the effort I went through and seek lessons elsewhere.

We were introduced to Elliot by a mutual friend, and immediately appreciated his openness, enthusiasm, and ability to identify and help develop an artist's interests and talents. Elliot is incredibly patient and knowledgeable, and an outstanding collaborator. Working with my daughter Julia Krueger, for her debut EP "for(e)go", Elliot struck the perfect balance between giving guidance and critique, and yet allowing Julia to express her true intent as an artist. Elliot encouraged Julia to honestly portray her own artistic vision, while stimulating creative ideas, and ultimately delivering an incredibly high-quality product. Julia walked away from the experience more knowledgeable about music, and more sure of the type of artist that she would like to become. And, she found a terrific partner for her future recording studio sessions, as well. I had an incredible experience recording the audiobook for my debut book CHANCLA at Hear No Evil! I had never worked with a professional studio before and was nervous. But I was so grateful to be paired with the warm and wonderful Erin, my sound engineer, who was amazing and made the process seamless and SO fun. I was made to feel at ease moving through the space and was surrounded by beautiful and inspiring art, which, to me, is a huge plus because my brain loved being immersed in color and creativity. I was also really happy to meet Elliot a couple of times. He was also super present, and when he noticed we were running low on water bottles, he brought them immediately, which I felt spoke to his attentiveness to the comfort levels of his team and people like me who used the studio. I recorded four songs here. I'm not a professional musician and I'd never recorded before, but Elliot was thoroughly professional, good natured and patient throughout the whole process. He was always ready with a suggestion that would improve what I was doing and ready to listen to my ideas. His ear, skill and experience were invaluable. The studio itself was everything I could ask for. We recorded acoustic guitar "live" through a mic'd amp in the performance room, electric guitar and bass DI in the mixing booth and vocals in the vocal booth. At one point, while we were recording my acoustic guitar (and it sounding really good,) Elliot suggested we switch to an acoustic he had in the studio. It made a world of difference with a tone more appropriate for the style I was going for. The selection of instruments and amplifiers Elliot has can supplement or substitute for any that a musician may bring. In the time since I recorded there, Elliot has expanded and upgraded Hear No Evil, so now it's even more of a good thing. On top of all that, it's affordable. read more

After moving to California from the midwest I began looking for a studio to record my songs. After contacting several studios I decided to go with Hear No Evil, in Orange Calif. Elliot Koenig is the owner and engineer of Hear No Evil studio. I discussed my project with Elliot and explained to him that I did not have musicians or a female singer for the track I wanted to record, Elliot suggested a group of musicians including singer, Anna Carmela, for my session. On recording day I arrived to find the entire band set up and ready to begin rehearsal. We played the song over and over until it was to my satisfaction, I really appreciated how I was asked for my input after each run through. We recorded the song several times making further improvements along the way. Elliot's easy going personality and humor made the mixing process fun and relaxing. I realized a dream come true earlier this year by contacting Elliot Koenig (owner of Hear No Evil Studios) and informing him that I would like to record some songs that I have wanted to sing for many years. I sang semi-professionally in the 1980's and 90's and wanted to record myself in the studio. Elliot introduced me to a few professional musicians. We had one rehearsal in August and recorded the songs at Hear No Evil Studios in late September. Elliot and his team, and the musicians, did a GREAT job of capturing exactly what I was looking for on each song. Kudos as well to a young man named Jake - one of Elliot's engineers - for pulling out of me some of the best singing I've ever done. This was my first experience in a recording studio. I came in with an original song (music and lyrics) and my acoustic guitar. I am a quiet player and singer. Elliot had me play the song for him, and then he talked with me about what he heard, including possible musical influences and where he thought my song could potentially be played, e.g., end credits for a Western. I agreed and then we started the recording process. Elliot and his staff were very patient and encouraging from start to finish, and he even played bass and electric guitar on the song, giving it a distant Western sound that fit perfectly with what we had discussed. I recently booked a session at Hear No Evil Studios, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. While the facilities are top-notch and the equipment is state-of-the-art, the attitude and performance of the sound engineer left much to be desired. Throughout my session, it was evident that the sound engineer was not interested in working. They seemed disengaged, inattentive, and lacked the enthusiasm you'd expect from a professional in this field. It's disappointing because the potential for great work is there, but the unwillingness of the staff, particularly the sound engineer, to put in the effort really detracts from the studio's reputation. read more

I'm based in London and had the pleasure last week of having my great mate Ray record drums over a couple of songs of mine at Hear No Evil Studios. My home internet is terrible, making it dificult to me to tune in live, as we'd intended, but Elliot was so patient and was able to send me a quick mix of each take so I could keep up with what was going on and suggest tweaks etc.. Legitimately one of the best studios I've recorded in. Been through many different studios in Anaheim and LA over the last 15 years and this is by far THE BEST studio in either area. I came in recently to record an album and my experience wasn't absolutely fantastic! The location is a little odd but once you get there it's great. The space is roomy, comfortable, and the staff are very respectful and funny if you get to know them. Elliot and his team were amazing to work with. This was my daughter's first time doing anything like this; Elliot was patient and upbeat the whole time (All 15 hours). He also creates a positive environment, never makes you feel rushed, and allows you to work through the process. He even took the time to teach my daughter new guitar chords to add to her songs and on top of all that answer my 200+ questions. read more

Me and my band Dirty Luxe have been recording here for over a year now and I can honestly say we made the best choice here opposed to any other studio. Not only is Elliot an incredible producer and musician, but he can accommodate any style of music, will work around your schedule, and is honest. As a singer/songwriter, I have recorded everywhere from DARP (Dallas Austin) in Atlanta to Universal Recording Studios in LA. Not only did 17th St Recording studios provide a comfortable environment for our students, but the Chandler TG1/Neumann M149 combo didn't hurt either :) Not only was Lewis lightning fast in Pro Tools, but he also contributed immensely to the project, helping to write the bridge and playing guitar/keys/bass on the record. Needless to say, this studio provides much more than just a place to record. You will leave here satisfied. Period.

The audio engineer was very patient with my son and his friends. They were writing down lyrics for the rap AT the recording studio, while the audio engineer was converting his song on spotify into his protools. Great microphone. An the recording quality was great, watching him move around protools sop fast was hypnotizing. The mix sounded great and he was teaching my sons friend how to play different chords on the guitar. He also taught him how to solo. He has a great keyboard with many sounds including a really good sounding rhodes, clavinet, and piano. He shared a lot of wisdom and showed my son where to get protools and how to use it. My son and one of his friends rapped, and he was patient, giving them as many tries as they would like. he also added beat drops, and quickly mixed the song down. He airdropped it to me. My son, his friends, and I were overall completely satisfied with his performance, patience, swiftness, wisdom, and kindness. I highly reccomend this studio, and hope you will give it a try!

Central to LA. 24 hour access is crucial for late night gigs. Jay, the manager, is a chill guy. He'll get on your ass if you disrespect the place like leave garbage in the lobby or break the rules, but he looks out for everyone and has always been reasonable. The spot is great to store your gear, have meetings, rehearse your music, record and produce music during quite hours, and make connections. It gets hot in the summer, but the rooms have AC. Overall this place is a gem. It has allowed me to grow my music, my business and my brand.
