One of the joys of aging is the increase in the number of checkups one gets to do to remain healthy and relatively active. In addition to the regular dental exam/cleaning, I now have frequent vision checks, general health checks and hearing exams. In all of these but one, I never walk out feeling or working better than when I went in. My teeth are cleaner and grittier leaving the dentist but it doesn't change how my food tastes. My eyes are usually less useful for hours after leaving the eye doc. I still feel just as good when the doctor gives me a clean bill of health. When I finish my hearing exam at Hearing Consultants of Colorado Springs I ALWAYS hear better and feel better than when I went in. Their staff and service are the best in town - competent, professional, timely and friendly. When I leave their lovely offices, my hearing aids have been adjusted to my current conditions and I am always more aware of sounds, voices, music, etc., than I was when I arrived! If I'm lucky, they will continue treating all their customers in this way - and maybe, branch out to checking teeth, eyes, general health and routine auto maintenance! Excellent patient care and customer service. You are given a quick tour and an explanation of their services offered. After their comprehensive testing they take the time to go over your results and explain everything in a clear and concise language that is easy to understand. During my exam I had made made an off the cuff remark about getting dizzy when I tilted my head back which led to a comprehensive balance test. A couple of abnormal results led to a referral to an ENT who reviewed the data and said it was spinal which then led to a referral to a spinal sugeon. A couple of Xrays and MRI's later revealed a compressed spinal cord which led to Cervical Discetomy and Fusion surgery. Left untreated it could have led to paralysis and other severe issues. Thanks to soon to be Doctor of Audiology Stephanie Preacher, who chose to act on my off the cuff remark, I was able to resolve a serious health issue before it got too severe. I highly recommend Hearing Consultants of Colorado Springs for all hearing/balance testing and treatment. They always put their patients best interest first. read more

I was wowed from the moment I stepped in the door a Hearing Consultants on Lehman Dr. The personal personable experience at this office is certainly something to talk about. The patient experience was exemplary. The staff is warm and welcoming. They gave me a tour of the facility and explained all of the various services that they offer. When i was escorted into my exam room there was a gift and a card with my name on it. When was the last time that a physician gave you a gift for coming to see them?! The card was personalized and spoke very genuinely of their desire to help me and guide me on this journey. The gift, well I don't want to spoil it in the event that you go to them. But it was kind and thoughtful. My exam experience was great. The physician, Dr. Miliff, explained everything along the way, and reviewed the results thoroughly. She was kind, compassionate and understanding. She made me feel as though she had all of the time for me that I need to take. Best medical practice I've ever visited. Professional, skilled, knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, patient-focused. Hearing Consultants has become my new audiology group. 1) Dr Gill (no longer there) was personally instrumental in getting me top-quality hearing aids through the VA. 2) Dr Katie Williams did the programming, customizing, and initial setup when they arrived. She's now my go-to practitioner for all-things hearing. I visit Hearing Consultants every six months for hearing exams and hearing aids maintenance. Dr Williams ensures I'm getting maximum performance from my devices, to include sending them back to the manufacturer for repair. She spends quality time with me; never rushes my appointments. 3) Arial provided the training. All three are masterful in what they do. I visited Hearing Consultants of Colorado Springs to have custom ear impressions made for sound-protection earplugs. Scheduling was easy -- I had an appointment two days after calling (though I did need to follow up by phone after filling out the web form). The office was quiet, clean, and modern, and the staff even gave me a quick tour. Dr. Iliss was professional and thorough, answered all my questions, and there was no sales pressure for additional services. The impressions were done using two-part silicone, with proper technique (cotton otoblock, bite block, full-concha depth). I asked to keep the molds for use with a third-party manufacturer, and they had no issue with that. I also ordered filtered earplugs through their partner, Starkey. I'd definitely recommend them for anyone needing high-quality ear impressions or hearing protection -- especially if you're working with third-party vendors for custom gear. read more

Had my first experience with Hearing Consultants and was great in every aspect. Greeted with a genuine smile and a little excitement-I think I could "hear" them all so excited. They did not once tell me the usual hearing quips-,"huh", "say what", can you repeat that"," whatcha say". They took care of my "stealth-mode" insurance id numbers themselves-my company does not like actual cards-they think they are so "hip-modern", but a card is the real-world way to go. The staff was great-asked me if they could get me some drinks, chocolates, bunny slippers with the pillows and blankets. Dr. Williams was awesome-explained everything in real English for this old guy to understand, told me the procedures before the procedure started, and explained any problems she found during my testing. Made an appointment with Hearing Consultants based on a friend's recommendation. I saw (almost-doctor) Stephanie Preacher who ran several hearing tests and determined I was even worse off than my last test. She recommended I take my older hearing aids back to the store and get them adjusted. She didn't promote her agency's hearing aids until I asked about them; i.e., no hard sell. She carefully explained how they tailored their products to the patient's lifestyle. The next morning, I discussed the products with my wife and decided to not waste time with my old hearing aids. I called and went back that same day and purchased new hearing aids. Ms. Preacher carefully explained how to use my new aids. I've had them now for two days; so far, things are louder and much more clear. Hoping things get even better! read more

Hearing Consultants (HC) in the Springs has been looking after our hearing health since we moved here for retirement. Three years and counting, HC devoutly watched and cared for our needs. Importantly, a shout out to Dr. Katie Williams who had guided and convinced me to acquire the latest available option, and exposed my auditory facilities to a realm of "renewed" hearing with clearer high-def/hi-fi quality sounds- in short, hear more clearly with less disturbance. I had been wearing hearing aids for over 30 years when I moved to Colorado Springs. Finding an audiologist was top on my "to do" list! I have been a client of Hearing Consultants now for 8-1/2 years! I will tell you that I have been very well taken care of by the audiologists and staff in this office! They are almost family and patient with all my questions and making sure I understand their answers. I have a Cochlear processor and hearing aid that they keep adjusted to achieve the best possible hearing I can have. This is very important to me! We highly recommend Hearing Consultants. My wife saw Dr Iliff at Hearing Consultants to get her hearing aids adjusted. Dr Iliff was able to do that on a computer program that let my wife test the adjustments right there in the office immediately. We mentioned my mother who is in an assisted living home and unable to get into the office to get hers adjusted. And she was having problems with changing the batteries in the old style aids. Dr Iliff said she would make a "house call" to the care home and get her a new pair of rechargeable hearing aids and do the fitting and adjustments right there in my mother's room. Just another thing that these folks do, they sent a seasons' greeting card to me signed by several of the staff that I contact on occasion. Inside there was a timely offer to clean my hearing aids. I called to thank them for the card and asked when I could bring my aids in for cleaning. They set me up for the same day and they took my hearing aids to clean and inspect. I feel so much better going into the holiday with my hearing aids inspected and cleaned. All this with the most courteous and kind assistance from all the staff. Dr. Michael Iliff has been my audiologist for a number of years and I have always appreciated his genuine interest in helping me hear the best I can. Now I am being evaluated for a Cochlear implant. Today, he patiently and thoroughly advised me on the process and made recommendations consistent with my best interests. He also very generously absorbed the cost of new speaker wires even though my aids were beyond the warranty period. Dr. Longoria, as usual, was totally professional and took care of all problems I was having with my hearing aid. Her staff was professional and courteous. The new office is wonderful and so easy to get into opposed to the old one, which at times. was a little scary.
