This is a lovely, small shop with a cozy corner around a fireplace and a big table that looks like it's the perfect place to sit with friends and create beautiful things with a piece of string. There is a nice selection of gorgeous yarns, including some local Iowa sources, although I didn't look too closely (too much yarn in my stash already!). She also carries other knitting/crochet supplies that I look forward to poking around more to see. Of course I ended up buying stuff for a new project, but the best part was chatting with the friendly folks there. I'll definitely be back!

Most yarn stores I go to don't have cotton yarns which are great for Amigurumi (something I'm really into right now). They even had a cool Amigurumi book that I've had my eye on for a while. They also had some Amigurumi animals that they had made up using the cotton yarns, which is really a smart idea because they showed off the yarns really well. I chatted with a person who I think was the owner and she was really friendly and helpful. We talked about Amigurumi and crocheting, which I found very refreshing because most of the yarn stores I've been to cater mostly to knitters. I really like that they had books and tools for knitters and crocheters. I do both but I'm more comfortable with crocheting. I bought a hank of cotton yarn and the woman I was chatting with wound it into a ball for me. I really love that! They also teach knitting and crocheting classes. I can't wait to take one of their classes. I just can't say enough good things about this place. It feels like a relaxed and fun environment. I wish there was a store like this in Des Moines.

I stopped by on a snowy afternoon trying to match some Tula Pink fabric. While I didn't find an exact match, I was quickly shown a coordinating fabric that added the zing I didn't know I needed. While not the hugest collection of fabric in the area, what the store had will meet the needs of everyone and perhaps helps in the overwhelming feel that I have in stores with a HUGE collection. It's clear that they've taken their time to keep the store looking modern and up-to-date. It's a very bright store with nice lighting and clear, but stuffed, aisles. A large portion of the store is dedicated to the custom framing and frame department, but there's a lot of other things to be seen here as well. They have a pretty small fake floral department, but most other crafts/creativity pursuits have at least one aisle dedicated to them including crochet, knitting, wood painting, beading, kid's crafts, cake decorating, and more. Every inch of available space is put to use holding items in this store, but it definitely isn't the largest hobby store I've ever seen. There was a bit of wait to check-out, but the cashiers were getting people checked out relatively quickly. They added another cashier when they saw the line was getting long. While shopping the store, I was asked by a couple employees if I needed help. Cashiers and employees seem friendly and interested in helping. I didn't look at their class listings, but they do have a separate and sealed-off room that contains tables and chairs for the craft classes that they hold. My only complaint is the bathrooms. When I went the bathrooms weren't particularly clean. It's nothing horrible, but it's obvious that the management hasn't kept up on keeping the bathrooms looking nice. The tiles were faded and the bathroom stall latches were getting rusty. A bit more care and remodeling in the bathroom would make it look as beautiful as the rest of the store seems to look. Keep an eye out on online coupons and whatnot too. I had a coupon to save 40% off any regularly-priced item that I used from my smartphone. A lot of their items are on "sales" at any given time, though, so you may find it hard to find a regularly-priced item. (That seems to be the pricing format for a lot of craft stores including Jo-Anns and Hobby Lobby) Final thoughts: I would definitely come back. It's like a giant wonderland of craft supplies. It's nice and organized, the employees are friendly, and most of the store seems very modern and nice-looking.

Was not looking for anything extremely fancy as the picture was going to be hung in my basement however it mattered that it was done well. Unfortunately I was overly trusting with the service team sharing my inexperience and somehow ended paying for a frame almost double a general price. At the time I had no idea of the frame pricing and shame on me for not probing more. I acknowledge I did agree to the service and paid freely however let me say after sharing my experience and my cost with the ones who recommended Michaels I immediately had buyers remorse. Of course already frustrated a bit I anxiously awaited my picture to be ready as promised hoping the beauty would heal me however I was sadly disappointed to further encounter poor experience. Upon attempting to pick up my picture I was told there was another delay and he wouldn't be able to get to it for at least 1-2 more days. There was no expression of concern nor inquiry of my urgency for the picture. I too had a need to have it for an event planned. He only communicated how busy he was and he would do it when time allowed . I did take the moment to express my disappointing experience thus far and instead of providing space for my perspective he chose to "mansplain" the definition of customize and minimize my voice. I cleaned up on top quality wrapping paper after Christmas which is year round paper really. Since Christmas isn't my jam I always try to get neutral paper for wrapping. I have used a lot of it and people have commented on how much they like the paper... I wish it was more about the present inside. lol But I buy a lot of my frames there too. They always have some sort of sale so you don't have to pay full price too... You won't be disappointed... they too have a drive up option if you order oine!

I was looking for some art supplies for myself, and for a birthday present for my granddaughter. Many shelves were poorly stocked - every color but white paint in one section. I had several items in my cart, and I could not find any illustration boards. I went up & down the art section multiple times. I found bristol boards, foamcore boards, and poster boards, but no illustration boards and no one to ask either. I went to the cashiers up front, and asked one if their is anyone on the floor to help. I was expecting her to pick up the phone, and call for someone, but she just laughed and said, "I doubt it!" my wife, who also had several items, and I left the cart blocking the exit door as we left. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
