We booked the all-inclusive package for our wedding, which means that PLR hired the photographer, caterer, officiant, bartender, etc. However, the day of the wedding was met with multiple frustrations when it was supposed to be a perfect day. To start out our morning, we arrived a little earlier after I had confirmed with the wedding planner it was okay to do so to prep our hair and makeup for my bridal party, when we arrived they did not allow us to gain full access until 11 due to a tour they had at 10:45. In their guidlines, it stated that they can hold tours the day of an event up to 11, I was still seeing these people on the property around 12 ( which is after the time I was paying to even be there ). They do provide morning mimosas in the bridal house. I requested cranberry juice for mine, and they accepted this. When we arrived, there were only pineapple and orange. I'm allergic to pineapple, and I dislike orange. When I asked about cranberry juice, they said the open bar would have it LATER on for mixed drinks. The DJ that was hired by PLR informed my guests they could sneak pictures during my UNPLUGGED ceremony, which felt incredibly disrespectful. He also just kept my Spotify playlist on shuffle when I expected a DJ to mix songs and really feel the vibe. If I had known that was his plan, I could have been my own DJ. The centerpieces on the table were beautiful, but not what I had selected. Other than that, the reception hall looked great! When we went to the tasting for the caterer, Sierra Catering, everything was GREAT. My now husband and I raved about the food for months. At the wedding, the food severely lacked the taste we experienced at the tasting, and my cake did not meet expectations from the inspo I had sent over. I was only unable to see the cake until I was in the hall with my guests. For a length of time, it was difficult to locate the wedding planner, and I had to ask multiple times for her to display the cookies I had brought and she did not want to until RIGHT before the cake cutting, no matter how many times she was asked. When my dog (who is registered under their service animal guidelines) made his scheduled appearance, vendors were all extremely upset by his existence. Stormy was also not there that I was aware of, and the pup had to be kenneled in the grooms area. The bartender, Pour Boyz, told multiple of my guests that she had to be tipped prior to making their drink requests. Not to mention the sour face the bartenders held all night, I am really hoping that's not in the pictures. However, I will sing the praises of our photographer, Cabrera, he did a wonderful job capturing all the shots. Multiple guests told me that he was doing wonderful as well. I cannot wait to see the photos from the wedding! I also ended up getting my own officiant, which made things better, considering my experience with the other vendors. We ended the night early due to my headache and irritation with the day. I am extremely disappointed with the unfortunate events and I am sure I could add on to this list, but overall just happy to be married.

The actual facility was very well tended, with a gracious and attentive waitstaff. Food was on the average side, and the buffet line did get crowded. An ample dance floor and space to dance along the "aisle" between the groups of tables. Restroom was clean, stocked with various essentials (lint roller, tissues, lotion, other toiletries) and well maintained. Navigating to this venue can be a bit intimidating. Located off of a side road (no traffic signal) that intersects with Hwy. 105, you feel as if you're driving into the deep woods until you reach The Carriage House. It is a very unique setting, and when you leave, the road gets very dark! Parking is ample, but be aware that the parking lot itself is actually stones and rocks (a bit difficult to travel across if you're wearing high heels). This is an enchanting location, and since it's obvious that only one event is occurring at any given time, I can clearly see why a bride and groom would choose The Carriage House.

They also provided a list of great options for food and bakery items. I will say the tastings were better than what was delivered at our wedding but that's not against Moffitt Oaks. Melissa, our coordinator, was fantastic and always responded to texts quickly. All of my guests loved the venue and said it was so romantic which is exactly what I wanted. The selections for table cloths, decorations and chargers was amazing. You could get any look you were going for. We opted for floating candles, and small box flowers and candles everywhere. It was perfect. They also assisted with last minute photo booths and a last minute DJ swap. So needless to say, we did not have a lot of time for wedding planning. Lynn- the owner- made everything so simple. She was very straight forward regarding what was or was not included in the rental fee (included: access to building all day, chairs, table, set up, and more). She was also able to recommend vendors that she had worked with in the past and had done a good job. All of the recommended vendors were Conroe based- and many knew each other and had worked together. The venue is large enough to fit 300 people, but we felt it was perfect for our 125 person wedding. While there was an option to do the ceremony on the deck, we chose not to since we were married in June. ' Ultimately, the reasons we chose Waterpoint were: 1. scenery- the building itself was very pretty, but more than that...the views over the water at sunset were spectacular- and made for great pictures. 2. Lynn and her flexibility. She allows you to use any vendor. It's a full weekend rental (no rush to geteverything out by a certain time the night of the wedding). 3. Outside of town (and therefore, much more affordable than the venues we looked at inside the loop) 4. You're allowed to bring your own alcohol and there's no corking fee. Everything leading up to our wedding was very easy and everyone was super helpful which made the…read morewedding planning process so much easier so for that I'm very thankful! However, our wedding day was disappointing. We pretty much had to do everything ourselves as far as decorating goes so it made the day quite stressful especially for my mom which makes me sad because I didn't get to enjoy any part of the getting ready process with her. We informed our coordinator that we had quite a bit of decorations and that we were worried about timing but we were assured that we would have a lot of help and would be able to knock it out quickly however that's not what happened. I was informed that for the majority of the morning our coordinator was on her laptop. She did help with the table centerpieces but not much more than that. If my mom didn't have my sister in law helping there's no way everything would've been set out in time being that we were still scrambling towards the very end and we worked extremely hard on the decorations for the wedding. We had also asked three separate times for the ceremony chairs to be wiped off because they were still wet and dirty from the day before and she assured my mom that they would be cleaned before the ceremony however we heard from several guests that they were still wet and that there were dirty wadded up tissues on some of the chairs. During the "rehearsal" people weren't told where to stand and during the ceremony our coordinator didn't even help with our flower girls or ring bearer so they had no idea what they were supposed to do. More importantly, our coordinator didn't even check to make sure the best man had the wedding rings. I double checked to make sure they were gone but they were still in the bag so they had to be rushed to the best man as they were already lined up. We had also specifically asked for no one to be allowed inside the reception hall before the wedding as we felt it took away from it but that didn't happen. My maid of honor went to talk to our coordinator about it but she didn't seem too concerned with it and still let people in. We had battery operated candles lining the aisle and we noticed last minute that they weren't on so my mom asked the coordinator if she could turn them all on (you just have to point the remote close to them). She did it but not without rolling her eyes. Following the second half of the day our new coordinator was MIA for most of the night, at least that's how it felt to us. We had no idea what was happening until our DJ was announcing it. Our photographer helped us do the cake cutting and when the reception was coming to an end, my father in law was asking us if he needed to pull our car around and when he was supposed to do it and we couldn't find the coordinator to even ask her so he left the reception to pull the truck around just in case which I'm glad he did because no one came to us to make sure it was there. I really don't want to come across as petty here and at the end of the day it's not what's important but we had been looking forward to our day for a long time and it felt hectic and stressful but it is what it is. I've never left a negative review before and I honestly wasn't going to but I emailed the owner of the venue after he reached out asking how they did telling him all this and more but I never heard back from him and it's been 3 months. The venue itself is beautiful but if you're looking for an easy, organized wedding day then I really wouldn't recommend it.

They have a gravel/grass parking lot with no lines so you just have to make up your spot. They have a cute barn reception area with huge windows. I did see someone fall walking in the grass. Like this lady ate it! They have cute swings to sit on and take awesome pictures on. The food was good. I am not sure it they make it there on site or it is catered. The dance floor isn't too big and not too small so it's a good size to make it look like people are always dancing. The restrooms are clean and they offer mints and tampons.
