I recently re engaged Heather's Homeworks for cleaning my home every other month. Have had 2 different persons come and they were both prompt, friendly and efficient. It is SO nice to have the whole house clean at one time! It might be a little more than others I have heard of, but I value their organization, ease of communication if there is an issue. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! I hired them to do a "move in cleaning." The house was a turn key move in ready and all they needed to do is clean an empty house. So Veronica was upstairs cleaning and after she came down I went upstairs and checked the blinds for dust and there was dust all on my finger. I confronted her about it and her response was "we only swift dust the blinds and what comes off comes off, we only have a certain amount of time to get thru the house." WWHHAATT? What kind of answer is that. I was so frustrated, I just let them finish and leave. I than went thru the closets and the baseboards were dusty, than I wiped something out of my stove and the the sponge was black....really? After $448 I had to reclean my house. read more

Paid for a wholes house cleaning. Cleaners were under the impression that no bedrooms needed to be cleaned. Regardless, the kitchen and bathrooms that were supposed to be cleaned were not even swept and surfaces were not wiped down. I think there was a miscommunication, but no one from the company wanted to go deeper to discuss the issue, and I'm wondering if they even cleaned anything other than the fridge add on we payed for. Was offered a discount, but no explanation which seems appropriate. Due to the nature of a rental property, we had to clean everything ourselves because of the turnaround time. DO NOT RECOMMEND - HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE and MEDIOCRE CLEANING AT BEST! I hired Heather's Homework's for 2 things - first, for a post construction clean and then secondly, for a regular clean. Despite the fact that I emphasized over and over that this was a post construction clean (and thus lots of dust and dirt in many places), they gave me a "spring clean". While the most obvious dirt and dust was gone, they did not even come close to doing the work that I asked them to do. Window frames were undone, there was dust, dirt and grime under the bed and bowls that had been sitting on a table were dusted around vs being moved and the entire piece of furniture dusted (literally could see the "ring" where the bowl sat). So after paying them $1200 to clean a 1500sqft house, I had to personally spend 2 hours cleaning after them. I spoke to them about it and they asked me how I'd like them to rectify it. I offered a relatively easy solution to rectify (cleaning one set of windows on the front porch) and the told me they "couldn't do that" but they'd figure out a way to perhaps "discount" my next cleaning. Which brings me to the second cleaning (which, I should have cancelled but thought I'd give them a second chance). I was told that they'd arrive between 11am - 1pm and so I planned my exit from the house accordingly (we were moving out so that renters could start renting). At 8:45am I heard someone enter my home and it was Heather's Homework's. When I said "my messages said you'd arrive between 11am - 1pm", the cleaner (who was professional and kind) said "I was told to be here between 8-10am. I checked my phone and sure enough there was a text that I received less than 10 mins before she walked through the door that said they were coming between 8-10am. I spoke to the main office and they said "well we had someone cancel so we had to come earlier". When I explained that I wasn't ready for them to be there (was still washing comforters and cleaning out the refrigerator and loading my car with items) they told me "if you arent' able to get the house ready for cleaning now, we won't be able to clean for you today - this is the only time we can clean your house". THIS is the type of customer service that Heather's Homework's offers - it has nothing to do with the customer at all (well at least not this customer - apparently I was being penalized for another customer's cancellation, assuming that this was true). So within 15 mins I moved enough things around so that they could start cleaning and they then got to work while I finished the rest of my packing, etc. And then to add insult to injury, apparently, the cleaning supposedly took them an extra hour (perhaps a combo of the 15-ish minute delay AND because they were supposedly doing a better job to make up for the last failed cleaning) which they then charged me extra for! So I paid an extra $100 to my original quote and then they "discounted" me $50 for the prior poor cleaning. So despite their poor customer service and their poor cleaning, they still found a way to make me pay them even more money! So over $1500 I paid to this company for 2 cleanings - one of which was POOR cleaning at best AND in the second one, I was extremely inconvenienced because one of their other customers cancelled on them and they thought it was acceptable to show up to my house more than 2 hours earlier than my scheduled appointment time. Is this really a company you want to hire? I am an enormous fan of hiring and supporting small businesses but THIS is a prime example of a small business you should NEVER HIRE. read more

After trying two other cleaning companies in the Bethany Beach area and being underwhelmed, I tried Heather's Home Works and was not disappointed! Two cleaners came today and did a fantastic job. They spent about 2 hours and the place was spotless. I mean everything. The inside of the trashcan was cleaned. The seems around the dishwasher were scrubbed. This company is awful. The maids are inexperienced and poorly trained. The customer service is even worse. I spent a year having to go behind the maids and ask them to clean things they missed. If they spent more than an hour they rushed to finish because they needed to get to the next job. Don't waste your time with this poorly runner business. read more

Scheduled a Spring Cleaning. Was told that blinds would be "hand washed" as well as doors wiped, etc. basically a weekly cleaning was done. Charged $360. Blinds were not touched. A few furniture pieces weren't dusted or moved as told. Doors still dirty. Very disappointed. read more

I am totally dissatisfied and disappointed with the services provided by Heather's Homework (HHW)at my neighbor's home in Millsboro on June 22, 2020. The services were requested by me as a surprise gift for my neighbor who was scheduled to have a surgery. Hence, HHW could not do a visit to give a price estimate. I provided them with the square footage and requested that they focus on the kitchen and 3 bathrooms. HHW gave mean estimate of $120+. The date, time, and price were CONFIRMED on Saturday the 20th. The crew of 2 young girls came on time. They had the basic "equipment" such as mop, bucket, vacuum cleaner, etc. One girl started cleaning the splash wall tiles. Forty-five minutes went by and she still struggling with the spotted grease and had to consult another girl who was cleaning the bathroom. After watching the two girls clean, I conclude that they were motivated BUT inexperienced. Three hours went by, I was told that another woman is on the way to inspect their work and they are wrapping the cleaning process. The woman showed up and the girls were still not done. She decided to help them clean kitchen cabinets and suggested that detergent Dawn is by the sink that the girl could use to clean kitchen grease! The kitchen floor was mopped with just water and they were all in a hurry to wrap up. At the end, I was told it will cost a total of $300. Needless to say, I was shocked !!! I was told that it's $40/Hr./person !!!! NEVER ONCE was this rate mentioned to me in my several phone calls to HHW. $300 for 2 inexperienced crews who do not know how to remove grease from the wall and the stain of urine was still present around the outside of the toilet ( after I pointed out to the girl to clean it )??? Lexi from the main office told me that she would not charge me with the extra girl who came to clean kitchen cabinets and would only charge me $275 !!! All I can say is that I was glad they didn't send 5 more girls or I would have been bankrupt. The cleaning people I had previously in NJ/NY did not charge me this outrageous price. More importantly, the finished product was unacceptable. The lack of clarity in the manner in which they charge customers was a poor way of running business. Buyer beware. read more

This is the worst company. They basically put a 2 hour time limit on cleaning your house. If they can't finish, they leave. They have different crews every time and they routinely didn't vacuum or mop the too level because they ran out of time. Management was rude and condescending. Trust me. Don't use this company. First let me say, I was very happy with the work that was done however I was not happy that not everything, especially the kitchen, was able to be completed in the allotted time. I feel everything in the contract should have been completed regardless of the time otherwise whats the point in having someone come out to give you an estimate? The young lady who was at the house was outside for at least 20 minutes on the phone with the office. My husband overheard her say to someone that they had only finished part of the upstairs and were already 60 minutes in. No one from the office called to discuss any of this with us. The young lady said they were running out of time (with about 30 minutes left of the 3 hours) and that I could add additional time but it would be more money (great way to get extra money). She should not have been the one speaking to me about this, someone from the office should have called. I withheld payment waiting on a reply. When I finally got one they basically said the value they placed on the clean was simply an estimate and literally supplied the definition of the word "estimate" and said had I approved the additional time (extra $$$) they would have been able to complete the job. Maybe had their employee not been outside of my unit on the phone with the office they could have finished. I have a cleaning service at home and the price is set, if it takes them 2 hours its the same price as if it takes them 4 hours. I would say I was disappointed with the final outcome, especially after traveling 3-1/2 hours one way on two separate occasions only to not have the job completed in its entirety. Today I received a threatening email that if I did not pay in full within 14days they would file a motion with the civil courts for theft of services. How about Theft of my time and money for a job not completed? Never again. read more

I was never around when they cleaned but the house was always clean when I got there. The best recommendation came from my realtor.
