She really doesn't know what she is doing. The way I would describe her method is "spray and pray" She placed ALOT of needles everywhere on my back & legs hoping it would work and it doesn't. Sometimes she forgot about me or went to lunch during my treatment or forgot to set the timer and I was just laying in pain till I had enough and called out to her multiple times with the bell but she was nowhere to be found till I had to get up and open the door and call for her with all the needles still in place. I ONLY went to her because she was the only one in-network for me through fed workers comp at the time. Went to her at least 7 times and never felt any better. Plus it was an hour's drive round trip, wasted my gas and time. At the time out of curiosity, I asked how much her treatment was if no insurance she told me $110 which is SUPER expensive compared to other places I've been to and actually does help. She believes in essential oils & burning sage more than actual herbal Chinese medicine, which is where acupuncture originated from. read more

To start with Ahnna Goossen is great. I was suffering from a lot of sciatic pain and my T-Bands on the side of my legs. I walked in pain and could hardly sleep at night from the pain. Taking Advil and Alive could not even relieve my pain. After about 5 or 6 treatments(once a week) I had no pain and that was in mid March of 2019. I sleep good and now able to work in my yard and take walks. Also at one of my visits I went into her office for a treatment feeling really stressed. I had a big argument with my neighbor the day before. When I was I was leaving I told Ahnna I felt so great that I wasn't even mad at my neighbor any more. I wasn't kidding either. I never thought I would be trying acupuncture. Ok, I said it, it's true. I was a skeptic. When nothing else had helped for my lower back pain and other health symptoms I decided to give it a try, can't hurt right? I had my first appointment with Ahnna this past Saturday. The office is absolutely beautiful. I was more relaxed as soon as I stepped inside. I filled out my paperwork and Ahnna had me lay down and relax in one of the treatment rooms before beginning. She spent a thorough amount of time listen to why I was there, what problems I was having, what I feel was causing those problems and just a vent in general about my life. She was very responsive, making notes and asking more questions. When it was time for treatment I didn't even know the pins (not sure what the technical term is) were going in. I did feel one, but as soon as I felt it, my entire lower back relaxed, and that NEVER happens. I fell asleep on and off while I was having the treatment. I felt better when I left, not great, but better. The next day I work up and felt like a weight had been lifted off of my back. No more lower back pain? Could it be? I was amazed. And as a side note my sinuses started draining, I've had a nagging cold for over a month. I was so surprised and impressed by my treatment I am going back again this weekend. I have been suffering from severe chronic pain for over 4 years due to fibromyalgia, Addison's disease , hypothyroid, rheumatoid arthritis, 3 shoulder surgeries in the past year and the backlash of several car accidents. I also have relentless migraines that completely take me out of commission for several days. I never took acupuncture under consideration, thinking that it was absolutely impossible to relieve pain from the simple placement of pins. I was so very wrong. I have the greatest respect for those who practice acupuncture. I have only see Ahnna for treatment about 4 times so far but I could not possibly imagine any other being as knowledgeable , understanding and gentle as her. With my condition I'm use to being poked and prodded several times a week. So when I considered acupuncture, I though to myself, what's another 50 pokes going to matter. Until you suffer from chronic pain so severe that when you go to bed at night you think to yourself that it would be so much easier to just not wake up in the morning, you have no idea what it's like to exist like this. And I use exist opposed to live because this is not living. This is getting by , one day at a time, begging for any piece of relief. Ahnna has given me a reason to hope again. She's amazing. Caring and thoughtful. She listens to every detail you tell her and explains to you why you are the way you are in words that you are able to comprehend, unlike most drs who throw their medical terminology out at you without an explanation of what it means. She is gentle, and that can be difficult when sticking pins in your skin. I'm not going to lie, a few times the pin did hurt slightly. But only for a split second. And it was always at one of my trigger points. So it was more of a release than a pain. I drag myself in there on every appt day, but I walk out, almost bouncing because she makes almost all my pain disappear. I don't know the complete science behind it but there's no one else, including my team of 11 drs I've seen in the past 5 years that has been able to relieve my pain as she has. If you are a skeptic, I completely understand. I was one too. But think about it, you have absolutely nothing to lose and EVERYTHING TO GAIN! Ahnna is an amazing woman who has been blessed with the the ability to heal. She has surpassed every pain management dr I have ever seen. And there's no one else in the world I would go to to help me with my pain. She has restored my life again. Ahnna is amazing! After seeing her, I told my husband I would have her be my primary care physician if I could. I only went to her a handful of times because it was too far for me at the time, but I have never slept better in my life!
