After 4 days in Banff (hiking, canoeing and completely wearing ourselves out), and a night of camping in Jasper (in the rain), we decided to pack up the tent and splurge on a King cabin. Holy crap- what a perfect reprieve in the middle of our trip. As I type this, I sit in an Adirondack chair on our private porch in the supplied bathrobe & slippers with my husband, sipping on a cocktail and taking in the tremendous views. They only have 2 cabins, so if you can't score one, don't fret- they have an outdoor porch off the main lodge with Adirondack chairs for everyone to kick back and enjoy. I can't comment on the hot tub because we definitely won't be making our way far from this porch tonight. Oh, there's also a wood stove for heat in the room and fresh cut firewood at the cabin. I'm so glad we made the decision to book here tonight before the next 5 days of exploring western Canada. One more thing- the shampoo, conditioner & body wash smell AMAZING! read more

This biggest thing this place has going for it is the scenery, and the proximity to Glacier National Park - There's a motel at Rogers Pass, but I believe it's closed for renovations (Sept 2010). The towns of Revelstoke and Golden are about an hour in either direction, so this makes for a good base if you're not camping. It is nice to look outside the window and see a huge mountain. You're away from a town, so it's quiet. The service was excellent in both check-in and in the restaurant. Dinner was okay; nothing special. The room itself was pretty nice. Found this place on yelp, an I will add to their good rating. It is an out of the way place in a pass area, and while it is clearly marked, you might think you are making a mistake when turning off the highway on to a dirt road. That is about the worst I can say about this place. Now for the good. It is quiet and the views are magnificent. Beds and towels were soft and felt great. I think out of our trip of about 10 days, this was the best night of sleep I got. The staff is very nice and we really enjoyed talking to them. The restaurant was also great as it was one of the best dinners we had during our trip, and breakfast was also excellent. For dinner we had pork back ribs with a pickled pineapple sauce and a half chicken with a house sauce. Both were delicious. So if you like a quiet out of the way place with good food, I definitely recommend this place. read more

Poor Customer Service from front desk to head of accounting department. Booked a night at Heather Mountain Lodge on Hotel tonight and their actual address was 3 hours away from their published address. When I sent screenshots they said, "HotelTonight is a new booking partner with us and we are sorting out how we can rectify this type of situation." Heather Mountain Lodge and Hotel Tonight never refunded my money, and I never got to stay there. I worked with them since Aug 25th to try to get my money back and nothing. To date, they said they do not have a record of me, but they have my full payment for my stay. read more

This place is a unique find in an unlikely place. The rooms are tasteful and have a certain simple elegance. The food at the dining room is the best we have eaten any where. The meals were absolutely delicious. Close to Canada's Glacier NP, and not far from Yoho and Banff, this is definitely a place to stop and remember. read more
