I was seriously impressed at how the stylist knew just how to trim and shape my hair to it's best advantage. It really looked nice. I haven't felt that way leaving a salon in a very long time. But it's now under new management and the new owner is a butcher, a liar, and the place is filthy. She absolutely destroyed my hair. I walked in for a simple cut and she sat me in the chair and started chopping it off while it was dry. I asked her three times to stop and she wouldn't, telling me that she was just doing what I asked. There were actually holes in the back of my head and the sides were completely uneven and she "thinned it" which made it stick to my head. My daughter went back with me and tried to get my money back, but she said she didn't know how to operate the machine and I'd have to deal with my credit card company. There was no place for her to wash my hair because the sinks were filled with materials like old perm boxes, and I saw a mouse. Seriously, do not go you will regret it

It had been some time since I received a massage, so I was looking forward to this visit! There is a parking garage conveniently located next to the spa, so that was great. The staff at the entrance promptly greeted me and asked if it was my first time. The process of checking in and getting around was simplified by them taking the time to walk me where I needed to go rather than just telling me, which was appreciated. I was walked to the area where I changed into a robe and was subsequently accompanied to the massage area. Unfortunately for me, there were a lot of stairs, something that my knee and foot surgeries did not appreciate. It was a little awkward to sit in a small, public waiting area wearing a robe but it's a minor sacrifice. I had a massage with Audrey, who was very nice and professional. I appreciated that she took the time to ask me about my concern areas and my goals for the massage. The massage itself was good, though I unfairly compare massages to my former therapist who was exceptional. Audrey was very communicative and, even for someone who finds it difficult to relax, it was a good experience. Overall, The Sugar House Day Spa is worth a visit - it's also worth purchasing a gift card for someone. They will appreciate it! (NOTE: you can use the funds from the gift card to supplement a tip)

Good business, but consistency is variable.

Her mother used to come to work with some awesome hairstyles that I thought were her hair. it took her about 3 hours to complete. The tracks are glued to two stocking caps. The 2nd cap is so that the glue does not stick to your hair but she can also put a plastic cap underneath which will do the same thing. I used the old texture of the Bohyme Brazilian wave hair ( i ordered if off of ebay) which she straightened. I used black and brown hair and she alternated the tracks. She charged me $140. the only thing that I did not like was the back. I wanted it bobbed not tapered but I wasn't paying attention!

A few days ago, I had an experience that obviously damaged my hair and she rushed me out with a promise to "trim it up" in a few days. When I contacted her to make an arrangement to go back and have her look at the damage and (somehow) fix it, she told me I was being disrespectful and that the damage was a result of my hair's texture. She then stated that our hair relationship should end and I was refunded $200. I paid $280 for the cut and color, by the way. I've lived in this area since 2008 and I'm always supportive of small businesses. It's sad that this type of situation occurred and that I'm now in a position to make others aware of such a negative experience. I left a review via Google Reviews and it was removed one day later. Hopefully, this one will stick around.

There's a difference between enforcing policy and treating a client dismissively. At this price point, I expect professionalism, communication, and basic respect. Sadly, this visit left me feeling unwelcome and undervalued as a returning client. I hope management takes feedback like this seriously, because client experience matters just as much as the technical service.

Paying 50% more than I was expecting, with no memory of agreeing, makes me feel like I have to be on guard next time I go. It was not a good way to end an otherwise lovely visit. I won't return.

The waiting area is clean and neat and features a coffee machine and a refrigerator with a selection of refreshing drinks. Honestly I've never waited long because appointments run on time. Next is the hair wash station where I'm always soaped up with lovely scented shampoo that suits my hair type. And there's the heavenly head massage. I could sit there all day! I have short hair and Kevin is an expert at this kind of cut. Love the way he flips the scissors as he works. I've also seen some great color work and he's got many customers with long beautiful haircuts as well. Payment at the front desk is super easy. All the stylists and shampoo artists take cash or Venmo for tips. I highly recommend Aquilano salon.

Abby is incredible. I am 46. I'm I have always struggled to get over the fact that my hair has never been thick and long and that's OK. I find myself to be just great however I think at this point of life, you can have whatever you want and I was introduced to Heather Squires who is amazing and kind good person. She wasn't able to schedule my hair and she offered her assistant Abby I was reluctant because I had been introduced to Heather through a very close colleague, however Abby was amazing. She gave me extensions and made me feel good about myself and my hair and I could not be more satisfied or happier. I have the hair I've always wanted and as much as I felt odd and weird about having it as long as I did, it was exactly what I'd always dreamed of and I would recommend her so highly if you want the hair you dreamed of please get Abby at Heather Squires. As a bonus, I spend less time on my hair than I ever have. Abby knows exactly what to do to give you an amazing style throughout the entire week. Could not recommend her more!! read more

Heather has the vision and expertise to get you where you want to be. I'll never go to anyone else! Heather not only understands technique (in fact, I know she's an instructor as well), she's also an artist who sees and considers the needs of each of her clients differently. In my case, it meant suggesting the appropriate shade/tone (subtle and natural) for my graying hair along with the right cut to match. And the results continue to be amazing! And I couldn't write a review about Heather without also talking about the experience she provides. It's all positive from beginning to end. She's a pro who makes you feel comfortable and takes as much time as is needed--even for a guy like me. I always feel like she won't stop until every last detail is checked and rechecked. The term "miracle worker" doesn't do Heather justice. I went to her in tears after another stylist completely destroyed my hair two weeks before my wedding (he had stripped my hair of any dimension, was overly bright blonde, patchy, and downright just awful). I was so self-conscious and stressed but Heather immediately put me at ease. She promised I'd look beautiful for my wedding and found a way to fit me into her busy schedule. And wow, did she deliver! She added a shadow root and lowlights, and completely brought my hair back to life with gorgeous dimension. I feel so confident and excited for my wedding day, all thanks to her. I would literally follow Heather to the ends of the earth to keep her as my stylist because she is just THAT amazing at what she does! For years now she has consistently exceeded my expectations with each cut and color - to the point where I get asked all the time who does my hair "because it's gorgeous" - and they're 100% right! She takes the time to really understand exactly what you want - highlights lowlights , perhaps an all over color, a new cut or style, or any of the newest trends in hair and she KILLS IT every time. If I tell you that Heather is special, I don't think that covers it. She is an amazing human and stylist. I am 62 years old, and have searched a good portion of my life for a colorist/stylist whose work I LOVED. I first went to Heather one year ago, when I moved to Maine. I have never had people ask me who did my color/cut/style, until Heather started doing my hair. She is so talented, I am trying to figure out how to get to VA so she can keep me looking good! Truly the best experience I have ever had at a hair salon. From the consultation to the layered hair cut to the coloring and then styling, Heather made the process so seamless and fun! Absolutely loved my experience with Abby & Heather! From the moment I walked in, they were both so welcoming and kind. I literally booked a last minute appointment at 3 AM for first thing in the morning, and Abby still did everything possible to make it happen and get my hair DONE. Hooray, Michelle has her own salon now!…read more I found Michelle in 2016 (when she was at Salon Bisoux) when I wanted to do a yearly Yuko straightening for my long, wavy in some places and crazy curly in one part of my hair. I can't blow it out (I actually had a round brush stuck in my hair once) and while I LOVE my flat iron, the damage that it does is not pretty. The Yuko makes my hair so smooth and soft it's like I had a hair transplant. Really, I walk in with crazy hair and walk out with the opposite. Instead of fearing rain and humidity, I have hair that looks like I just left the salon all of the time! I moved back to Boston in 2020, but knew that I would continue to have Michelle do my straightening because someone who doesn't know what they are doing will screw up your hair (trust me, that is what happened the 2nd time I had it done in Boston years ago). When you go for touch-ups, the product only goes on your new growth; Michelle goes bit-by-bit to make sure she isn't touching any bit of hair that has been previously straightened. Online booking is easy and you have no excuse for not making an appointment when you can book it at 3am if you are awake. Michelle's new salon has everything you need (cold and hot drinks, all kinds of snacks and candy AND chargers for Android and iPhones), so get in there ASAP!

I walked out of Salon deZen for literally hundreds less than that, with a fast and fabulous cut from Mariah customized to my needs (after a very helpful consultation), along with a demi-permanent teal gloss on my previously highlighted hair, AND a truly gorgeous laminated brow and Korean lash lift from Caroline. Mariah gave me a hair style that requires minimal maintenance, but has tons of movement and versatility and a color that made me smile so hard it hurt. Caroline somehow made my DISTANTLY related eyebrows look like sisters instead of estranged second cousins. She also gave me a bottle of oil with a spoolie for lash and brow aftercare that made such a difference in the hair texture after processing. I'm always a little nervous when changing hairdressers, but Juli is absolutely fantastic -- I couldn't be happier with the result. Her little booth is decorated with great taste, the products she uses smell amazing, and you're truly in for a treat. She makes you feel completely at home. Another great surprise was that the prices listed on her website already include everything (taxes and gratuities), which I hadn't realized when booking. Such a refreshing and transparent approach! I say rough because she was running her hand through my hair and shaking it out for a few minutes, leaving it still damp - my hair is thick, curly and prone to frizz so you can imagine how that went! Their website says the haircut includes "styling" and this is the first time I've ever left a salon with wet hair that I immediately wanted to put up in a bun when I got home. As a new customer, it seems like they could've at least mentioned when I was setting up the appointment that I needed to ask for a blow dry. I'm happy with the color she chose for my roots, but leaving the salon with unfinished hair left me not wanting to come back.

Appointment was confirmed. There is nothing on their on line booking for a short haircut. I've been a client at this place for years and am so angry at them right now that I booked another appointment at another place recommended. I'm sure my haircut will be just as good or better, and cheaper.
