My husband and I were expecting our first child and were so excited to do a maternity shoot. We had specific ideas and details in mind and Heather was able to capture them perfectly. The communication between us was great! She showed up to our two locations beforehand and was prepared for our shoot with some cool ideas of her own. Heather was punctual, professional and just really awesome to work with. We live by the beach and wanted to take some photos in the water. She was right there with us and her poor legs were probably numb from the super cold water, but she went above and beyond to get the perfect photos. The images she sent us were absolutely beautiful. My husband and I had a hard time choosing our favorites because we loved so many of them. Heather is incredibly talented and did an awesome job capturing the pure happiness we felt. This is a late review but it is a well deserved one! I had the privilege of working with Heather by accident. It all started several years ago, when we were looking for a last minute photographer. I stumbled on Heather and I was very fortunate that I did. I found Heather through social, and amongst all the photographer searching, it was the way she captured such spirit in her photos that had me hooked. Heather was recommended by a colleague to photograph our firm's Holiday Party. We hired her to take event footage as well as photo booth pictures. She was extremely professional and attentive to all our requests. With everyone running around trying to make the night perfect, it was comforting to know that Heather had captured the event beautifully through photos of the guests and the event design - the photos turned out spectacular and will be a constant reminder of the fun night! Heather East is the BEST wedding photographer EVER!!! She is based out of Redlands, CA but shot my wedding on the Big Island of Hawaii as well as my grooms gift (boudoir shoot). I do not have any experience modeling and was a little nervous about doing a boudoir shoot but I thought it would be way better than a watch or other common commodity people get for a wedding gift. My hubby is a surfer and I wanted beach/water shots as well as water shots. She not only arranged everything from hair an make-up, shoot location, and outfits but she made me feel so comfortable. She was very professional yet gave great instructions for poses and was goofy enough to make me feel comfortable. It was a great experience. Now onto the wedding. Heather came to our meeting well prepared with photo examples and a variety of packages. She was incredibly thorough from going through my pinterest list of photo inspiration to the venue walk through to assisting my planner in making sure the timeline would also give us the best possible photos to the day of shoot. I am recently married and Heather was fantastic during the whole wedding process! When I was searching for a photographer for my wedding day on Yelp, I found Heather had great reviews. When we first met, she was professional, fun and listened to everything I had to say. She had great package options that had everything in them that I wanted, even a videographer, who also did a wonderful job. We did an engagement shoot with Heather, which was so great. She let me send her tons of photos ahead of time, and worked with me on re-creating some of the same posses I liked. She lets you pick 3 spots to take pictures, and was with us the entire day. The pictures turned out beautiful. Before my wedding she came to do a site walk through of my venue, so we could talk about where we wanted our photos taken. On the wedding day, she helped run the show so I didn't have to stress about anything. She told people where to go and what to do in the group photos. She also helped me re-create some posses that I liked on this day and was very accommodating. Heather was with me the entire day, capturing every photo moment that she needed, from me getting my hair and makeup done, to putting on my dress, to the grand exit, and everything in between. She brought a wedding assistant with her who also did a great job and was very helpful. The photo booth we had set up turned out so beautiful and fun.
