My primary care physician recommended me to have a cardiac evaluation. She'd noticed something on…read moremy EKG that was concerning but not alarming enough for me to have an emergent same day visit. When I walked in the door the one front desk assistant was helping another patient. I mean she was thorough with the instructions information, and very detailed. I was waiting to sign in this took maybe about 10 minutes or so. The other female was at the checkout counter and she eventually was able to come up to the front and assist her coworker. Now there was two or three more patients looking to sign in at this point. I walked up to give the smiling faced woman my name. She then checked me in, gave me a few forms to sign and I went and sat down. I was so glad that this office didn't require me to pay before services were rendered. I've noticed that's a lot of facilities even hospitals out here in Texas that want your copays and deductibles before treating you. That's kinda distasteful cause if the doctor has an unforeseen emergency then now you have to reschedule your appointment and request your funds back. Cause they'll prefer to hold on to it and apply it as a credit. Nevertheless I didn't have that problem at Kami Banks' office. I waited in the lobby or office waiting room for about 10 more minutes then I was called to come back in the back room. Everyone was friendly, speaking to each other, and actually enjoying what they were doing. It was great to see. Especially as a new patient going to visit a Cardiologist. I mean I've worked for them, never have I been a patient lol. After the nurse took down all my pertinent information Doctor Kami Banks arrived a few minutes after. We conversed she has a gentle voice and pleasant demeanor. Her bedside manner was very calm. I didn't have a lot of anxiety and she made me feel comfortable. I think I know What was wrong with my EKG from my PCP's visit. After my appointment I found out I tested positive again for The Covid!!! This may've caused my arrhythmia or irregular heartbeats. I had to cancel my Holter monitor and Echo test until I'm feeling better. Overall my appointment was great and once I'm feeling % I'll remake my appointments just so I can definitively say my heart's beating regularly. Thanks for a wonderful first appointment.

My experience at this office today was unacceptable. My appointment was at 1:00 PM. When I first…read morearrived, the door was locked. I noticed a plaque stating the doors may be locked from 12:30 to 1:00, so I waited until 1:00 before returning. When it was still locked at 1:00, the time of my appointment, I knocked to alert staff that I was there. The staff member who opened the door was visibly irritated, pointed to the plaque, and asked if I "had a question" instead of welcoming me or simply saying hello. Her tone and attitude were rude and unprofessional from the start. Once I was inside, another staff member came around the corner and, instead of showing professionalism or trying to diffuse the situation, made a sarcastic comment about the plaque and their lunch hours as she walked away, clearly meant to be rude. If the office is closed until 1:00, then maybe appointments should not be scheduled at that time. It is customary for patients to arrive a few minutes early to check in. Had the first staff member simply opened the door, greeted me, and said "let's get you checked in," the entire situation could have been avoided. Instead, she acted as though I had inconvenienced her by knocking. The echocardiogram technician was not rude, but she was indifferent and impersonal. She seemed rushed and less thorough than other technicians I have experienced. What truly concerned me was that after telling me I would need to undress and put on a gown, she did not leave the room. When she realized I wasn't changing, she asked if I wanted her to leave, but in a way that made it seem unnecessary or inconvenient for her to do so. That should never even be a question. Patient privacy should always be assumed and respected. In my 50 years, I have never had a nurse, doctor, or technician ask that in any medical setting. They always leave the room to provide privacy. It was unprofessional and inappropriate. The room itself also appeared unclean, with a trash can overflowing with used gowns, dirt on the floor, and dirty chairs, which made the environment feel unsanitary. It's a shame when poor staff behavior reflects so poorly on a practice. There are too many options out there to tolerate this level of unprofessionalism.

I have been trying to simply make an appointment and confirm what tests will be done…read more Unfortunately my first visit consisted of waiting almost 2 hours to find out I could not do the required EKG due to some treatment side effects. This time I have been reaching out via their website and telephone for about 10 days and all I can get is odd responses from Rayna. She has advised me that if I don't bring test results, that the doctor has access to, to my appointment then I will have to wait while they access them. I do not understand why they would not pull the actual results and add them to my file. Maybe that is why my last visit was so long? I also cannot get a clear answer on what tests this visit will consist of as Rayna again says none but if they missed the EKG then obviously they will want to do that. Trying to confirm what else and after speaking to her twice it is very clear she does not listen or notate what calls consists of with patients. I have asked that a nurse or someone engaged in patient care calls me back. Fingers crossed after 10 + days someone trained in care returns my call as I liked the doctor but it's like pulling teeth to get info and I am already late for a follow up that never called me to schedule!
