Instead of jumping straight into recommendations or upselling, he immediately tried to fix it on the spot. Once he confirmed it was repairable, he quickly cut the string, replaced the tuner, and got everything back in place. The whole process took less than 10 minutes! I live in Carson, so driving out to Lakewood and getting it fixed the same day was such a relief. This guitar isn't for professional use--it's for my daughter who's just starting to learn--so having it ready right away saved me a lot of time and hassle. He even tuned it by ear in seconds, which was really impressive. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience. In other words, this once beautiful instrument had lost much of its luster! As the result of a referral from a respected friend, I contacted Piano Artisans and spoke with Amber. We also traded e-mails with me sending her photos of our piano and she explaining the options and process for restoring the finish. She was able to schedule an appointment to have the work done in our home within about a week from initial contact. The piano technician Jon showed up precisely on time and went to work polishing every inch of the piano case for a good 5 hours! At the end of the day, I almost couldn't believe my eyes. The result was nothing short of miraculous! Our piano looked like the day it was purchased over 30 years ago. No exageration. Jon was the penultimate craftsman, taking his time and making sure it was as perfect as it could be. And he was polite, courteous and professional. In other words, Piano Artisans far exceeded my already very high expectations. I would trust them with any and all piano related work that needs to be done. Jeremiah's communication heading into the move was excellent and Mike and his team arrived right in the window they said they would. As soon as I gave them the rundown of the place, they wasted ZERO time and got straight to work - all the way until the last item was carried into the new place. Heading into this move, I was worried about taking apart our bed frames and putting them back together. Mission Movers took care of it at no extra cost. But the biggest thing for me is how friendly and HONEST the team was. One of my dining chairs was already cracked before the move and they approached me and apologized for thinking they did it. That small gesture went a long way for me and I know they were going to find a solution even if it was their fault. They also could've charged me for a full 4 hours but charged me to the exact minute they worked at 3.75 hours. Not to mention it was also a really hot day and they powered through it without a single complaint. My wife and I have said several times that we don't know how we would've done it without Mission Movers. I know exactly who I'm hiring for any of my future moves. 10/10 experience! PS: don't forget to tip your movers!!! These guys weren't expecting it and they were so grateful - it only made me wish I had more to give.

This place has all the makings of a shady pawn shop, they very well know how to prey on ignorance when purchasing guitars, no wonder they have a pretty cool selection. They really do have some cool guitars, which is why I added another star, That smug sales associate is obviously compensating for his dismal communication skills.bruh, you sell guitars, your not brokering a peace treaty in the Middle East, As a matter of fact, I am telling you how to do your Job, because that was a piss poor encounter with someone who sells more stuff in a month, then you sell in a year. I went to Guitar Center, they kept it simple, and offered $1300, I respectfully declined, but they were at least straight forward. I won't recommend my buyers, or anyone who sells or consigns to me to this place. Do better. read more

I saw a beautiful 78 Jazz bass and fell in love right on the spot. I had never never shipped anything from the States before and wasn't at all sure how to go about it. The staff at Imperial's and Devin in particular couldn't have been more helpful and arranged everything for me. The pictures and description of the bass were very detailed down to the smallest blemish and in fact it turned out to be even better than I was expecting. The packing was first class and it arrived in just under a week, they even threw in a couple of goodies for good measure. Very very happy with the service and over the moon with the bass!! I don't usually do Yelp reviews but I had to post my great experience here. I took my Martin OM in to get the binding repaired (I didn't even know they did repairs here until I Googled them). Jarrett took a look and offered to do a re-string and a setup on it for a very reasonable price and I said sure. I'm so glad I did because it's like a brand new guitar now! The binding looks incredible with no indication it was coming off previously and action up on the higher frets now is just amazing. It's so effortless to play higher up the neck. I am blown away by his knowledge and expertise. I won't hesitate to come back and have my guitars serviced here in the future. read more

Jarett is the most helpful person that I have ever worked with in any guitar store, and I've been buying gear for about 30 years. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and very fair when pricing items. Recently I purchased a Gibson SG which he arranged to have it shipped from one of the other Imperial Vintage stores. When it arrived, he had me test it, then suggested some adjustments be made which he did overnight. About 6 months ago - I was ecstatic - when Imperial Vintage Guitars had the exact (year, make, model) - that I have been searching for. Store ownership made a personal effort to sort out an amp I received that UPS was a little less than gentle with during shipping. Really generous people. The gentleman I spoke with even made an additional gesture to go above and beyond to donate to a charity we agreed on to make up for the trouble. Class acts with great selection. Also, really have to highlight Tyler, who helped me in my decision and was such a pleasure to work with while dealing with these guys. I visited Imperial Vintage Guitars at 864 N Main St a few months ago, and the experience has really stuck with me. The staff were genuine, knowledgeable, and super helpful without ever being pushy. The selection of vintage instruments was incredible -- every guitar had character and history. I didn't buy anything that day, but I've been thinking about a couple of pieces ever since.
