I love how Malia directed us with specific and clear positions that we felt comfortable and natural posing in. I never seen a photographer incorporate movement into each photo to frame a moment of genuine love like Malia did. We wanted photos to celebrate our wedding anniversary that would tell a story of the years we spent together in Monterey, and we found the right person to capture that. Each frame incorporated an aspect of Monterey and the wharf so charmingly in the background that we can look back on to remind us of our time there. I can tell that Malia did research into the area to determine the best lighting and locations for the area. Though I've never reviewed a photography studio, I'd like to give this studio and couple a shout out. I came here one evening for a boudoir photo session, and was expecting to find a bed. Something that I'm used to seeing during boudoir sessions. However, no bed was to be found. I was confused but also very curious as to why this was. I went to change into my first outfit and shyly walked out. I sat on a chair and the rest was history. Before the shoot: Laura spoke with me and told me what to expect. She laid out the plans to have a cabaret style shoot and to bring my best lingerie. She did have a few things in the studio, she said, but as a plus size model, I purchased a few things to make sure I would be comfortable and fit. When walking in the studio, I met with Mark, her husband and the editor of the photos. He was very kind and offered a lot of support for his wife. It was nice to see a great couple working together doing what they love. During the shoot: Laura was very helpful. She offered poses that would not only make me feel sexy, but also direction that would make my body look fantastic in the photos. Unfortunately, one do the poses that I loved doing didn't make the final cut - if only I looked great in that one. It was one of my favorite things. She had me balancing with one leg extended on a chair, "cabaret" style. She even put a laptop in front of me to see a small part of the movie to get me in the spirit. She offered music that was both comforting and fun, and the atmosphere was just.. beautiful. We worked very well and I felt my best working with her. It was wonderful. After the shoot: Laura and I agreed to a video chat where she shared my best images and I chose the ones that I wanted to edit. It was an easy process and it took only a few minutes. I was stunned to see how gorgeous they turned out. She offered a great variety to choose from and I was happy with my choices. The end result was a great experience and beautiful memorable photos. My husband was pleased and he loved the entire experience watching on the sides line and seeing the results. The only thing that I would recommend is a fan. It was quite hot under the lights, but aside from that - it was awesome! Thank you Laura for this experience and photography and Mark for your great editing skills!

She did a great job of identifying alternative options to capture photos with our guests, and then finding an opportune moment later on during the event when my husband and I could slip outside and take some photos when it was dry. Our wedding planner gave Julie's information to us along with a couple of other photographers when we were trying to secure a vendor. I loved Julie's style, so we set up a phone consultation to see if it would be a good match for us. We knew right away that Julie would be perfect for us as we clicked right away in our phone conversation. We set up an engagement session with Julie prior to our wedding and that solidified our decision in knowing we had picked the perfect photographer. Julie is funny, down to earth, and extremely talented. She was easy to be around and nothing ever felt too poised. The photos that we got in our final gallery are absolutely beautiful and we have a hard time picking our favorites because we love them all! Julie also went above and beyond normal photographer duties at one point helping to steam my dress and also offered us a free session at a later date when both of my parents could not attend our wedding last minute due to testing positive with COVID. I'm sure there was also much more behind the scenes that I didn't even see.
