She made recommendations for color highlights and I felt comfortable in her guidance. I'll admit I internally freaked a bit before the wash-out since my wet hair didn't look like it had when others had done a balayage, but OMG after the wash it was like my hair was a beautiful natural summer blonde with varying shades. What she was able to achieve was beyond my expectations. I came in with dark blonde uncared for COVID hair that had been worn up for too long and left with bright, dimensional coloring, and a beautiful cut with face framing layers while still managing to keep length. I spent 4 hours with Heather and got exactly what I've been looking for and NEVER GOT...for 10 years!! I did the same thing expecting something different, I know insanity but THAT IS WHAT I DID BUT FINALLY I GOT WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!! She got me in very quickly and then took her time explaining EXACTLY what she would do, I needed a total redo of my entire head it was very damage from previous wrong applications!! I finally did some research and learned about balayage which gives a more precise placement of specific color, it was scary to have to trust that the pictures I sent her would turn out half as good as I wanted but I took the plunge and was not disappointed!!! I have been searching for a new hair stylists for some time. My prior stylists have been wonderful people to work with, but I would leave feeling a little unsure about the cut or color, and I don't want to criticize anyone who tries their best. That said, I needed to find someone who was creative, consultative, genuinely interested in helping me figure out what would work best for cut and color. As a result of insomnia, I found Heather on Yelp late one evening, after a pretty extensive search. The greater Portland area offers so many stylists, which makes the search even more challenging. From the moment I reached out to Heather--she responded within minutes. After we exchanged a couple communications, and I explained my situation, I felt she went out of her way to help me. She asked for photos of my current cut first, and other cuts I liked, and as obvious as that should be, I've never had a stylist ask. I'm a sales trainer so I was very impressed.
