    NexGen told me that sometimes they had to redo molds for their custom ear plugs…read more After 90 days of waiting for 3 mold remakes, NexGen was never able to make a pair that did not hurt my ears. Every morning I wake up with at least one sore ear, but the reason I didn't accept their offer to return my money is that I need these ear plugs to block out the sound of my noisy next door condo neighbours. It's either pain or sleep deprivation. So I wear them, but wake up in pain every morning. It is now obvious to me that the reason my ear plugs are painful is: - the material used for the ear plugs is silicone which is quite hard - the edges of the ear plugs are not smoothly rounded in some places, and these sharp edges dig into my ear while I'm sleeping on my side I honestly think I could do a better job than NexGen. When I can stomach another attempt at getting custom ear plugs, there are other custom ear plug manufacturers in the Lower Mainland, and at least one uses material different to what NexGen's ear plug manufacturer uses. Another negative I experienced at NexGen is that each time I had to return the ear plugs for a remake, I was given an appointment with a different technician or audiologist. Four in all. Four. It was extremely annoying because I had to re-explain the situation each time and redevelop a sense of trust with each one. One claimed that I had been to her before, which I had not, as if making me out to be a "problem" customer. And one of their receptionists was rude towards me from my first visit. I really felt disrespected by NexGen. Although I deserve a refund, I need these ear plugs to counteract my noisy neighbours even though they cause me significant pain. It's a bad situation.

Mandy at NexGen Hearing (W Van)) and her associates were friendly, sensitive, & efficient. I felt comfortable at all times, & found out that my hearing loss was hereditary. Hearing aids have come a long way!! I have them in both ears, & it was overwhelming to experience clear hearing! Life is too short to suffer needlessly. No need to strain, be embarrassed, have things repeated, or pretend I heard!! It's a new world!
