When I contacted her, she was very responsive and sent me many examples of her portfolio. When we met with her, she was very professional and agreed to do a lengthy, multi-day wedding shooting. Fast forward to the wedding day, Nessa absolutely nailed the photos. She took beautiful candids but also managed to take scores of huge group photos of family and friends where everyone looked great and didn't blink somehow, and she did it in seemingly 1-2 seconds per group. She agreed to travel with the bride and groom to 2 locations during the wedding day (in between the ceremony and reception) and captured the most stunning autumn photos. Even though we didn't prepare for any couple poses, she shared fun ideas to make us seem more natural and it actually worked. She also was great at taking dance floor photos and everything in between. We received our plethora of beautiful photos through email and were so absolutely pleased. We would absolutely recommend Nessa as she is an expert behind the camera, super fun and easy going, and she helped us capture our day just the way we always pictured it.

I've known for years that I have wanted to hire Sarah to do the photography for my wedding--when I…read morefirst saw her work, I instantly fell in love with her style. By her own admission, Sarah works much more in a photojournalistic style; she focuses on telling a story through her photos, capturing moments and images that are both evocative and beautiful. I also appreciated that her portfolio was more muted and subtle with light and color. I personally find that many photographers are much too bright, even over-exposed, and I didn't want to have to worry about that. Going into the wedding planning, I knew that photography was going to be the largest single thing my wife and I were going to spend money on, so our expectations were high. Despite those high expectations, Sarah still absolutely blew us away! She was professional, communicative, and extremely easy to work with. Going in, Sarah was clear to ask us questions and get clarification for what we wanted from her. Even though she was travelling from doing a wedding the day before in another state, she was punctual, timely, and ready to go. She was perfectly unobtrusive during all the key moments of the day, yet managed to capture them beautifully. She took requests with grace, and even prompted us for photos during the reception that we were exceedingly grateful to have. She took to heart the requests we had made prior to the wedding and followed through with them with precision and care. More than anything else, I was extremely impressed with her vision and direction. Her experience spoke volumes--she was able to guide my wife and I with clarity and directness, while never pushing us or making us feel rushed. Consequently, we have an absolute abundance of really unique photos in a variety of backdrops and settings, all displaying us in our day of bliss. Her online portfolio…read morewas impressive of course, but given there is literally a small window of time to get the "perfect" newborn photos, I was very nervous. I got burned with my wedding photographer (so many many years ago, but I was so unhappy with finished product that I feel like it was yesterday), so I did not want the same to happen again with another of life's important milestones. But it was so unnecessary - April is so patient, so professional, and so kind! She bonded with my newborn immediately and took her time to get the best shots. I mean she REALLY took her time. You can tell she understands and realizes that every shot is a reflection of her work and the pride in her work, and she takes no shortcuts. Her studio is ?in flux - she is supposedly trying to find a new studio, but in all honesty, her current one seemed fine to me (ignorance is bliss?). Her prices (session+photos) are not cheap, however they are indeed reasonable given her level of expertise. Remember you get what you pay for, and what you pay for is an experienced professional and excellent photography. I am in the process of ordering announcements and print photos from her now (so difficult as so many of the proofs are simply gorgeous), and I am sure I will not be disappointed.
