Here's why you should believe me even though I of course think she's THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHER EVER because she is my friend as well as these reasons: 1) I am a music website & print magazine Editor, so I work with some of the best photographers in the world. I know good work. 2) I was a professional model a long time ago, so I've been "shot" by some of the best photographers in the world and am very picky about my personal pictures. 3) Darleen took some promo pics of me last year of which I received more compliments on than any other photographs ever taken of me. I will admit I was a little apprehensive at first since this place was located in a baby store and me and my brother were older, but the lady (Val) that took our photos was extremely nice and professional. We were able to select from an assortment of really nice prints. On their website, they have a bundle package deal where you can choose an extra photo and get it printed in several sizes for an extra $18.

‼‼CAUTION IF YOU BOOK WITH HER‼‼‼ This was, by far, the…read moreworst experience I've had with a photographer. And even worse making it my first newborns photoshoot. I booked a newborn photoshoot through her Facebook advertisement for a "discounted" rate of over $300. At no point before or during the session was I informed of a contract. Come to find out that the package only included 10 edited images. I only learned about this six minutes before I was asked to select my images from the full gallery. The contract was never provided before the session or before payment. I requested the contract twice once I found out about and still never got it until right before my photos were delivered. When I asked the first time, my message was completely ignored. Then I followed back up weeks later, this time I was told it would be sent the following week when she went back to work, but it never was. I had no problem promptly paying my invoice as soon as she sent it months before the photoshoot, also still doesn't mention a contract. When I asked her to send me where the context was sent, she wouldn't. After I questioned the limited gallery, she repeatedly claimed she had already sent the contract multiple times. However, electronic contracts include timestamps showing when they are sent, delivered, and opened. If the contract had actually been sent before the session, those records would exist. Instead of acknowledging the issue, she continued to insist it had been sent and became argumentative when I expressed my concerns. She expects you to ask or research her website for important limitations that she won't disclose on until after your photoshoot, and asking reasonable questions was met with rudeness instead of professionalism. I booked directly through her Facebook advertisement. Neither the advertisement nor the invoice disclosed these limitations or directed me to review additional terms on her website before booking. Customers should not be expected to search a website for important details that should have been clearly communicated from the beginning. The problem isn't the package itself--it's the lack of communication, transparency, and treating customers with no respect. I cannot recommend someone who withholds important information until after services are completed and then responds unprofessionally when customers ask legitimate questions.
