Okay lets try this again. I originally did a review for heather and no idea what happened to it. So Heather originally did my maternity pictures. AWESOME job. I mean i was 8 months prego.. 50 lbs more than a prego suppose to weigh... my pictures turned out HOT. I think she got the magic touch! At first i was kind of uncomfortable taking photos of my big belly. Heather was so easy going... she eased any uncomfortable feelings i had. This was my first pregnancy. So naturally I want the pictures to be magical. They were perfect! I am so happy with them. Fast forward... 9 months after my maternity session. I now have a beautiful baby girl with a mean frown. Our first holidays together. So around halloween, i dressed her up as a little lady bug. We called heather again and heather made my girl smile and now i have memories of my little lady bug on her first halloween. Heather is amazing, she's great. Super easy to work with and creative! I wish there was a way to give 0 stars because after the unprofessionalism, stress, and havoc she caused us she deserves absolutely nothing. I have not only told all of my friends and family in Roseville to NEVER under ANY circumstance use her, but also in the surrounding areas to ensure that her business will be affected by it. We booked Heather to photograph our wedding 7 months out. About 20 days before my wedding we had called Heather to go over wedding details and firm up our plans, she did not answer her phone. 18 DAYS before my wedding Heather informed me VIA EMAIL (beyond unprofessional) that she decided she could not hack it and would not be photographing our wedding. Apparently she was to much of a coward to answer the phone and tell her clients that!!! We were then left with NO wedding photographer 18 days prior to our wedding, and it was a destination wedding none the less!! 18 days before a wedding you can imagine that a BRIDE has OTHER things to take care of rather than trying to find A NEW wedding photographer!!! Especially in the middle of wedding season! Heather said she would return our money UM YEAH YOU BETTER!!! You broke a contract and are not worth our money! It took several days to get it from her, I emailed her asking where it was she said that she had not had a chance to go to the post office to send it certified mail - UM HELLO YOU JUST BROKE A CONTRACT AND CAUSED AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF PROBLEMS - you better MAKE IT YOUR PRIORITY to get to a post office. We finally got the check 5 days later - you can imagine that we needed this money to go towards a new photographer! In the end it turned out better for us, we found a much more talented photographer who was not afraid to talk to her clients and our pictures turned out great. DO you selves a favor and hire a REAL photographer NOT HEATHER she is just an amateur with a camera that has NO professionalism !! read more

Heather is amazing, and we were lucky to get to work with her! I started my photographer search by googling "Flower Farm Inn Wedding Photographer" and checking out their blogs because I wanted someone who had photographed at my venue and someone who's images fit with the photography styles that I like. Heather had shot at our venue twice and her blog had some truly gorgeous pictures on it, so we scheduled an appointment. We had to switch our original mid-week appointment to the weekend at the last minute, and she even met with us after running part of the CIM. What a trooper! We had a great meeting where we discussed her packages and her add-ons, including some fun perks if you contract with her within 48 hours of the first meeting -- which is exactly what we did! About a month later, we had our engagement session at Folsom Lake. We didn't have too many props for the photos, but we did bring our crazy 75 lb. dog, whom Heather photographed really well. You would never know that she was bounding around like a maniac! =) We also played around with some flash photography after sunset that resulted in some of my favorite images from the day. From the get-go, I told Heather that she was the "most important vendor of the day" -- no pressure, right? But she took that to heart, making sure we had several conversations about how to structure the day so that we could allow for all of the right photography moments. When she arrived promptly at 2:30 on the day of the wedding, she hit the ground running and didn't stop for over 8 hours! Along with the groom, I probably spent the most time with her on the day of our wedding, which means it's a really good thing that we get along great! She covered the day so thoroughly (allowing for the 40+ formal portrait configurations I wanted -- sheesh!), and even worked with us to do some sparkler light painting after dark -- SUPER FUN! Heather is extremely talented and a joy to work with! read more

LOVE! Heather did a boudoir shoot for me as a gift to my husband. She was beyond professional and nice. She was calm and nonjudgmental during the shoot and made me feel relaxed when doing something way out of my comfort zone! She constructively told me how to pose to make me look my best. She was filled with great ideas on how to really utilize our time and my home to create some very remarkable photos. When I finally got to see it I saw that she created a beautiful album filled with outstanding intimate pictures. She is a professional down to the smallest detail. She kept me in the loop during production of the album. When I went to her house to pick up my album she had it gift wrapped and even offered to wrap it again for my husband! You can tell this is really her passion and that she really wants to be the best! I was fortunate enough to have Healther Prettyman agree to shoot our recent wedding reception. I will spare you the details BUT I didn't think that we would be able to afford her. I spent countless hours searching for the perfect wedding photographer - I was looking for someone with true talent whose prices would fit my budget. I'm not sure that words can accurately describe my love for Heather Prettyman, but I will try my best... I saw the pictures that Heather took of my close friend, and fellow Yelp-er, during her pregnancy. The pictures were creative, she has an incredible eye for making colors look more vibrant and beautiful all based upon the angle of her shots, and I saw how easily she was able to capture the love between this couple. I booked her, quickly, after this recommendation, to do a family session with me and my fiancee, and our pup! (At this point, I already had someone contracted to shoot our wedding) BUT- after meeting her, and working with her on our family session... I KNEW I had to have her for our wedding. See- my fiancee (although very dashing, charming, and social) isn't really "in to" the whole photo shoot thing. He does NOT feel comfortable taking pictures, let alone pictures taken by a complete stranger! The amazing thing about Heather is that you instantly become friends with her. My fiancee could not stop talking about how great she is, after our photo shoot. We felt completely comfortable with her. She talked us through various poses, was able to get our crazy pup to show off his adorable side, and she even took some great detail shots of the garden we were romping around in. I was BEYOND happy with the pictures... so much so that I got out of the contract with my other photographer, immediately, and booked Heather for our engagement shoot AND wedding! Our engagement shoot in Napa was one of the funnest experiences... traipsing around in the vineyards, lying in the grass, sitting on a brick wall... all the while, Heather asking us if we were comfortable doing this or that! Outstanding customer service sets Heather Prettyman Photography apart from the competition. I was in need of a 1 hour photo session. I'm a comparative shopper so I contacted most major photographers in the area. Most other photographers failed to reply to my phone/email inquiries despite repeated attempts. Among the photographers who did respond, I received many generic template responses that didn't give me the information requested. I found Heather to be a straight shooter. Heather promptly answered my questions and provided me information via customized packages tailored to my needs. The customized packages were economical for me and the pricing was more reasonable than all other photographers I contacted (and they were many). Heather also answered follow-up questions promptly. A week before the photo session, Heather and I discussed my needs to great length to make sure we were on the same page. The 1 hour photo session went great. The time with Heather was like hanging out with an old friend -- friendly, polite, helpful, professional. (Bonus for guys: Heather's really cute and super nice too!) The photographs I received were immaculate, amazingly sharp, crystal clear. Heather made sure they were of the highest quality and the images reveal superb attention to detail. I get many compliments from people who view my pictures. If you want a large photo studio, want to pay exorbitant prices, and want to be treated like a number, go elsewhere. On the other hand, if you want someone with a personal approach, at a fair price, and who will take the time to get things right, go with Heather. Heather shot our wedding and reception, and we just couldn't have been happier with her services. We really wanted someone who could capture "in the moment" photos without things feeling too staged. She has a fantastic eye for both light and photo ops that read really well in the final photos. I met Heather a few years ago when we worked together at a wedding. I am a local event planner and Heather of course was the photographer. The moment we met, we clicked. I watched her work, her style, ideas, creativity, and dedication to her job through out the day. I told her before she left that when I got married, she would be my photographer.
