Scott Campbell and his team are a must! My Mom and I had a first meeting with Scott 8 months before my wedding date and I knew within minutes of meeting him that I wanted to use his services. Scott was so kind, easy-going, and FUN to work with. He has a way about him that puts you at ease which I really appreciated. Not only is Scott a superbly talented photographer, he made me and my now husband feel very comfortable when photographing us (neither of us are great in front of a camera). Scott shot an engagement session for us, shot our entire wedding day (at Mission Ranch in Carmel, CA), and also designed two wedding albums for us. I was extremely happy with the outcome of all three of these hugely important things! Scott is extremely talented and has an eye for capturing moments that may otherwise be missed. Aside from the photos from our wedding day turning out gorgeous (the most important thing!) the things I really loved about using Scott's services were: -his office staff are amazing. I was a very type A bride with MANY questions and MANY requests during the wedding planning process. Aimee always promptly and patiently answered my questions and the entire team did everything they could to honor my requests. With all the stress of planning a wedding, these qualities are invaluable. -Albert, Scott's assistant, was always so pleasant, took many exquisite photos himself, and put together beautiful albums for us. He also does the retouching /editing on the photos and did a fantastic job. -Scott was very accommodating in willing to tweak the packages he offered so it was tailored to what I wanted; he didn't charge me for things I didn't want. -On the day of your wedding you want to know you have a photographer who knows you (this is why we decided to have an engagement shoot with Scott), who you trust to honor any preferences you have, and who will ensure you don't have to think about how the photos are turning out AT ALL...you'll already have SO MUCH going through your head. Although Scott's prices are indeed on the higher side, I'm a firm believer of "you get what you pay for" and with Scott you will be sure to have photos of your wedding day that are beautiful, classic, creative, unique, and extremely high quality. Scott and the entire team are great. We had to reschedule my daughter's wedding twice due to the pandemic and they were very accommodating each time. Scott was very easy to work with and took many wonderful shots of the happy couple. On the big day, he and his assistant were flexible and easy going, which fit our wedding perfectly. Being a amateur photographer and hobbyist, I was amazed at how few photos he seemed to take throughout the day. He always knew what he wanted out of each shot and carefully executed to minimize time for the formal shots, so we could spend more time with our guests. They do not answer e mails, or calls. When I got an appointment Scott the photographer he was not ready for me, telling me that his assistant didn't notify him about our appointment. They are not prepare for you having example of sizes for prints. Prints took a long time time to arrive. I do recognize the pics quality is good. read more

Choosing Scott Campbell to photograph my wedding was the BEST decision I made in planning my October 2009 wedding. From the time I first went to Scott's studio, he and his team have been incredibly accommodating, friendly, and easy to work with. Scott was completely open and wanted to hear exactly what I wanted for my wedding--unlike some photographers who tell you how THEY like to do things. Scott put me at ease and made me feel comfortable when I was in front of the camera, but to be honest, most of the time I did not even realize that he was there! He captured a lot of candid moments between my groom and I, the wedding party, and our guests that are some of our favorite photos. He also had some great ideas for different photos (such as the entire wedding party jumping in the air) as well as locations for taking photos. He is very talented and creative, and as a result, we have incredible wedding photos. While the photography was not inexpensive, like most everything else you get what you pay for. Scott Campbell did our engagement photo shoot, and it was one of the most amazing moments in our lives! Not only is he fantastic to work with, he knew just how to put us at ease. We were laughing with each other and enjoying the incredible scenery; there just happened to be a photographer along with us. Did I mention that he was able to find a time for our photo shoot on just three days notice? And he made a special effort to have the photos ready for review the very next day! My fiancé was leaving town for the foreseeable future on Sunday, so we did the shoot on Thursday and picked out our pictures on Friday. The whole team at Scott Campbell Photography was so warm and friendly, and so helpful! Scott offered some great suggestions for locations to shoot, and was quite happy to go with us to Point Lobos, a place that means a lot to my fiancé and me. While there, the light was absolutely perfect and Scott knew just how to take advantage of the sunset. The images we got are truly magical. He's got the heart of an artist, and he truly knows his craft. He also takes the time to get to know his clients and asked what kind of photos we wanted from the shoot. During the initial meeting, he wanted to know what sort of shots our family wanted, too, since that's always an important consideration with engagement shoots. His photographs take advantage of depth of field, the play of the light and the movement of his subjects. His use of the environment is fantastic! It had just rained the day before our shoot and there were these beautiful puddles that he used to get shots with fantastic reflections. These are not stoic, rigid portraits. My husband and I used Scott Campbell and his team for our wedding last year, and we absolutely loved working with him! Scott is SUCH a wonderful guy. When we first started planning our wedding, our wedding coordinator told us that we should find a photographer whose work we loved, and to also look for someone with whom we liked spending time (since the photographer is with you throughout your entire wedding day). We found both with Scott - he's incredibly talented and he's really fun to be around! We weren't naturals at posing in front of the camera, but Scott is great at giving direction, and he kept us looking natural/not awkward. In addition to being a talented photographer, Scott was very thorough in how he helped us plan out our wedding photos (which was amazing - kept the stress off of me). He asked very specific questions about how we wanted to schedule our day, who our most important family members/friends were, what the most important shots were to us, etc. Scott also encourages clients to do an engagement session so that you can familiarize yourself with his style of shooting - we found this very helpful. We just received our final wedding album a few weeks ago, and it is absolutely beautiful. It's truly an heirloom piece that we will cherish forever and share with friends and family for years to come. It's bound in a leather cover, and the photography truly captures our most favorite memories of our wedding day. Scott's team worked with us very closely on making sure our album was perfect, which we really appreciated. We had the best experience with Scott, and if we did it all over again, we'd use him again! The photographer took a big chunk of our wedding budget, but we wanted to make the investment to ensure that we have photography that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. I was so happy I chose Scott Campbell Photography. Scott is an amazing photographer but also knows how to run a studio. He goes way beyond prints and will walk you through so many different options (mini-books, gallery wraps, framing and displaying). I am the worse kind of customer because I am picky and slow to choose but he made the process so easy (as did his excellent office staff). He shot both my young boys (no easy task- especially the 2 year old) and when I look at the pictures I can see their personalities so clearly. His unique style really helps you remember the moment. Scott Campbell was our photographer for our wedding in June 2012. In planning our wedding, we knew that our top priority was our photographer. At our consultation, Scott presented not only fabulous work, but explained the packages, options, and contract in depth. He didn't pressure us to commit immediately, (though we did because we were so excited!), and has been accessible to us from the time we signed until even now, two months after our wedding. Albert took both our engagement (Monterey and Carmel) and wedding (The Clement) photos. This was our splurge for the wedding, and it was worth it! The pictures are absolutely stunning. He captured our personalities and the overall atmosphere of the reception (it was a bit of a party). On the day of the wedding, Albert was extremely open to ideas that we threw at him (even if it involved taking over a Starbucks store for a bit) and didn't mind being part of the action when learning he was part of the "I Spy" disposable camera game. In regards to the entire company, the service was great, patient, and prompt (both of us live elsewhere so most communication was done over email). Scott himself graciously helped during our ceremony to capture amazing "from above shots". And, the pictures were available when promised. Scott photographed our daughter's wedding at the Carmel Mission, and the following wedding reception. He is a fun, friendly, genuinely warm person, and his presence at both gatherings was a treasure for all of us. He has a wonderful ability to anticipate the best shot, the next memorable scene, and he balances perfectly the roles of guiding the participants to the "right spot" and "right shot" while allowing the bride and groom and wedding party to enjoy the day and all the wedding/reception events, and not feel as if they are on a movie set created by an overly ambitious producer. While Scott Campbell's photography appears to be beautiful, I just have to put a warning out there....I hired Scott Campbell to be the photographer at my daughter's wedding in October, 2012 in Carmel Valley. I paid a deposit of $2300.00 last November, 2011. Unfortunately, after much reflection and soul searching, my daughter decided to call off her engagement in March, 2012, seven months before her wedding date. I immediately contacted Scott Campbell, only to be told by his assistant (he wouldn't even speak to me) that they would not refund my deposit under any circumstances. I then asked if they would be willing to give me a credit for future photography work, such as a family photo session. Again, I was told no. No refund, no credit, nothing. I feel this is VERY BAD BUSINESS and just want any prospective customers out there to know my story. read more

Based on the recommended list of vendors our venue provided, we met with Scott at his studio. Right away we found him to be a warm and knowledgeable man, who truly takes pride in his work and it is evident by his work on his website. Scott sat with us and discussed how he likes to work, the types of photographs he likes to take and how he can add to your special event. Upon going over pricing, he worked with us to customize our package and even discounted certain prices to help us accommodate our budget. At first we weren't sure we were going to do an engagement shoot, but when we did Scott (and his assistant Albert-- we adore him too) helped us both to loosen up and enjoy the experience. The shoot gave us the most beautiful wedding guest book, and all of our guests loved it. On the day of our wedding, Scott came to my suite and took various shots of my mom, bridesmaids, myself and my dress. He worked quickly but also taking care to capture any candid shots that took place while we got ready and he made all of my ladies feel comfortable. Then he went onto my then fiance's room and took shots with his best man, groomsmen, my father and himself. He even captured the moment my love read the letter I had Scott deliver to him. That is a shot I will treasure forever. Within days after our wedding, Scott had uploaded a slideshow to showcase a sample of the shots he'd taken that day. Everyone who's seen it has nothing but good things to say about it, and I myself have cried each time I view it. Scott also uploaded all of the photos he'd taken that day to our wedding gallery for us to look over and select from. They are all so beautiful it's hard to choose. But the end result is certain, our wedding day was captured to perfection by a remarkably talented man and a talented team. Thank you all so much!! read more
